convert.express is a pay-as-you-go AI transcription service that turns audio and video recordings into text. Upload an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM file of up to 2 GB, or paste a YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive or direct MP3/MP4 link. Most recordings come back as a finished transcript in under a minute. The service was founded in 2026 and is run from Spain. There is no subscription. Everyone gets 10 free minutes of transcription every day, and no account or credit card is needed to try it. After that, transcription costs €0.02 per minute of audio or video, with a €0.50 minimum per transaction. A 30-minute interview costs €0.60; a 90-minute lecture costs €1.80. Longer files show a preview first, so you can check the result before you pay. You choose the AI model for each job: OpenAI Whisper, Microsoft MAI-Transcribe 2 or Google Gemini 3.5 Transcribe. The spoken language is detected automatically, with 65 languages supported in total, from English and Spanish to Hindi and Swahili. Vocabulary hints improve accuracy on names, acronyms and technical terms, and you can pick a clean transcript (fillers and false starts removed) or a verbatim one. Signed-in users can turn on speaker diarization, which labels who said what in a conversation. Transcripts download as plain text, PDF, or SRT and VTT subtitle files. From a finished job you can also generate an AI summary, a list of action items, or a translation into any of 103 languages. Translated subtitles keep their original timecodes, so a translated SRT drops straight back into your video. Four free browser tools (SRT to TXT, SRT to VTT, VTT to SRT and a subtitle timestamp shifter) run entirely on your device and never upload the file. Uploaded files and transcripts are deleted automatically within 24 hours, recordings are never used to train AI models, and transcript text is never written to logs. Transcription runs on models from OpenAI, Microsoft and Google; summaries, action items and translation run on Anthropic Claude. convert.express is built for people who transcribe now and then rather than every day: freelance journalists, podcasters, YouTubers, researchers, students, lawyers, and anyone with a few interviews, lectures or meeting recordings a month.
