Beware of dice

They keep sending me job recommendations that are bad. I can't log in now It keeps saying I need to verify. I've tried six times to verify and it won't send me the email to verify. I've unsubscribed and listed them as spam but they still have my info and I'm trying to get the m to delete it now

DICE Complaint

04/10/25 OMG! It's now been over two weeks and yet Dice hasn't bothered to fix its broken search engine. My best guess is that they just don't give a damn. You'd think a company in the tech industry would have the brains to get it done. Thankfully, there are other job boards that do get it right.

Could you please let me know why when I set the following search criteria jobs from across the country are appearing in my search results:

"Contract",
"On-Site",
"Supply Chain",
"Sacramento, CA",

as those search results include:

"Remote or Columbus, Indiana USA"
"Remote or San Jose, California, USA"
"Remote and Savannah, Georgia, USA".

****************************************

Is it because I set the "Work Setting" in my profile (on a completely different webpage) to "Remote", because that would be super dumb to use that criteria to override my search results.

I don't understand as my profile page should have absolutely nothing to do with my search criteria as that would confuse the entire search process.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what the hang-up is. Please advise. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting us. To optimize the results of your searches, I would suggest using a Boolean string. Listed below are examples of Boolean strings using the terms Java Developer, JavaScript, and HTML.

If you were to look for a job as a Java Developer, or involving JavaScript, you would write the Boolean string as follows:

("Java Developer" OR JavaScript)

Now, if you wanted to find a job that also included HTML, you would add it to the Boolean string as follows:

("Java Developer" OR JavaScript) AND HTML
AND is used to combine terms
OR is used to expand options
AND NOT is used to narrow your search by excluding certain terms
Quotation Marks are used to isolate exact phrases, such as "Java Developer"
If you would like to see more information on how to create a Boolean string, check out our Dice Insights page!

Please note, searching for positions by skill, instead of by title, may return more relevant results. This is due to employers describing similar positions with different job titles. Searching for a job by skills will help to locate the positions best fitting your needs.

C'mon Dice Support, you could do a much better job as your answer was totally irrelevant and had nothing to do with my question.

Received a Newsletter email from Dice.com

Received an email from Dice.com that had a link to article I wanted to read. When I clicked the link, it took me to the Apple App Store to load the Dice App. Only problem is I was clicking the link on a Windows 11 computer. It was not a spoofed email as the headers all checked out.

This site has just gone from one of my main go to's for jobsearch to I just won't bother any longer for this reason and many others over the last 6 months.

Their management should be fired for giving us such a crappy experience. Total waste of my time.

Promotes Labor Law Violations

Will blatantly allow companies to violate state labor laws requiring pay transparency when the listing is for a position located in that state. When this has been reported, they will completely ignore the issue and keep the illegal postings up.

This site used to be great but the quality and customer service has gone down the drain to an embarassing level now and I really find it hard to even reccomend them anymore.

Worst recruiting website I have ever…

Worst recruiting website I have ever seen. They quite literally tell you to remove your personal information, name and all from your resume so you can only be contacted through their messaging system. 9/10 jobs posted on a good day are fake, and your information just gets put into database(s) overseas so you can get worthless emails for jobs that may or may not match your skill set, and 99% of the time are not even anywhere near you.

Waste of space on the internet

Waste of space on the internet. Lists of gigs that have no pay ranges listed. The filters do not work. You will get 1500 results for something that could easily be 100 if they actually let you filter dates, pay, and so on. And if you want to apply you have to sign in? Nah. There are way better job searches. Not this one.

Would give 0 stars if possible

Would give 0 stars if possible. This is a predatory company that locks you into opaque contracts that are non-cancellable and renew with 90 days left in the contract (rather than the industry standard of (30 days).

Terrible service with very low results and zero value.

Very poor customer service from the client perspective. My company had a contract with them before I joined and it has been a nightmare since I inherited the relationship. My advice as an operations manager overseeing many business contracts: STAY AWAY FROM DICE

Predatory Auto-Renewing Contracts

The company I work for entered into a 12-month agreement with Dice for our recruiting needs. The contract stipulated that it was a "One-Time" payment and that it was for 12 months, but buried in the fine print was language stating that the contract would auto-renew if we didn't inform them of our wish to cancel 90 days prior to the contract expiring, so we missed it. The only "notification" of our pending deadline we received prior to the date was on slide 19 of a PowerPoint presentation that was a full 6 months before the expiration (and 3 months before the deadline), which we missed while our recruiter was away. They then sent us a 30-day "renewal reminder," and since we had found 0 suitable candidates in that time period informed them of our wish to cancel. We had also significantly rolled back our recruiting at that time period, so paying anyone for a year of recruiting services didn't make sense for us. They informed us that cancelling would be impossible per the contract, and we have been going back and forth with them ever since. They refuse to release us and their collections agency threatened to ruin our credit among other things. This is a highly predatory type of contract that locks you into an unsuccessful service, and they seem to do their best to be as opaque as possible about the terms up front. I advise all businesses to never sign anything with Dice.

Buyer beware

I am a recruiter. This site is a waste of time. In addition their contract stipulates automatic renewal unless they are advised before 90 days of current contract expiration. This is not the industry standard! 30 days is more like it. Then they offer you a “ buyout” of your contract if you don’t notify them before 90 days, or they will automatically renew your contract at full price! 90 days is a very long lead time especially for a small business. And they threaten to sue right away.

Recruiters, stay away from this site. Candidates, too! They cull info from other websites and the internet to make it seem as though they have more candidates than they actually have. So, you end up chasing people who don’t even know their info has been posted as part of Dice’s database.

Waste of time. Thieves.

LOUSY Communication

Concur with the reviews claiming poor communication and service. I encountered a bug wherein I could not favorite a job without constantly getting prompted to sign back in (and upon signing back in, still couldn't save the job). I reached out to support, got one message back telling me to clear my cache or try a different browser. I tried every browser in existence and cleared my cache and history to the point when I bought the PC. Even tried two different PCs with two different OSs. Clearly the problem was on their end. I relayed all this back to them....nothing. I followed up, still nothing. I logged a whole new issue report...and nothing, but now I can mysteriously save jobs again. Great. Glad my issue is resolved, but ACKNOWLEDGE ME man. In this age of social media, it's acceptable to ignore people. That crap has to stop.

Terrible website, service, and company!

Terrible company. They farm out your resume and personal information to a ton of random recruiting companies that have only contacted me for temporary or contract positions, not full-time roles as I've set in my preference. Even after I've deleted my account and information, I am still getting contacted nonstop for completely irrelevant jobs.

Their service, website, algorithm, network and overall company is terrible! I cannot seem to get rid of all the spam phone calls, text messages, emails for completely irrelevant job openings even long after I've deleted my account off the Dice.com website!

Do NOT sign up for this service. Stick to reputable companies and recruiting agencies, or you will regret signing up for and sharing your information on Dice. They do not respect your privacy and you will forever receive spam calls for jobs you did not even want in the first place. Extremely frustrated and disappointed in this company. They should not be operating.

Meh for Remote Positions

Unable to search easily for remote positions. It requires you use your zip code and then displays jobs in that area, which is not helpful at all to someone working remotely. They do have a check box for "work at home" but you don't see it until you've performed your search.

This is 2020 - every IT job site should offer an easy to find/use Remote Only option.
