Enjoyed our short stay at Polly 's Place. From the welcoming bottle of wine to the lovely views over the harbour. Everything was in place to ensure a comfortable stay. Would recommend and will investigate other possible Discovery holiday homes for future breaks.

We have just returned from a fabulous week’s holiday in Torbay, where we had a wonderful stay at the Pink Bungalow. The property is located on a quiet street, is extremely comfortable and furnished to a very high standard throughout. The kitchen is very modern and the dining area benefits from a sunny disposition. The bungalow has gas central heating so it’s warm and comfortable in every room. The location is best suited for those who have their own transport but even if you don’t, both the beach and the local shops are only a short walk away. The bungalow has a lovely garden both at the front and back, with some sloping steps leading up to the property. Whilst these would not be suitable for wheelchair users, my 86-year-old mum with limited mobility had no problem getting up or down. I would recommend the Pink Bungalow to anyone planning a holiday in the Torbay area as it really does have everything you need, and is in a perfect location to explore the English Riviera.

we had a fantastic stay in devon. the accomodation was faultless and it felt like we were staying in a lovely hotel. it was exceptionally well equipped with beautiful furnishings and quality finishes. it was a very good size with everything required for a comfortable stay. the location was perfect, close to everything we needed and quiet enough to get a good rest whilst away. the communication with the team was fantastic and they were really friendly and exceptionally well organised. it was brilliant that there was a keysafe at the property. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to friends and family of all ages due to its versatility. we would definately return in the future.

Can't rate it highly enough,it was that good,lovely welcome,superb room with outstanding unspoiled views.can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful, Summer holiday as an extended family at Hawks Cay, Shaldon. Our ages ranged from 9 to 79. The house was superb for our needs both as far as accommodation was conerned and the high standards of the property - beautifully clean and maintained. We also appreciated the luxurious, stylish design and finish to the house making our stay there feel like a treat. The boys (9 and 11) enjoyed the Devon edition of Monopoly - they played it on and off all week along with the other games and loved the 3D TV experience along with the ice making machine on the fridge - as did the adults! We all loved sitting in the pretty courtyard, popping out to the local shops especially the Yummy Shop opposite and enjoying the local restaurants. The friendly, seaside feel of the village was fun, vibrant and very picturesque. We were very well looked after by James and Karen who left us several jugs of gorgeous fresh flowers and who were a tremendous help to us. There was a magnificent sponge cake awaiting us and other goodies too! Lovely comfty beds - pure luxury!.. I could go on!..... In summary a wonderful holiday in a very special place! We wish we'd had longer as there was so much to see and do so we will have to return. Thank you all who were a part of creating it!

This was our second year of visit and it was even better than the first one!We stayed for a week at the highest level of the condom and the view from our balcony was simply breathtaking!The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean, beautiful pool area, friendly staff. We will definately stay next year here as well!!!

Shaldon beach hut 2. Thos was the most wonderful experience. Cosy, classy, clean and so well laid out. The location was superb and the locals are so friendly. I will certainly return to this hut. Discovety holiday homes are so helpful and give that personal touch. I will certainly use them again.

Cottage was clean, fairly spacious and well equipped in terms of crockery etc, however it was a little run down and due for redecoration in some areas. Th garden was a bit messy and didn't look like it had been swept for a while. The house had 3 double rooms, but hot water would run out after 2 people had showered which wasn't good.
A parking space was provided at the rear of the cottage but the lane leading to it is very narrow, the parking area is shared with the neighbors who park 2 cars (sometimes 3) there and seemed a bit disgruntled that we were parking here, not leaving us much room to park and on one occasion I had to squeeze out of our rental car damaging the door on the wall as the neighbor parked so far over.

Overall our holiday was good, the cottage is in a good location on the edge of the village and Shaldon is so picturesque, but I wouldnt stay in this cottage again.

This little place is charming and in a very convenient location. It is nicely decorated and well equipped. There was plenty of room in the small bedroom for my daughter's toddler bed and the travel cot fit nicely in the master bedroom. Really useful to have a washing machine. Definitely set up for dogs - there was evidence there had been dogs there recently which wasn't ideal for my crawling 9 month old getting covered in hair. The reason not 5 star was due to a few lights being out, a panel missing from the kitchen meaning the bin wasn't properly enclosed so could make the place smell and the dog hair on the floor and furniture.

