Dischem Blaauw Village Pretoria North. I walked inside 5 minutes before they closed, I saw a lady standing right by the door. Before I even finished greeting her, she was like 'o batla eng" in a rude manner, which translates to ''What do you want''. I told her I would just like to look for something and then she interrupted me by saying ''We are closed.'' I was shocked and just left, what kind of customer service is this?

Poor Service Delivery-Dischem Pharmacy Bluff & Call center

I thought by switching from personally collecting my chronic script items from Dischem Bluff or Galleria, to Dischem delivery service offered would be better but it's just as bad. Collecting in person had become so frustrating because of how slow the queues move and I didn't want to keep driving all the way there just to pick up chronic so I switched be cause the call center delivery method seemed like it would be much easier and I wouldn't have to drive there. Customer service center service delivery is also just as poo. I've experienced a break in communication and it's not the first time. Last month I was not contacted by the call center to request for me to process my order for my dependent nbr 4. Between the call center and the delivery branch... Item for my depent nbr 4 was supposed to be processed as cash but was charged to my medical aid. CalI center advised they processed it as cash and branch issued it as chronic. Branch advised me that the call center processed it incorrectly. Back to the call center again the agent advised she would contact the branch as it was not the call center's error. I had to then be the one phoning and then was told that the driver would need to come back and pick up the meds so that the branch coukd reverse and re-do correctly, to which I declined and advised the branch agent that I will not and they should just do the reversal and re-do correctly from their side and send the driver back to collect the money to which she agreed ... It finally got re-done correctly however, the driver didn't come back and I had to then drive all the way to the pharmacy to pay the cash, one of the very reasons for switching was to avoid driving to the pharmacy but here I was being out into this situation of driving there! To say I was so annoyed is an understatement. This month was another poor service delivery. No one called from the call center, so I tried using the WhatsApp app for the first time to process my dependent 4. I called the call center to advise them that somehow I had selected my dependents 2 & 3 chronic meds in error and asked them to reverse it, as theirs should be issued at a later date along with mine. Well; the later date was 13June2026 and today is 17thJune2026, still no call again from the call center. I once again call, go through the order with the call center agent advising her I will be ordering for my 2 sons as well. We go through my order with some difficulty as she read the old script of one of my items. After me explaining that I'd already done an in person collection last month on the new script so I don't know why she didn't see that one listed first? Anyways we go through my meds and then I do a re-check with her and she starts thanking me and starts leading to the goodbye but then I quickly interrupt her and advise her she hasn't confirmed my 2 sons' orders. We go through that together and reconfirm and she let's me know it will be ready for collection... Duh, the whole reason I opted for this method was for delivery to address! I thank her and tell her to enjoy her day and a few minutes later she calls back to ask me about the inhaler because in our previous call I advised her I won't be taking any of the inhalers on either of our profiles as it wasn't needed this month. So not to complicate things and confuse her further by going through the whole inhaler story, I just resort to advising her she can just add that then to my order under my profile. A few minutes later I get a WhatsApp msg to "Track my order". After viewing the order I find that the only item processed for me is the inhaler which was the second call she made to me My other 5 chronic meds hadn't been processed and nothing done for both my sons either! I call back and the agent confirms this and wants to proceed to go through the order and packaging process again! I then get advised that the 2 inhalers that I requested to be reversed earlier in the month from my son's which I selected in error when ordering my dependent 4 meds on the app was cancelled and now the new date I can only have this processed through the call center would only be 27th! Both my sons' daily preventative inhalers are almost finished and my eldest's asthma tablet is also finished; because the 13th we were supposed to have received a call from the call center to process this months order which they did not do. I am so done with Dischems pharmacy poor service delivery both on the chronic meds personal collection counter as well as their call center and delivery service. Both me and my sons are in chronic meds, so; I will be taking our new scripts when they're issued to the Checkers pharmacy. My son's have 2 more repeats and this was my last one so for the next 2 months I guess I will have just hold my tongue and bare the frustrations of this poor service delivery for my son's but for me, my new script for next month will be handed in to Checkers.

Dis-Chem Loftus Park

Dis-Chem Loftus Park. I was assisted by Jaco Heyns. What a sterling service. I am very impressed that he knew from the get go that the medication prescribed for my doctor has been discontinued for years. I started at Wilson’s and Clicks Hatfield, I even called Clicks Brooklyn and SunnyPark without luck.
Jaco Heyns said “this has been discontinued, I will call the doctor to request for another option” and he did exactly that, the doctor gave a go ahead for another medication.

