It’s clear the bivvy has been designed with a lot of love

You have to touch the material to fully understand. Fortunately for me, I was able to feel it through a friend who had already purchased one. I thought it was probably more than I was willing to spend, but once I felt it, I ordered one that day.

It’s honestly unmatched. It’s definitely luxury camping gear. Incredibly well made, beautiful and something that will genuinely last you a lifetime.

I also just use it as a cozy blanket. I keep it in the car a lot of the time and in the winter I have it at home and use it outside around the property, so I genuinely spend more time outside now. I also do wind sports, so I’ll use it as an outdoor blanket to take a nap between sessions. It’s waterproof and durable so I end up using it for everything. I’m pretty rough with it and somehow it still stays beautiful and even somehow adds to the character of the material.

I feel this should be sold alongside YETI products. It’s unmatched and at the absolute top of its category and the quality is right up there with the best outdoor brands in their own categories.

I hope the company considers doing more events where people can experience the material in person.

There are not many companies like Companion left any more. From start to finish, the care and passion that they feel for their product and mission is exceptional. The bivvy bags are exceptional quality - you can tell that nothing has been compromised - if it needs doing, it is done. We love the natural feel of the fabric and the remarkable waterproofing and breathability - with satisfyingly sturdy zips and fastenings. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get outside and get closer to nature

I don't write reviews very often, but every now and then something comes along that deserves shouting about.

I've been bivvy camping for the last few years, but ironically the biggest issue has usually been the bivvy itself. Most I've owned have either been too restrictive or made from materials that leave me waking up damp with condensation. After a while you just accept that's part of bivvy camping.

Then I got the Companion. It's honestly on another level!

The extra width and length makes such a difference. You can fit your full sleeping bag inside, along with a small mat if you want, and you've still got enough room to move around. You're not constantly fighting the fabric every time you roll over.

The material is brilliant too. I never worry about throwing it down on rough ground, and it feels built to last. Sometimes I sleep straight on the dirt, sometimes I'll throw a foam mat underneath, but either way it just works.

What's surprised me most is how much we've ended up using it beyond camping. It's become our picnic blanket in the garden with my son, I've kept it in the back of the car for those moments when I just want to stop somewhere and switch off for half an hour, and it's become one of those bits of kit that just seems to come everywhere with us.

To me, it's one of those rare pieces of gear that feels like it'll be with me for life. Every trip adds another memory, and it somehow becomes a little more special every time I use it.

If you've been thinking about getting one, just go for it. You won’t regret it!
