CPAdjusting / CP Adjusting worlds worst loss adjuster
CPAdjusting Ltd, aka CP Adjusting loss adjusters, stands out as the most unprofessional and obstructive company I have ever dealt with.
Please note Trustpilot lists CPAdjusting.com as being from USA. The company is based in Bristol UK.
They were appointed as loss adjusters to handle a straightforward accidental damage claim under my “The Letting Hub Tenants Insurance” policy. The actual policy was provided by City & Commercial Insurance Company (PPC) Ltd, based in the Channel Islands.
The policy clearly states: “Tenants Liability; Up to £5,000 of accidental damage to the landlord's buildings or contents.”
Instead of a fair and professional process, what I encountered was an astonishing level of incompetence, misinformation, and what appears to be deliberate obstruction.
False Claim Denial: CP Adjusting wrongly stated my tenancy agreement didn’t make me liable for accidental damage — despite a clear clause stating otherwise. Even after I provided the relevant section, they upheld the denial.
I ultimately had to lodge a complaint with the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman, who found entirely in my favour.
Factual Errors and Misrepresentation: One rejection letter claimed the damage was caused by a leak from another flat. I live in a detached house — there are no neighbouring flats. Despite pointing out this blatant error multiple times, CP Adjusting failed to explain it.
Inappropriate and Unprofessional Conduct: During the site visit, the CP Adjusting loss adjuster was dismissive and clearly unfamiliar with the policy details. He even admitted he hadn’t reviewed my insurance documents. He didn't inspect all the damage and told me a lot of the damage wouldn't be covered.
Serious Administrative Failures: The first rejection letter from CP Adjusting was created weeks after the date it was supposedly issued. Sent in an insecure, 21-year-old Word file format. Authored under a dissolved company name — “The Claims People Group Plc”. Contained incorrect personal data, including my address. They misspelt their own company name calling themselves CPA Adjusting - note the extra "A".
Failure to Communicate Honestly: When I requested copies of documents, CP Adjusting falsely claimed they didn’t have them. This was quickly disproven when another staff member sent them to me within minutes.
Delays in Payment: Even after a bill for £850 in water-damaged furniture restoration was approved for payment, I waited over six weeks with no updates or payout.
The Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman upheld my complaint, directed City & Commercial Insurance Company to accept the claim, and awarded me £250 for the distress and inconvenience caused by the unwarranted rejection.
That says everything.
14 months on, I’m still waiting for the claim to be paid out in full for the damage to the property.
If you’re unfortunate enough to have CPAdjusting Ltd manage your insurance claim, prepare yourself for misleading information, avoidable delays, administrative chaos, and the very real possibility that you’ll need legal or ombudsman intervention just to get what you’re owed.
