I returned a pair of hiking boots that were much too small. You have to pay for post . Couldn’t download a return form so bought a pre paid large packet from An post. It didn’t have track and trace so when I heard nothing back I email the help line. They said they needed a track and trace to look into it. It was in an easy to identify An Post Packet with the invoice and original packet enclosed. After ten emails forwards and backwards they were not going to look into the matter. I mean how big is Decathlon in Ballymun!!! They could have easily looked into why the return was not processed. I am out of pocket with no comeback and left frustrated with the non existent Customer Service. I have bought item’s previously but never again. I am a pensioner with limited funds so super disappointed that no effort was made to look into this.
Dodgy sizing and rip off delivery and returns
Sizes are well off. I bought a gilet in a size 8 but when it arrived it was so big it was more like a size 12. I had already paid for delivery of this order but I ended up having to pay for return postage as well. Furthermore I have had to pay again for delivery when I ordered the same gilet in a smaller size. Poor service from such a profitable, multinational company
Dreadful
The only reason I have given 1 star here is because it is impossible to give less. I ordered an item from decathlon's Irish website on the 26th December 2024, and to date it has not arrived. I have contacted the company numerous times but they refuse to help as "the item is in transit". They also refuse to issue a refund as "the item is in transit". I can't understand how this company is allowed to operate in this manner. It has been over a month since I ordered and paid for this item and it appears that decathlon feels that their obligation to me began and ended as soon as the item left their warehouse. The only advice I can offer anyone considering using this website is "don't".

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered a racket 3 weeks ago and it hasn’t arrived. It was only when I followed up and requested an update only to be told my order was cancelled by them. Had I not requested an update from support I wouldn’t have a clue what was going on as they left me in the dark. Had I not requested an update I don’t believe they would have informed me and kept my money! Will be purchasing elsewhere for my sports equipment. Very poor.

This company uses meteor space in Northern Ireland for their bulk item deliveries in the Republic, a shambles of a delivery company, always late, rude drivers, broken items, you names it I've felt it over the last 3 experiences between my wife and family placing orders, stay clear until they change delivery company, even then I'd be weary of ordering.
Terrible bike buying experience
Tried buying the elops 500 bike using vouchers - the site doesn't indicate the max voucher limit so the purchase kept failing. When customer service informed me of the limit I finalised purchase for Collection. On collection there was a an obvious dent in the bike that staff had not idenfified and no tyres I store that would fit the bike for upgrade. I asked for a discount which was entertained but it was so small an amount I just asked for a replacement. I was told I had to order tyres myself for Collection in store if I wanted to upgrade, however that option was not available on the website and I ended up paying for delivery to my home. So now I have to bring the tyres in for when I'm collecting the bike. Basically a poor online and in-person experience ... just don't bother use your local bike store even if it's a little more expensive.
Refused from shop
My 2 sons recieved vouchers to the value of 30e each as a Christmas present as they both play sports (4 different ones between them so a lot of equipment). They (16 & 12) decided to walk 20 mins to the store in Limerick so they could buy something for themselves. Upon arrival at the store they were refused entry as they were under the age of 18. No where is it advertised as an over 18s store, no where outside the shop is there a sign that says you have to be over 18 to be unaccompanied and let's be honest no 16 or 12 year old is going to stand and read a sign in small print inside the main doors. Needless to say, we will be spending our money elsewhere in future.
Just avoid, poor quality, even worse customer service
Just avoid, I certainly will be in future. Purchased a Pongori Pool table. It was a Christmas present for my son. The table came with a damaged castor wheel and bracket. Decathlon will not provide me with replacement parts as requested. The only option is collection of the table which would leave me without a table and a son wondering why Santa delivered a faulty table. No flexibility shown, no explanation on why spare parts cannot be provided.
This was after much stress before Christmas when delivery was 2 weeks late and 3 promised shipment dates missed with no reason given.
Ordered two items on the 4th of January…
Ordered two items on the 4th of January which were in stock in Ballymun. I chose click and collect as it stated it would be available from the 6th. As of the 14th no email saying the order was ready. I emailed customer service who said it was most likely adverse weather but couldn't say when it would be ready. The items were in stock on the website. I sent a follow up email asking if they're in stock why can't I pick it up and no response.

Terrible customer service. I bought a trampoline that broke after three days of use. I was told it was from "over use"!! Never buying from them again.
€49 for bulky delivery and no delivery information
I really wish I’d read the reviews before placing my €400+ order with Decathlon. Paying €49 for delivery, you’d expect at least some basic information—but no tracking, no details about the delivery company, and not even Decathlon seems to know what’s going on. The estimated delivery date? Completely inaccurate. The lack of transparency is honestly shocking for such a high delivery fee.

Ordered a treadmill 6 weeks ago specifically for Christmas, it was “lost in transit” from Ballymun to my house in Dublin. They never contacted me to let me know. When I contacted them they said it would be weeks before they could deliver but when I offered to collect it, no response.

I bought a bike over Christmas
I bought a bike over Christmas. I was told I could bring my old bike back and trade it in for a voucher. I went and took my old bike to the Ballymun store and was told the pedals need changing, which was true. They said they couldn’t take the bike for this reason as they had no pedals in stock to change the pedals. Very frustrating to deal with.
Terrible unreliable backpacks
I bought a backpack from Decathlon for a long trip in Asia that. Its stated the bag had a 10 year warranty so I assumed it to be a reliable bag, how wrong was I!
A week into the trip the bag started to deteriorate with the material coming apart. I contacted their customer service but they offered me no solution except bring it back to the store where you bought it. Impossible as I was 10,000 miles away with no intent of returning home in the six months. Even though they have Decathlon stores in Thailand they would not allow me to exchange in a store here. For such a large worldwide company I am very disappointed with their quality of goods, lack of customer rights and poor customer service.

My Decathlon exercise bike broke well under warranty, and they’ve refused to collect it or provide a solution. To make it worse, they don’t even offer recycling options for their own products. Terrible customer service!
Rude Manager
I was at the 3040 limerick store and one of the managers, I think her name was Olivia- manager of fitness she was so rude and I heard some of the stuff she say's about people and I've never been more shocked at how someone can be so unprofessional. I even saw how the employees were acting around her, they all felt so uneasy which was sad to see. Seemed like they couldn't work without her breathing down their throats. Just felt bad for them

Bad website. Nothing in Stock...why leave it on the site if it is not there? No filters on the side for size, colour etc. Utterly pointless
