Scam Operation
I ordered the diabetic treat box as a present in March of 2023. I ordered 1 box a month for 3 months. Suddenly, in May, I received emails from Cratejoy stating my orders for the gentleman's box and the gadget box had been received. I hadn't ordered these. My credit card was billed. I called and emailed multiple times, spoke with multiple people and cancelled my credit card, but the emails stating that the order was on the way kept coming. The person who is ordering is Luis Luza Mancillac, whom I don't know. Needless to say, don't order from Cratejoy.
2 subscriptions, and they both suck
I ordered two different subscriptions as Christmas gifts. My father gets the same spices every month, despite being a spice from around the world variety pack. It’s supposed to be a different experience each month!
I also got the same theme as snack for my brother. 6 months of getting the exact same box each month, no variety. The only thing different was an unmarked foil bag each month. No clue what it’s supposed to be. Each month my brother reported it was something that smelled like fish, but was a different color from previous month.
You cannot review cratejoy on Google. You cannot get support from cratejoy. They tell you to speak to the vendors and the vendors never answer. Cratejoy takes no responsibility for the vendors on their platform.

I had a monthly subscription to Mystery Experience for some time. No problem with delivery. Now, trying to cancel the subscription, which is paid to date, is impossible. Their “customer chat” sent me to a third party site, charging $5 to “assist” me. Will need credit card company to intervene.
Cratejoy supports fraudulent credit card charges
I ordered a non-renewable 6-month coffee-of-the-month subscription from MixCups in January 2022. The gift recipient received four monthly mailers, then the service stopped. No communications, no refunds. In February 2023, the company fraudulently charged my credit card for a renewal via the Cratejoy service. MixCups has not returned multiple emails... Cratejoy initally sent me a series of cut-and-paste responses... then replied with lies about the charges on my card... and now says they are unable to do anything about the charges made on their service. What a hassle to have to file fraudulent charge proceedings with my credit card company. Would recommend never using MixCups OR Cratejoy for any service.

Out of a 3 box subscription for Christmas I have received duplicates of everything.
Stale out of date and things like freeze dried olives something called bada beans & a tiny little bag of powder that is supposed to be a drink
The bags are so small you can’t read the labels.
Customer service promised me via email that they would replace a box immediately that was 2 weeks ago.
I emailed them recently & haven’t received a reply.
This was a gift & I’m embarrassed for my family member who thought CrateJoy was a good idea.
Apparently it’s only a platform for 2500 vendors and there’s apparently zero quality control
Buyer beware there’s much better options

Update 3/11 I reached out 3/10 to get an update and was told they were packing boxes now & I would be receiving the replacement box shortly & the last of my Christmas gift box in about 30 days
I will continue to update, not sure what this crate joy is all about.

I would give them zero stars if possible. I ordered a "Date Night in a Box" for my 21 year old son and his girlfriend for Christmas. The description said boxes would be mailed out within 3 days of order, so I had it sent to my house since my son was in town a few weeks visiting for the holidays. The box never arrived. I messaged about it and got a quick response that the sender had a death in the family, was so sorry, and would ship it out immediately to my son's address (since he was no longer home). Great!
A month later I get a notice the box is getting ready to be shipped...to my address. 8 emails later and still no box. Shipping info just says pending. It takes two days to get a response and they don't address your issue. Stay away from these crooks!
Signed me up for a renewable…
Signed me up for a renewable subsciption when I only ordered two boxes. Charged me twice the rate the box would cost if I had ordered directly from the art box company. Said a box was delivered that never arrived. Took two months to get my box.
Terrible Company, Do Not Use!
This company is simply terrible. Read through the other reviews and you'll understand. I placed an order for a subscription on November 26th - plenty of time to arrive before Christmas. By December 19th it hadn't even shipped. I reached out to the seller - no response. The seller then charged me a $120 renewal fee, so I contacted Crate Joy. They claimed they couldn't refund anything and had to go through my credit card company. No way to elevate an issue, they just keep saying it's their "policy" and you have to wait until each box doesn't arrive - then they may refund your money for that box only. Do not do business with this website, it's nothing short of pure theft!

