Excellent service from Coastal Rides

Excellent service from Coastal Rides. I only needed 1 ltr. of coolant and they only stock 20 liter cans. They were so kind to look for a 1 ltr bottle and fill it up.
They also gave it for free. So i am very happy with their service.

I have been searching for a small…

I have been searching for a small second hand part for my Volvo Penta drive on my boat for over a year with absolutely no success. Eventually I was given Coastal Rides to contact, not only did the person on the other end of the line know what I was looking for he found one and sent me a photo of it within minutes. The price was very reasonable and it was with me within 36 hours.
One of the best examples of service I have received in many years.
They will now be my first choice to call when looking for parts..

Previous Experience Good - This time Poor Trading Standards Engaged

While previously having used this Company with no issue and being happy with all aspects of that purchase I recently had a very poor experience when purchasing what was described as “New Warehouse Stock” Satellite TV System.

Despite extensive checks prior to the purchase what was advertised was not as delivered.

Once Delivered the Box Description was for a different unit. The Kit should contain an antenna dome, control unit and accessories with cable and software.

Once opened the Dome unit was missing internal packaging and was dirty with marks externally and under the dome. Raymarine confirmed the control unit provided was for a 37 inch dome and for the far east market and not the 45 inch model I had purchased.

The unit contained power cables for both the V1 unit and the V2 (this should only have been V2).

Raymarine would not confirm these units would work effectively together.

I requested a refund and this has taken some time but a full refund including postage and package both ways was issued today.

I feel Costal Rides failed to live up to their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee - I discussed this with a Director who was rude/abrupt and hung the phone up on me telling me not to call again (I was concerned because a refund had not been made despite the goods being received 7 days earlier). The director quoted that they had 14 days to issue a refund, however, my point was these goods were not as advertised and I had given time to correct and we were now a month from the original supply.

Timescales were:

24/7 Extensive Written enquiries made to confirm the exact nature of goods and my requirements.

25/7 Costal Rides confirmed all and the order was placed and funds paid.

29/7 Good received and differences immediately reported.

1/8 I asked to return for a refund since not as described. Costal Rides asked for time to check in case of a mix up.

6/8 Costal Rides confirmed they did not in fact have the goods advertised or ordered and return agreed.

12/8 Costal Rides had goods collected at their cost.

16/8 Goods delivered to Costal Rides.

19/8 I contacted to chase a refund advised Card Machine was Broken.

23/8 Spoke to the Office Manager and the Director advised card machine was down from 16/8 to 22/8 but they had 14 days to inspect and would issue the refund when they had checked the goods and had time to issue. This felt like non-customer-focused delaying tactics.

28/8 Refund received today of the full purchase price including post and packing charges so the only cost to me has been time and frustration.

Factually
Goods were not as described despite spending time to check - not sure whether this was purposely to mislead or a genuine mistake. I assumed the former initially but given that the correct goods were never in stock and the return process was lengthy and stressful I was disappointed in the service received and am not 100% satisfied.

I have reported the difference in advertising and supply to Trading Standards and they have opened a case to monitor reference 0083 4622 they would like details of anyone else having similar issues.

A truly awful and dishonest company to…

A truly awful and dishonest company to deal with.
They sent out the wrong parts, despite me checking the part number with them 3 times. I had to pay for the return and as they didn't have the originally requested parts in stock, I requested a refund. They only returned 80% of my money!! When challenged they directed me to their terms and conditions, but it doesn't say anything about what happens when the return is due to them making a mistake.
It is bad enough to charge a restocking fee for returning unused items but when it is their fault, I just don't see any valid reason for this to happen. Unfortunately, I paid by debit card so cannot instigate a charge back as I could with a credit card payment. I would never use this company again.
