A brilliant service - definitely recommend!

A brilliant service from a very helpful company. They were able to attend the same day and were very polite, explained what they were going to do at each stage informing me of cost. They sent me the footage so that I can share with my landlord and explained exactly what could be seen in the videos. Answered all my questions and did a brilliant job. A very happy satisfied customer and would definitely recommend them.

Although there is a couple of bad reviews on here i struggle to see how… because i couldn’t recommend them as a company enough.

My personal experience overall was very good.
The engineer had great communication and time keeping leading up to the job he was with us within 2 hours of me ringing the company!
Before starting the job he went through
the rates with me that i had already been quoted over the phone and made sure i was happy to go ahead.
Although yes it wasn’t ‘cheap’ but was still very reasonable, and definitely not overpriced!
But how can you expect cheap labour working with sewers and specialist equipment with safety factors involved?

The engineer kept me updated through out the whole time on site.
There was evidently a broken part of pipework with roots in the system, (he showed me the cctv on the screen of inside the pipes) that was also the cause of the original blockage.
Then recommended a rootcut and reline sleeve as apposed to digging it all up.
Saving me money and mess.
Fixed price quote was very reasonable and definitely affordable for your average working person.
All of the works carried out was sent out in a detailed full report through the post
and overall i think this is a great local company!

Definitely do not let any bad individual reviews put you off using these… Great genuine people

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Disappointed to the extreme. The company were professional at first. They were quick to come out to look at a leak from the drains under my house. The guy then scared me telling me that the insurance company won't pay if they look at it as its clay and told me that they will write the report to give me the best chance for an insurance pay out.

The insurance company were disgusted at the report. The cctv tv videoed on a phone from the screen. The awful videos were so 'grainy' that the insurance company cannot see anything therefore refuse to pay me anything! 4.5k. There was also no evidence for the insurance company that the work was actually completed! I feel I have been conned by this company.

I have called and emailed to ask for a better report and no reply or even acknowledgement.

Having read the replies to reviews left I am fully expecting an argumentive reply. I will be going to trading standards.

Please take the time to think about what you are saying and think about what actually happened.
Your insurance company sent a leak detection company out who told you the drain was leaking. They ruled out every other possibility.
Our survey showed clay drains that had deteriorated which your insurance company will class as ‘wear and tear’ or ‘gradual deterioration’ neither of these things are covered by ANY insurance company. You are only covered for ‘accidental damage’ ‘subsidence’ or possibly for ‘trace and access’ and/or ‘investigating the escape of water’ but note that for the last one they do not cover you for ANY repair. Subsidence usually has a £1000 excess but could be used in this instance. Trace and access is the work involved in locating the problem - solving high they had done. Accidental damage would be point loading ( eg a drain under a road, or driveway taking additional weight periodically) or root ingress - neither of which are applicable.
So that leaves you with Subsidence causing the drains to open up and leak, it’s down to the insurance company to prove it was ‘wear and tear’ or ‘gradual deterioration’
We didn’t scare you into anything, you needed your drains to stop leaking under your house and asked us to assist - you literally approached us with the problem. The only way we could have made your report better would be to convince your insurance company to pay you. So please explain how we are to do that without lying or falsifying the survey.
Your review isn’t accurate or fair.
You did email in and we replied within 24 hours but you did not read it and then posted this review. I have since spoken to you to try to explain, the engineer who visited has spoken to you. We even offered to re attend and record the drain with proper software ( water board approved ) to prove the work is done.
If we had made a clearer report then they would have had to refuse your claim based on their clauses. That would make you annoyed with them -that would have been much better for us but terrible to you so we took a gamble to help you. I really wish we hadn’t tried to assist you now because you are making libelous comments when you should be logging a complaint to your insurance company and then asking the ombudsman to investigate - which gives you a chance of recovering your costs.
You were never going to be covered for the work, that was made clear at the outset.
I’m sorry you have had to fork out for a repair to stop rising damp. I am sorry that you have insurance that won’t cover you for the escape of water.
I do hope that you pursue your insurance company through the ombudsman and recover some of your costs.

Very high prices

I was charged a much higher price than I anticipated for a blocked drain.

Called them out to unblock a small outdoor drain, and it cost £670 which is significantly more than I think is reasonable (1.5 hrs on site).

The owner prefers to argue and threaten legal action than resolve issues.

