Trust the facts and your instincts...

I am the other customer involved in the shipment that "earned" a 1-star review below, and I feel compelled to leave my own review because EasyGroupage’s public response to my husband’s review on Google Maps is misleading and does not reflect our experience.

We paid EasyGroupage / OPTIMOVE for an international move from France to Texas. We did not contract with their destination agent or subcontractor. Yet when the shipment finally arrived, the delivery paperwork recorded 119 boxes received and 56 boxes missing.

EasyGroupage now says this was based on “our own box-checking process.” That is not an acceptable explanation. The delivery paperwork was completed at delivery and signed/accepted at delivery. If EasyGroupage’s agent failed to conduct the process properly, that is not our fault. It is EasyGroupage’s responsibility to ensure that its subcontractors handle delivery correctly.

EasyGroupage also says a recount was offered and “refused.” That is misleading. After waiting months for our belongings, the boxes that did arrive were unpacked. There were no longer 119 boxes sitting untouched to recount. More importantly, recounting the items that arrived would not prove that the 56 boxes recorded as missing were delivered. It would only count what was already received.

The core problem remains unresolved: EasyGroupage’s earlier documents refer to approximately 173/174 packages in the shipment chain, while the final delivery paperwork records only 119 boxes received and 56 missing. EasyGroupage has not provided a convincing explanation reconciling that discrepancy.

Some delivered items were also damaged or broken. We also paid based on a higher volume than what appears to have arrived, and EasyGroupage has rejected that issue as well.

Regarding mediation, EasyGroupage publicly claims that it provided the necessary AME Conso information. In reality, we spent significant time trying to find EasyGroupage / OPTIMOVE in AME Conso’s online system using the company name, trade name, SIREN, and SIRET, without success. We asked EasyGroupage for the exact filing link, membership reference, convention number, or company identifier needed to file. That should have been simple to provide.

In my opinion, EasyGroupage’s handling of this dispute has been dismissive, circular, and deeply frustrating. A customer should not have to fight this hard just to have a documented shortage taken seriously.

I would strongly caution anyone considering EasyGroupage for an international move, especially if the shipment involves groupage, subcontractors, long-distance delivery, or personal items of real value.

As this matter has now been referred to AME Conso mediation, we believe the appropriate forum for addressing the substance of the dispute is the mediation process, where all documents and supporting evidence can be reviewed properly.

We acknowledge that the final verification process at delivery requires further review, and we have requested formal clarification from our destination agent regarding the delivery process, the counting procedure, and the information previously provided to us.

However, this does not constitute acceptance that 56 boxes are missing, nor does it establish that the handwritten notation on the delivery paperwork resulted from a complete and independent contradictory recount.

A physical recount at the storage lockers was proposed shortly after delivery in order to clarify the situation. This recount did not take place, and a full contradictory verification was later no longer possible once part of the goods had been moved and/or unpacked.

We also confirm that the practical AME Conso filing information has now been provided and that the mediation request has been successfully filed.

We will now address this matter through the mediation process.

The worst experience, ever...

We contracted with and paid EasyGroupage / OPTIMOVE for an international move from France to Texas. This has become one of the worst service experiences we have ever had.

The delivery paperwork records 119 boxes received and 56 boxes missing. That shortage was written on the delivery paperwork at the time of delivery. Many of the missing boxes appear to include smaller and higher-value personal items. Several delivered items also arrived damaged or broken.

EasyGroupage’s own documents appear to show approximately 174/175 colis earlier in the shipment chain and 173 colis leaving warehouse / loading, yet the final delivery paperwork records only 119 boxes received and 56 boxes missing. Despite this obvious discrepancy, EasyGroupage has refused to open a missing-items insurance claim and has attempted to treat the issue as if it were merely a paperwork irregularity.

We also paid based on a declared / charged shipment volume of 19 CBM, while later paperwork referred to 17 CBM, and what actually arrived appeared substantially less. We have requested a reconciliation and reimbursement for the volume discrepancy, but EasyGroupage has rejected that as well.

To make matters worse, EasyGroupage entrusted the final delivery to a third-party destination agent. We did not contract with that agent; we contracted with EasyGroupage. During delivery, we were repeatedly given inaccurate information about timing, departure, and arrival, causing us to lose two full workdays waiting at home. EasyGroupage now appears to rely heavily on that same destination agent’s after-the-fact statements while disregarding the signed delivery paperwork showing 56 missing boxes.

We sent a formal registered claim letter. EasyGroupage then identified AME Conso as its consumer mediator, but EasyGroupage / OPTIMOVE does not appear in AME Conso’s searchable directory under EasyGroupage, OPTIMOVE, its SIREN, or its SIRET. We asked the CEO to provide the exact AME Conso directory listing, membership reference, convention number, or direct filing link. He has not responded.

