I chose CR Smith thinking I would get great service and all the features I wanted for my Endurance composite door, but my experience was extremely disappointing.
The initial salesperson obviously told me all I wanted to hear to secure the sale and even gave me wrong information about payment methods. They promised I could have a deadlock (“thumb turn”) fitted, and a manager confirmed this before the surveyor even visited. However, the surveyor later explained that a “thumb turn” is actually a keyless lock from the inside—definitely not what I requested.
On installation day, the fitters did not install my door guard and claimed they knew nothing about it. After contacting the office, I was told the door guard had been ordered and would be fitted later, but I am still waiting for a date.
The following day, wet and windy weather caused water to gather inside the door threshold. A senior technician later visited, sealed two missed points, and ran through important maintenance instructions—like always engaging the lock due to the door’s weight. He was shocked the fitters had not told me this.
I also had repeated delays with the painter. First delayed by a day, then by two weeks. After arguing about the two-week delay, the painter suddenly was able to come that same day—showing how disorganised the scheduling was.
When I raised the issue of the thumb turn, staff argued they had no record of it on my order and that I had not been charged for one. I first spoke to Eva, but mistakenly called her “Eve.” Lauren then said, “We don’t have an Eve working here,” which was petty and must have been intentional. She reduced the amount I could withhold from £500 to £100. After speaking to only three people, all giving conflicting answers, I provided proof (surveyor invoice and manager email). Eventually, Kodi removed the charge for the thumb turn, resolving the payment issue.
The inconsistency between the salesperson, manager, surveyor, fitters, and office, combined with poor communication and unhelpful staff, made the whole process frustrating. Had I known I wouldn’t get all the features I requested, I would have bought my door elsewhere.

UPDATE: Broken Promises & New Safety Concerns
I originally removed this review after a manager visited, offered a small discount, and reassured me that my experience was not the norm. Unfortunately, I have been forced to repost and update this as further serious issues have come to light:
• Security Risk & Emergency Response: The locking mechanism on the door is loose and moving back and forward, worsening daily. When the manager visited, he promised I would receive a welcome pack containing a 24-hour emergency contact number. This was never sent. When this security issue arose, I actually had to contact them to ask for the emergency number that should have been provided weeks ago. Despite the risk, I’ve been told I must wait 5 days for an engineer. They will inspect while here anyway to fix a different issue.
My security does not seem to warrant a call out. I paid a premium for a high security door to have my security compromised and dismissed as urgent.
• Hidden Property Damage: I discovered the skirting board beside the door was broken during installation. The bottom of the board was snapped off and the piece is missing, leaving a gap between the wall and the floor. The fitter clearly tried to position the wood to mask the break, showing a total lack of honesty regarding the damage caused to my home.
The initial "resolution" offered by management feels like a hollow gesture given the ongoing lack of communication, poor installation quality, and the discovery of hidden damage.
I cannot recommend CR Smith.

Got new windows which I am absolutely over the moon with great service the fitter Wayne was amazing very helpful and gave me all the information I needed to know about the windows the house had no mess was very pleased with the product and the service would definitely recommend.

The Intial vist to price the work was completed by a very nice and knowledgeable guy.
The work was carried out promptly by 2 very nice engineers who carried out the job to a high standard and were very good at explaining what work was carried out.
I do recommend and will use again in the future

The guys were great very knowledgable & even give us tips to look after our windows, they were very tidy & very efficiant, i would recommend CR.Smith to anyone who required windows to be fixed.

A rafter and gasket on my conservatory polycarbonate roof slipped, so I called CR Smith Fix. The office staff were friendly, helpful and very professional as were the technicians Wayne and Connor, who did an excellent job. I'm very happy with the outcome and would recommend CR Smith Fix.

Derek (from CR Smith FIX) was very helpful. He quickly sorted the problems we had identified with dropped French doors and one window, and he then kindly checked the other windows and fixed some further issues. Altogether an excellent professional service.

CR Smith has provided good service and products from the beginning till the job completion. The sales rep explained the process well and helped us to select products that are right. The financial plan was well explained and there was no hard sales pressure. Once order has been placed, we were well informed of the upcoming process. The job was completed with good care to our house and the team was polite and tidy.

From the moment we contacted CR Smith for a new window quote we found Steve the salesman to be very knowledgeable about their product, bringing samples to show, explain how they were constructed and how the window would be installed.
The 2 fitters, Lewis and Gordon were very friendly and efficient. They arrived early, fitted te window and cleared up after themselves.
We would havre no hesitation in recommending or using CR Smith again.

I recommend this company. Went out of their way to be helpful and did an excellent job.