So Kate instructed us to unblock her drain but was unsure where each drain run connected to. We worked on the point that she directed us to, where the blockage seemed apparent, but it became clear it was wasn’t working so we suggested that we used CCTV to locate the problem and Kate agreed that this was a good idea. We then continued to clear the blockage. We showed Kate that we had removed the fatberg - and showed it to her - but because the pricing structure bills the clearance work ( labour and jetting ) 1-2 hourly instead of hourly, Kate felt that there was a crossover with the fixed price survey and the clearance work. After clearing the fatberg we made sure the line was free of excess fats by using the CCTV again (at no additional cost) and then continuing to use the high pressure jets. At this point we were already into the second half hour - which meant the charge would be one hour - so we decided to use that time productively and ensure no further fats were still left in the line. After all if we have spent 40 mins to clear a blockage, who wants it to reblock within the next month or two?. Once complete we then used CCTV again to ensure that we had done the best job we could have done considering the difficulty and the complexity of it. The CCTV was a fixed price already and the clearance work had already stopped. We had logged all the times:- Arrival, start and completion - we had got approval at every stage and obtained 4 signatures from Kate authorising each part of the work that we did and then a 5th signature to confirm the work and the charges were correct. We finished the unblock 10 mins after the time we have billed for ( which is all logged and signed for ) in addition to this we were still working on site for a further hour at our own cost. This is the basis that she has been using to claim she has been charged for work that she didn’t ask for even though we have billed less time than we have logged and worked more time than we have logged.
Kate felt - after 24 hours and being told by her family - that we had overcharged her so wrote to inform us late the next night, then again the following morning demanding a refund. Before we could gather the information Kate left a negative review here , stating that she had been ripped off and didn’t authorise any of the work. We emailed back and We explained it clearly but it took a couple of days for Kate to understand the Maths. Until she did she stated that we had ripped her off and charged her for doing work that she hadn’t authorised or wanted. Despite our best efforts to assure her that we had only done what she asked and the additional work was complimentary- as a gesture of good will - Kate demanded a refund. She based this on the fact that we PROBABLY spent less time than we recorded, her opinion in hindsight was that we spent 20 mins less than we charged for …….we charge for every 30 mins so please do the maths……. She ASSUMED that the blockage that she saw was the entirety of the job and claims she didn’t authorise us to ensure that we had fully cleared the line - in hindsight she suggests we should have just partially cleared the line and then left despite knowing it would reblock immediately.
Kate has left 4 different reviews now, maybe 5, and emailed stating that if we refund her the amount dictated by her broken maths then she will remove the reviews. We have tried our best to appease this woman but sometimes logic and reasoning doesn’t work - I don’t know why.

Dear Kate, the survey was a fixed price, it was authorised by you prior to identifying the location of your problem and was instrumental in the clearance of the blockage in your drains.
The fact that they used the camera to check the rest of your drains did not affect the price in any way. They carried out the additional work as a courtesy as you had already paid for it.
I am sorry for any confusion this has caused.

Very disappointed

Disappointed. The first visit for 60 pounds, but then they came back the next day because I didn't think they'd done it properly, and charged me ten times that. Very bad situation and embrassing. No follow up contact to discuss it. I won't be going back to them.

Their response to the review below shows arrogance and lack of empathy with people who feel the need to complain.

I was unaware that you were not satisfied with the job we carried out 2 weeks ago.
Our bill was £400 not £600. - So as I told the previous reviewer please stick to the facts and don’t try to make it sound worse than it is.

We attended quickly and were shown a gully and cleared it instantly. We were told, by the tenant in the shop, that the rest of the line was water board responsibility - which means we can’t work on it - but you had been too impatient to wait - her words.
We discussed this with you and YOU stated that there was a great deal of fat build up that needed to be jetted out every now and again, because tenants kept pouring things down that hey shouldn’t, and it was your responsibility. You wanted us to write that it was the tenants responsibility -
At this point I am unsure whose responsibility it is - So maybe that is a factor at present.
Your concern was that the shop gets flooded when it blocked due to the poor design and layout when the building was converted. You asked to jet the line clear and flush out all the deposits to ensure the rains would not flood into the shop.
We recommended a simple fix to divert the rainwater downstream of the gully that gets blocked up by the tenants.
You requested that we tank the cellar shop externally and we just aren’t able to do that due to the positioning of the manholes being so close to the building. I am surprised and disappointed in your review since you seemed so happy with the work up until we declined to carry out the repairs you requested.
Even then you gave us no indication that you were unhappy.
Perhaps you could have spoken to us to discuss this before leaving this review.
FYI the review you refer to was left by a woman who was only interested in blackmailing us. She actually edited that review 6-7 times because she had spitefully lied and put libelous remarks and made false statements. Hence her comment that I threatened legal action if the lies stayed published. I’m all for customer service but I will not be bullied or blackmailed.
I would like the opportunity to understand what has caused you to leave a negative review.