At this point, EasyGroupage has left us with no meaningful recourse other than legal action.

In my opinion, consumers should be extremely cautious before trusting EasyGroupage with an international move, especially if the shipment involves valuable personal items, multiple handlers, groupage, or overseas subcontractors. The company’s response to a documented shortage of 56 boxes has been dismissive, circular, and deeply unsatisfactory.

My move went exceptioanlly well with…

My move went exceptioanlly well with easygroupage. The one thing I liked is that you can comunicate with them, especially Adrien through WhatsApp and he answers within seconds always to help you with a solution. Even Sonia answers emails very quickly and comes all out of her way to help you. Would definitely use Easygroupage again in the future!

Oltre ad essere più economici, da subito si sono dimostrati molto piu' reattivi e professionali degli altri. La scelta si è dimostrata assolutamente felice, visto che la consegna è stata puntualissima, loro sono stati costantemente in contatto e tra l'altro hanno adattato il giorno di consegna a delle esigenze particolari che avevamo a New York. Un grazie particolare a Adrien e Sonia! Complimenti davvero, al prossimo trasloco!

Paid More for Faster Shipping — Still Waiting for Departure

We chose this company based on written assurances that our shipment would depart weekly and that paying a higher price would allow for a quicker departure. Our belongings were collected more than 12 days ago, yet no vessel has been secured and no confirmed departure date has been provided.

Communication has been unclear and key conditions were only disclosed after payment. At this stage, we are still waiting for concrete information regarding shipment dates. I will update this review once the situation is resolved and the shipment is actually dispatched.

The delay was caused by an exceptional road transport strike in Italy (country of departure), impacting container positioning by the shipping line.
This was communicated transparently to you once confirmed by the carrier.
The shipment has now departed and is being closely monitored.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Easygroupage to anyone needing to ship personal effects overseas, in my case door to door from France to New Zealand.
Easygroupage helped me at very short notice. The paperwork needed was easy to deal with and the cost extremely competitive. They did all the packing and stored everything in their warehouse until the container was ready to go. Very reactive in their communication from the start to the very end with my shipment arriving a few months later at my door in perfect condition including large paintings. Easygroupage was a pleasure to deal with.

I had a complex relocation from Spain…

I had a complex relocation from Spain to Dubai, and EasyGroupage handled it exceptionally well. The entire process had to be managed remotely, as my family and I were already in Dubai, and all belongings had to be collected, packed, and shipped without our physical presence.

Despite this challenge, the team managed everything flawlessly:

They coordinated directly with my representative on-site.

All packing was done professionally, including several fragile electronics (PC, monitors, projector).

Everything arrived in perfect working condition, with no damage whatsoever.

Communication was clear, fast, and consistent throughout the entire move.

I had a bad experience

I had a bad experience, There was no care given to my belongings with many of them getting damaged, I was of the opinion that the 40 foot container would arrive at my new home but instead it arrived in a small lorry and two small pick up trucks, all vehicles had there tail gate down with my stuff tied on there and sheeted over, The items were crammed in as the vehicles were not big enough to take the load. I was compulsory told to take out my own insurance and also told to register a complaint within ten days in writing for a claim, which I did but now the insurance tell me that they will not honour all of my claim as I had sent a full list of the damages after the ten days. The cost of my move was €14000 and the company have damaged my goods and got away with this, I am discussed, I do not know if this is the sort of thing that happens with removal companies or if I just made a bad choice. I have many photos that I would love to share but I do not see anywhere to include them. In reply to their reply. I did not want the hassle so sent them a message saying I would accept 300, they refused this and said they wanted itemised costs, which where very much more than my kind offer. As for the delivery, I had an articulated lorry with a crane and another big lorry deliver me 2500 building blocks and they drove down the driveway. The lorry and the pickup trucks could not be the same volume as a 40 foot high capacity container, indeed all three vehicles had their tail gaits down with my belongings loaded precariously and sheeted over with tarpaulin. The damage to my goods was extensive due to it being crammed in to a space too small for it. There are many companies to choose from, please be careful who you choose.

Your delivery address in Thailand could not be accessed by a 40-foot container — this was communicated before the move. For this reason, the final delivery was carried out with a large padded 50m³ truck (the “small lorry” you mention) and, for the remaining items, a pickup truck. This is a common and often necessary practice in Thailand due to road and access limitations.

Regarding the insurance, you were informed from the beginning of AXA’s standard conditions, including the ten-day deadline to submit the full claim. Your first declaration — within the deadline — was for €300, and a later, more complete list was unfortunately submitted after the allowable period, which is why the insurer rejected it.
Despite this, we still issued compensation from our side as a goodwill gesture.

I’m sincerely sorry that the outcome left you disappointed. If you need any further clarification or wish to discuss the case again, I remain available to help.