I wished I had checked the Trust Pilot…
I wished I had checked the Trust Pilot reviews before dealing with this company. I followed the proper procedure for resolving a Christmas gift that seems to be in perpetual preparing mode.. no reply from the seller and the gift is past due. I now have to resolve this with my credit card company and shop for another gift for my in-laws. Stay away from Crate Joy!
Missing box, no customer service
It's been two months and still haven't received my order. They have ignored my multiple follow up messages. I did get one reply from the seller a month ago that they'd look into it but haven't heard from them since. Have been trying to get a refund which they've ignored.
They spoiled the surprise gift
I prepaid for a six-month subscription for my mother. When checking out with CrateJoy, they gave the option to have a gift email sent to the recipient on a specific date. After some thought and consideration, I decided to choose to have the email sent on December 26th, that way there was no chance of her getting the email before she opened the first box that I was going to wrap and have under the tree on Christmas Day. I was extremely upset when my mother texted me to say she got this email on November 16th! After opening a ticket with them, they closed it less than 12 hours later saying that the fault was mine. They even showed me a screenshot showing I had selected the date of November 21st for the email to be sent (which doesn’t even make sense, because the email was sent on the 16th, not the 21st). When I stated that their system was obviously bugged because I CLEARLY remember choosing December 26th and I double checked it before checking out, they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part and closed the ticket without any further response. I spent over $300 on this gift and it was meant to be a surprise. I wish I had seen all the negative reviews before I spent that kind of money, because I see now that this company has a pattern of extremely poor customer service.
Profane self-care subscription
Ordered a self-care subscription for my mother, who is 88. Most of it was beauty supplies. One item was a pack of inspirational cards, and on the pack it had "99 inspirational cards for people who f**king need inspiration" (they didn't use *'s.) Checked their sellers requirements and they have no requirement of common decency. Would not recommend and will not use again.
CrateJoy is a scam
CrateJoy is a scam. My daughter gave me what she understood to be a book box subscription curated to my taste. The photos of the books available are not what you will receive and neither are the “filler” items. What I’ve received are “red-lined” books which are books returned to the publisher because they did not sell. Some books are more than 10 years old. I’ve received 5 boxes (they will not cancel it) and I’ve not read a single book. The filler items are a joke: my most recent box had three small pieces of hard candy from a sample bag, a book mark filled with advertising for CrateJoy, and a journal with bent pages. One had a chocolate cookie that expired and was smushed behind recognition. This is a SCAM. A waste of money. Do not buy.
I've used Cratejoy the past two years…
I've used Cratejoy the past two years for Christmas gifts. I've had 3 negative experiences. One, the seller, went above and beyond to make it right. The other two ghosted me and ruined the gift experience for the recipients and myself. To Cratejoy's credit, my last negative experience was so bad, the seller was kicked off the site. They did offer me a free one month box from any seller but I declined. I appreciated the swift response and action taken on this seller. The concept is smart and we've had some amazing, fun boxes. When shopping vendors, look at the most recent reviews, number of sales and recent sales. There are some good sellers/companies on there. I've never had any issues with shady charges, just crappy companies.

Paid for 3 months in advance for bath and beauty products for my wife and after several emails and "chats" they decided not to take any action on my behalf. Crate Joy = Sad Crate
Do not do business with this company
Listen to everyone else and do not do business with this company. I have received my boxes but I wanted to cancel and have tried three separate times. Never can reach anyone. It says you can just cancel with the click of a button but that's a bunch of baloney and doesn't work. I need help on getting them to stop charging my card.
Never received product or any responses to questions
I paid for 3 months but never received ANYTHING. And there has been no communication at all from the vendor or from cratejoy. No responses to my multiple inquiries.
Don't use this service - it is a scam.
Never received boxes
Thought it would be awesome Christmas gifts for my 5 grandkids. Only 2 got their products. Have written numerous times to Crate Joy and they say being sent to the different sites with my concerns. NO response ever. I have lost hundreds of dollars and very disappointed and sad grandkids.
