If you purchase little things on eBay from Indian and other third world countries.

If you purchase little things, or small used items, it's a real hit and miss. Like vintage watches, from India. Because the guarantee will require you to pay for parcel return via fully trackable post. With Canada post this is often more expensive then the original item, and you are not compensated for this cost. So, even if there is refund or eBay guarantee, it's worthless, since the additional post to return a defective item is to expensive in Canada. And you are not compensated. If you try with a cheaper version with a Tracking number and pictures etc. eBay will not honour this. So, you just waste your time. Even if you raise a dispute and appeal, and send pics and docs it will not matter. Especially for items out of India, or Middle East, or Philippines. And many that offer free shipping it will take so long to get to your, you can not even leave feedback, since the window for feedback is short in many cases. So, if you order what seems like a good deal, especially from dealer like 'King.Yaser" kiss your money good bye. Don't bother with shipping back, nor trying to initiate a claim with Ebay. Waste of time and frustrating just to be told basically "too bad". Maybe Amazon is better, or just go to manufacture's own website. Might pay more, but at least some satisfaction, and you might get something that works. Used to buy lots on eBay, but am switching now, after a few frustrating situations. Even if I do buy something, I now know it's totally Buyer Beware and you may be totally out the cash period. You can take their (eBay) little text about buyers wanting to keep their reputations good, since you can not go and give them feedback if something takes long to deliver. Must be a setting by seller as some leave it up for long. Nor will bad comments on their store site be listed.

I had 2 bad transactions with Ebay

I had 2 bad transactions with Ebay. 1st time I send back a parcel and they lost it and told me they refund me just if they found it, and it didn't happen.

2nd I gave a bad feedback to a seller because the piece didn't fit and Ebay reverse my feedback.

That's it, i'm fed up of Ebay.

Multiple purchase from eBay.ca on sellers from China with 98% positive feedback

I've made multiple purchase on ebay.ca more than a month ago and almost 2 months in a few days. Out of the 12 orders I have placed, Only 1 reached me. 11 of the 12 came from China. None of them reached me. The only one that reached me was from Australia. ALL THOSE SHOPS (FROM CHINA) HAVE 98% POSITIVE FEEDBACK. YET, THIS HAPPENED!!!

Some of the shops from china were very rude when I was reaching out to them so I escalated my complaints to Paypal. Paypal was very good and understood my concerns. They did an investigation and I got my refunds.

It was not worth the stress and the waiting. It was a very very very bad experience. First time using ebay and it was a validation of my trust issues on ebay.

Aside from that, I bought AS A GUEST. They have ways on how you can track your orders and talk to the sellers as a guest. BUT THEY DO NOT WORK. So I had to create an account so that I could message the sellers.

COMPLAIN PROCESS:

I tried putting my complain on ebay but it takes so much process and it was a total bullcrap. I finnay got a way to get their number. I called, difficult to understand the person I was talking to, after that, I was asked for details about my order and made me wait. MADE ME WAIT FOR ALMOST HALF AN HOUR. I am not sure if it's because I had so many orders to complain about but they made me wait for so long. After that, I did not hear anything else. The operator did not say anything. I just waited on the phone then there was a ring. Apparently, without any notice, without even asking me if I have further concerns, they freakin forwarded me to Paypal.

DO NOT ORDER IN EBAY SHOPS FROM CHINA. THEY DO NOT PROVIDE SHIPMENT DETAILS, DO NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES AND EVEN TO PAYPAL'S REQUEST FOR THEIR RESPONSE REGARDING THE ISSUE. ALL THOSE SHOPS HAVE 98% POSITIVE FEEDBACK. YET, THIS HAPPENED!!! THE ONLY ONE THAT MADE IT TO ME WAS THE ONE THAT CAME FROM AUSTRALIA.

eBay is my first go to

I've just bought on eBay before but it feels like such a safe process with PayPal because they really protect the consumer from getting ripped off.

Great prices, great support

I have both bot and sold on Ebay. I have had a few issues with Asian suppliers sending fake tracking numbers, not delivering or delivering late. But the customer support has always been great on Ebay, I usually get a refund within 2 weeks of the maximum expected shipping date. As for selling there has been no complaints and everyone has been fair and forgiving giving generally positive reviews. I found Ebay always scary at first but I have found it's very safe and easy to use. My only issue has been when receiving refunds from Ebay, they send it in the suppliers preferred currency rather than the original price/currency paid, so when receiving refunds I usually lose money on the exchange.

Solid choice all day every day

eBay has so much stuff it is unbelievable. I have never had any problems, altho I only buy from trusted sellers just for piece of mind. Whenever I'm looking for something out of the ordinary or some household good, ebay's got it and for cheap! Long live eBay!

I trust and shop EBAY

I have found EBAY has a great customer service. As a buyer I find ebay easy to get around. I find EBAY has rules set in place which makes buyers feel very comfortable buying from their website. If you buy something and it is broken doesn't work or not as described you get a refund and THEY pay for shipping. Which I feel is only fair since it was no fault of mine that they send me a faulty item.
Ebay has helped me in the past when I left a item far after the date that was given to me to ask for a refund because I didn't receive yet. No problem what so ever. When you shop EBAY and use PayPal you are covered for everything :)
