Ordered a Dining Table/Pool table online on 18th November worth €389 with €49.99 delivery - bulk delivery so requires Vanex Logistics who it seems are incapable of providing any online tracking information - that should have been the red flag but I really wanted the item. Was showing delivery date of 9th Dec online which is 15 working days - is this item coming from the Moon?!??
I contacted customer "service" on 7th when I didnt have any notification on delivery, tracking number etc. to see whether delivery would be taking place on the 9th and was told there is a delay because of logistics but they are actively tracking my order BUT unable to give me a tracking number or delivery date - its ok though, the delivery partners are prioritising deliveries ... eh ... HOW? Responded again on 9th December asking for any idea of delivery date ... nothing .. no response ... Steer Well clear of this company they are awful!!
I've now been told that delivery will be on "either the 15th or 16th of Dec" and the delivery company (Vanex) will contact me on the day with a time - Logistically, this means someone staying home for 2 days on the off chance that the item is delivered - this is lunacy!!!
I have emailed the CEO of Decathlon, CEO of Decathlon UK & Ireland and every customer service email address available to try to get the most BASIC of information ... when will the product that I paid money for be delivered?!??!?!?! I also linked them to their Trustpilot pages - the number of customers with issues makes it clear this isnt "over-reacting" customers due to the time of year - this is sustained customer complaints for over a year.
As before, unless delivery does happen on EITHER of those 2 dates as I have taken time off work to be home, I'm considering this theft and doing a chargeback on payment!

Delivery didnt happen on 15th Dec despite someone being home. Delivery didnt happen on 16th Decmber despite someone being home. On afternoon of16th December I received an email saying that delivery would happen on 17th Dec between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
I got up this morning to 2 emails from Vanex Logistics ...
Email 1: 7:13am stated that delivery would be around 10.42am
Email 2: 7:23am delivery has failed at 7:16am ... no reason why ... just failed
Remarkably - I received a link to a tracker for my delivery from Vanex which told me my delivery was status "undelivered" due to being unavailable.
Apoplectic with anger I emailed Vanex and multiple Decathlon people asking what the hell has happened, no one showed up at 7:16am, I have proof of my Ring Camera.
I received an email from Vanex saying that delivery failed because of a "loading error" and that they were organizing their "run" for next week and would be in contact with a new delivery date!!
I do not believe there is a "loading error" ... I do believe that Decathlon have used the cheapest company they can find to do deliveries, that limit insurance costs for bulk items and that there was only 1 person at the Van to load my item and he wasnt able to do so himself so 10 minutes after getting the route confirmed he marked it as undeliverable.
I cannot tell you how much you should stay away from this company and its awful delivery service! Please do yourself a massive favour and buy from a reputable retailer as this lot do not operate in good faith.
Next step is a full refund and small claims court for 3 days loss of earnings!
Further update - like others in reviews below, I gave up and organized a replacement from another company that was delivered within 3 days!!
I have been palmed off and given platitudes by Customer Service since I started engaging with them on 7th December.
They finally agreed to a refund on around 19th December but the comedy continued ...
Despite me confirming I wished a refund they tried to deliver on Monday 22nd when no-one was home!!! I got NO notification on delivery until the morning of 22nd December.
These folks are an absolute joke!
Its now 7th January and I am still fighting for a refund and compensation!!!
How do I hate decathlon...let me count the ways...
Bought a treadmill run500 on black Friday deal. Worked once and then all power went from the machine. Contacted technical support in UK who were very responsive and advised could arrange a collection and replacement. Now over 6 weeks later still no collection. If I deal with Irish customer support it is by email and they defer the matter to their external collection service Vanex. If the agent I deal with is away, then there is no-one to follow up. Ridiculously poor customer service. Never going to buy from that store again.
Update: Following this review, got contacted by Vanex to arrange collection on a Friday and then driver rings late Friday evening and says 'sorry, no space in his van, will try again on Tuesday' That has come and gone.
Main issues I have found customer support with decathlon non existent - feels like you are being handled by a robot, no means of escalation, they don't want to do a refund but would rather do a replacement, they outsource their deliveries and pick up to this really useless crowd called vanex, so as a consumer you are really stuck. I think its best to avoid this crowd and stick with stores with better customer support.
Absolute joke of a website
Absolute joke of a website. I ordered a Christmas present off their website. Ordered it the 5th & my delivery was for the 6th. Its now the 23rd & my item nowhere to be seen..contacted them multiple times and all they keep saying is they have contacted the courier. But my courier is an post. Ive put the tracking number into the an post & they don't recognise my tracking number, joke