Kudos to you Jaco. Thank you very much!

LIFESTYLE NEW MARKET

I have been very patient with the service at the New Market Lifestyle Dis-Chem Dispensary dispensary. On numerous occasions, I have experienced poor customer service. Staff members are often engaged in conversations while customers are left waiting at the collections desk with little to no acknowledgment.

Unfortunately, the same situation occurred again today. What made the experience even more disappointing was that I asked three times for assistance from a lady seated approximately a meter away from me at the dispensary. She simply gave me an unpleasant stare and did not respond at all.

I find this type of treatment unacceptable. Customers should be treated with professionalism, courtesy, and respect at all times. If employees are unhappy or unwilling to assist customers, it raises the question of why they choose to work in a customer service environment in the first place.

Critical Patient Safety Failure at Dis-Chem HealthForce Clinic

I visited the Dis-Chem Mushroom Farm (Waterfall) clinic yesterday for a mild cold.

During my consultation with the nurse, I explicitly stated that I take Antabuse, a medication that causes a severe and dangerous reaction when combined with alcohol. I also clearly stated that I did not want any medication containing codeine.

Despite this, I was connected to a remote doctor via the HealthForce video platform, to whom I again clearly communicated both of these medical requirements.

The doctor proceeded to prescribe Throflam-Co and Adco-Napacod — both of which contain ingredients that are potentially fatal for someone taking Antabuse and/or avoiding codeine.

Fortunately, I have a personal rule of researching all medications before taking them. I did not purchase or consume the medication. Had I not done this, the consequences could have been medically serious or life-threatening.

This is a critical patient safety failure at two levels.

No patient should have to rely solely on their own research to avoid being harmed by a prescription they explicitly raised concerns about.

I went to Dis-Chem Pharmacies in…Steeldale shopping centre for an implant removal

I went to Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Steeldale Shopping center(Johannesburg) to remove my Implant, I was assisted by Paulina. I am not sure if anyone has ever had to label that experience as "wonderful" But mine was, Im typing this review, 5 hours later , bandage still on and The only pain I experienced was the sting of the injection. I believe the entire procedure took 15 minutes. I have to mention that its only R220. I heard about this service through word of mouth, Im writing this review so you dont.

Incomplete Product Information

A lot of products in sports supplements have incomplete information. This is against consumer protection. Whoever is managing the online trading of Dischem should pull up his socks. USN PRO Recover 1kg

I have had issues applying for the baby…

I have had issues applying for the baby programme since the 12-12-25 on the Dischem app which now can only be done on the app of late.

The staff at the Parow branch could not assist me. However I sent an email to customer care and I got help from Tracy Krebs who resolved my issue on the 03-01-26

She was patient and persistent in trying to resolve my issue, consistent in her communication which I very much appreciated. She helped resolve my issue and confirmed the details on my profile have been updated .

Big thank you to you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Tracy Krebs.

PS. The five stars are for her and not the Dischem Parow Branch.

Dis-chem Potchefstroom pharmacy I met a young lady named Lesedi she helped me get the new card it was very fast and the service was wonderful, I managed to save a lot of money with Dis-chem better rewards card. Thank you Dischem Potchefstroom pharmacy for wonderful staff from dispensary to the security at the door

Dischem reward card

Changing from my old dischem card to a new benefit card was so easy with the help from Lesedi at dischem potchefstroom took less than 3 minutes and she well explained how the reward card works

Waiting times in queues way too long

Please open more tills at Dischem Baywest branch in PE. Last Sunday afternoon around 12.30 there were only 2 tills open and the queue was astronomically long to wait in for over an hour to buy a few items. You are going to lose customers. I for one will never go shop there again any time soon. It's ridiculous. Prices are already so high then still greedy to open a few more tills to cut queue lengths. What a disgrace.

Dischem I will no longer support and…

Dischem I will no longer support and neither will my friends and family. I was denied vital medication from a script and was denied due to a technicality. The staff showed portrayed a unconcerned attitude. All scripts will now be taken elsewhere as well as the monthly grocery purchases, and I will continue to give bad reviews and steer potential customers away. Your repeat prescription reminders are a farce.

Don't bother making an appointment

Don't bother making an appointment, the nurse will leave you waiting while she walks around and chats to other staff. When you query the delay you will be told to be patient. Clearly the staff place no value on your time.
