I can’t believe how beautiful this custom gown is! I’ve never had a customized gown ordered online so I was a bit nervous at first but they answered all my questions very promptly and I was able to obtain my measurement’s accurately. They also double checked with me when some of the measurements seem off. I can’t wait to wear this for my tea ceremony!

They worked so quickly to get my custom cheongsam in time! Instructions were easy and they were easy to communicate with. My family truly appreciated that they were able to create a piece for me that was functional and timeless.

I ordered the Mabel Bespoke Dress and it fits me like a glove! The form and the tips on measuring were so detailed that you know the dress would fit you well. Thank you to the girls at EMD because they were so so helpful - they emailed to clarify some of my measurements to make sure it was correct. The dress itself is so detailed and delicate and it's beautiful!
I'm Japanese and my husband's cultural background is Hong Kong. We both wanted to include our cultural elements into our wedding. We were able to include Japanese themed decorations, and the dress and the chopsticks from EMD were the cultural nod to my husband's. The Phoebe dress fit perfectly and was so comfortable to wear. I got SO many compliments from our friends and family (many of whom who are unfamiliar with Chinese traditions) who said they’d never seen such a beautiful dress before. As a first generation Asian-American, I had a hard time finding the right qipao without my mom’s help and without being able to shop in-person but EMD exceeded my expectations. Listen up. East Meets Dress is just another Ali Express/Alibaba/TaoBao reseller. Nothing they sell on their website is "made to order" to "reduce waste." You can find their tea sets, Qun Kwa, Dragon Gate Heels, Ruby Hairpin set and more on ali for one third of the price. I dont mean similar, I mean EXACT MATCHES from the ORIGINAL BRANDS. Not one bit of it is as high end.

Not to mention, the Qun Kwa I got from them arrived dirty, with damaged buttons, and sewing errors. You know, the type of stuff you expect from Ali Ex, but not from a wedding boutique.

Dont waste your money or time here.

I bought Rachel Bespoke Dress for my wife and she loved it. The dress is effortlessly fun and vibrant. It is made with a red and gold phoenix patterned fabric is perfect for showing off your heritage at any event. Highly recommended!

I would highly recommend East Meets Dress! I ordered the Rachel Bespoke Dress and the quality of it was great! The shipping was very quick and it arrived within 4 weeks. I do want to highlight the amazing customer service I experienced with them. When my dress arrived, it was a bit too large at the waist and it needed tailored. I realized that I provided incorrect measurements, but they still provided exceptional service and gave a credit to help with the cost of alterations.

When I got engaged and was thinking about wedding dresses, I knew I wanted to get a dress that highlighted both my Taiwanese background and my American upbringing and was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find a dress that captured what I wanted...until I found East Meets Dress. I was able to attend their popup in San Francisco earlier this year so it really helped with figuring out which dress I wanted.

I ended up getting the Maxine dress and asked if they could make a custom removable tulle overskirt (similar to the Mindy train) so I could have two wedding looks. They were receptive to doing the customization and listed concerns I didn’t think of with this customization (they hadn’t done anything like this before, the different materials may look weird together, etc.), showing they really cared about customer satisfaction and the quality of their work. I trusted that they would be able to achieve my vision and they did not disappoint! I received update photos as they were finishing up the skirt and it looked so beautiful and cohesive I actually asked for photos of the dress without the skirt to double-check it was indeed detachable.

The dress and skirt, long with other accessories I purchased from EMD arrived in a nicely packaged box. The dress is a little tight (which I chalk up to quarantine weight gain) but is otherwise perfect.

Beautiful!! I can't wait to wear this on my wedding day! I just needed a slight adjustment to take in the waist but even my tailor commented on the good quality of the dress. Schedule an appointment to chat and view the dresses online! The founders are awesome to work with - very knowledgeable of their products and provides a lot of details for their product. Throughout the ordering process, they explained how to measure my body so that I would get the proper sized products and even offered to make adjustments to customize the dress to my body. (I didn't take this option as I'm still losing weight and will have final tailoring done closer to my wedding date)

I got my dress, shoes, hairpieces and bowtie in the mail in a well packaged box. The shoes fit perfectly and the dress is almost 100% the right size - I just need a few adjustments where they mentioned I would find it a bit larger.

Looking for a Chinese wedding dress can be a daunting mission. Especially if you're wanting a qi pao as it is a more tight fitting garment. With a total lack of any physical stores where I live that stock wedding qi pao's, I turned to online. East Meets Dress was excellent. I ordered a standard size, but they still emailed me with a follow up survey to ensure that the size I purchased is the best fit for me. They did not have to do that! I ended up buying a larger size as my future MIL is a seamstress. The dress was beautiful and arrived before the anticipated timeline. I can't wait to wear it for my tea ceremony.

I got the Melinda dress. It looks even better than the pictures on their website! The fabric is of high quality and the dress has this beautiful gold thread running through it that shimmers when the light hits.

The purchase process was easy, and the customer service was helpful. I am between sizes and I asked them for a recommended size. The recommended size fits well on me and only requires slight alterations.

So helpful and quick to respond from my very first email inquiry. The custom dress directions were easy to follow and took less than 30 minutes. I paid for the standard production time of 16 weeks but my fully custom dress came SO FAST; like 2 months early and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Fits pretty much perfectly with some wiggle room to take in here and there but that’s totally fine with me. Also the packaging was so cute; they included little stickers and Chinese candies, so sweet! You can just tell everyone working here from customer service, production, shipping and customer follow up just pays such attention to the details and it really shows. Definitely recommend working with this amazing small business!