Foys Cottage in Chetnole is comfortable, spacious and well equipped, and has a nice garden, so there is the option of spending a pleasant day at the cottage if one does not want to go out. We particularly liked the bedrooms and bathrooms, and the fact that there was unlimited hot water and plenty of spare towels.
Considering the price that is charged, we would make the following observations:
The cottage is very clean upstairs and in the downstairs bathroom, but the kitchen-diner and lounge could do with a really thorough cleaning and dusting;
The kitchen units need to be modernised, and the expelair above the cooker seems grubby;
The electrical system should be checked - the light switch in the kitchen gets warm, and some lights flicker at first when turned on;
The car parking space is a tight squeeze for a large car when turning in - we found it best to drive in and reverse out down the little lane. There is a wall of the car-port that is difficult to see when reversing out as it is obscured by hedging.
The cottage is located in an attractive village and there is a pub that serves very good food.

We stayed here in August for one week. The apartment owner greeted us warmly and was very helpful and left us to get on with our holiday, although she was close by if we needed her. The apartment was light, bright and we felt at home immediately and it was spotlessly clean. This apartment contained absolutely everything we needed and more. This apartment was ideally situated for Torquay to enable us to walk 5 minutes to shops and restaurants in the evening but was also quiet in a nice area away from the main strip. Yes it was uphill back in the evening but expected in Devon. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family and would choose this apartment when we return.

Salty house is a stunning property, very spacious and decorated at a high standard. The views over the estuary and Teignmouth is lovely.

This is the second year we have stated at Balcony Belle and it feels so homely we love it.. The views are amazing especially at breakfast time over the beach. The front room makes the apartment what it is, the design and the large floor windows giving you a panoramic view over the beautiful beach is breath taking, all the other rooms really need some modernisation but it won't stop us from booking again next year. A few little things need doing ie only 1 bulb left working in the main bedroom. The door handle to the front room is still broke from last year and not good when you have small children as this fell off and landed near her foot and its a big brass knob. Overall we love the apartment there is something really specially about it, we'd love to buy it.

The cottage we chose: Free Divers Cottage, or Crab and Winkle cottage (it has 2 names, which caused some confusion) was a lovely quirky building with a lovely garden, which sadly we did not get best use of due to the weather. There are a couple of issues with it however. Firstly the drive is very uneven and not safe for 2 cars to park, and it is not possible to park in the road. The drive could easily be fixed, it is long enough, just not safe to drive on further than one cars length. Secondly the rubbish collection is difficult in this part of the world. The neighbours were unhappy with the rubbish having not being collected as the collectors had refused to take it. Holiday makers need clear instructions about how to manage the rubbish and re-cycling, as currently the neighbours are unhappy to the point of being angry and unfriendly.
Thirdly we had a leak from the shower which needed to be fixed- but this was done quickly and efficiently by the maintenance company.

Accommodation OK - could be improved with some clean cushions and throws and some essential items in the kitchen such as baking trays and some cleaning stuff on arrival (clothes, tea towels, etc.). Not sure the last time the carpet was cleaned, but that would be an improvement.
A radio in the kitchen and a clock and mirror down stairs would be useful.
Plus side - good shower in the bathroom.

Oyster Cottage is more suited to a couple. Parking is a pain. Would be better if the owner could supply a parking permit for a designated space - I can only imagine in high season, it would be even more difficult. Cottage well situated for the great facilities in Shaldon, very friendly village with everything you could wish for. The cream tea left for our arrival was a lovey touch, the bath could do with a step as its rather high to get in and out of, an elderly person may struggle.

We received a very personal service from Sue at Discovery Holiday Homes. She listened and understood what we were looking for and even suggested some suitable properties for us. The one we chose was exactly as Sue had described and what we were looking for. Unusually so, for a holiday letting agency, they really know their properties are always happy to check anything and get back to you. Our cottage was great. In a fabulous location with easy walking access to the sea and town and steam train station. The Churston Arms is worth a visit and really dog friends as was our cottage. We walked, talked, ate lots of fresh fish, sunk a few cool beers, and relaxed and read a book! Thank you.