I visited again today and i do want to say that it is without the best and most consistent retail experience in Ireland. I have gone to the shop many times and on each occasion the service is simply incredible .. staff fantastic and the product / pricing etc are all good – but it is the staff experience that wows me each time
I just want to acknowledge it … brilliant and commend the whole team … {please pass my comments on to your manager}

Refusal to provide refund to broken item
Tried to return a table( as when we got home we discovered it was damaged) with no luck .
Staff refused to take back the table claiming it was a “ second life purchase “.
The table had no such label on it to inform customers it was a second life purchase and it wasn’t in the shelf with second life purchases .
I provided my receipt for refund still wasn’t received .

Ordered a 12 in shoe size and received a 13. When I followed up with the company I was told that they were out of stock for the 12s so they just gave me the size up?? But it wasn't out of stock on the website. Which I said. When I asked if I would get anything as compensation they said I would need a loyalty card in order to get free shipping on my next order. I told her I didn't have one and she said there was nothing they could do. Honestly horrible customer service. Most people I know don't even revive their orders they said

If there was a chance too give no stars I would .I recently ordered two items off decathlon.it took them 6 days too deliver within Ireland.when package arrived the box was fully torn open with holes also in the box itself .then when I opened the box my items were just flung inside the box with no protection on them nothing .like they couldn't care less as they have already received payment for both items.i would highly recommend staying well clear of this service abousetle disgrace.
Huge delay in delivery , with UPS .
I ordered a small item to be picked up in a local hub ( from a list )in Ballincollig , Co Cork on the 12/ 08 / UPS are sending daily emails saying the status of delivery has changed and they have to get back to source for clearance ! You cannot reply to the UPS emails !
Tried emailing the address given out on the Dublin phone , INVALID email according to Google ! Phone to a person in the Ballymun store rings out after a few seconds . This is disgraceful business and if Decathlon ever open a store in the south , I will boycott and advise anyone to do the same !

Decathlon online experience
Bought a selection of camping gear online, which was packed and dispatched quickly. However it sat with An Post for the last 3 weeks. I reached out to Decathlon customer support who were very helpful on both occasions unlike their delivery partner. The order arrived today with all items present. Deducting 1 star for the lack of choice in delivery partners given An Post's issues at the moment. I would have definitely paid extra to have a pricey order like this delivered quickly with DPD.
Avoid the online service
Purchased a product online and paid the additional cost for next day delivery, when my parcel didn't arrive they told me it would take 4-5 days. The wrong product then arrived and their customer service team sent me a replacement. The replacement never got shipped as they say it sold out. It is still available in stock now. They haven't refunded me.
Truely awful experience with O'Connell St branch
I could write a novel with how bad this experience was but instead I'll just give the facts...
Terrible communications, chaotic, designed to be uncontactable, lies and shady ways of working.
All this info relates specifically to the O'Connell St branch.
- They NEVER answer the phone so don't even bother trying
- They have no problem selling an item they say is 'too bulky to deliver' and instead, expect you to come pick it up somehow...
- Despite exchanging a ridiculous amount of emails with the cycletowork.oconnell@ email address, I had no idea who I was speaking with. They refused point blank to provide a name several times when I asked. I assume to prevent them getting in trouble for being awful at their job. I don't even know why I was dealing with them because this wasn't a cycle to work purchase.
- They also blatantly lied to me when I asked why my purchase and points wasn't in my account.
Pro tip: Always take screenshots.

Decathlon Delivery left parcel in wrong adress and never call to my phone to checked eircode. And customer service by email come to say need investigation and I have to wait 10 work days. I bought helmet and have urgency on that.
****I want my refund***or at least send same parcel to a shop where I can collect immediately***, It not my problem a company crazy that left parcels somewhere without check eircode or make phone call to customer.
