I had an extremely disappointing…
I had an extremely disappointing experience with EllieMD and feel their subscription/renewal process is misleading and poorly communicated.
I originally signed up for a 3-month tirzepatide program using my HSA/FSA card. The upfront charge was $897. I was under the impression that continuing treatment required actively logging back into the portal and choosing to continue, especially because the emails I received said things like “log in to continue your journey.”
I intentionally did NOT log back in because I did not want to reorder.
Months later, without any clear order confirmation or warning email saying a new prescription was actively being processed, I suddenly discovered a pending charge of $897 for another automatic shipment.
I immediately contacted customer service while the charge was still pending and requested cancellation. I was told there was “nothing they could do,” despite their own policies appearing to mention cancellation before pharmacy fulfillment. I requested a supervisor and was told I would receive a callback within 15 minutes. No callback ever came. I later received an email claiming they attempted to call me, but there was no missed call or voicemail.
I also submitted written support tickets requesting cancellation of both the order and membership.
To make matters worse, the medication itself did not work for me at all compared to previous experiences I’ve had elsewhere using same medication, which made this entire situation even more upsetting.
My biggest issue is not even the medication — it’s the lack of transparency around the recurring billing and the inability to easily stop or cancel before fulfillment despite immediate attempts to do so.
Consumers should read every single renewal clause extremely carefully before signing up.

They state the prescribed product will last two months, if they followed standard research based dosing it will last three weeks max. They will tell it’s the “longevity” protocol which means you will feel nothing despite their claims of it may help with focus, clarity, etc. STAY AWAY! They have people all over social media selling their products with zero clue about how these peptides work. They get major kickbacks.

I decided to try Ellie MD because my doctor recommended them, as she partnered with them. Im familiar with ordering peptides, so I know what to look for.
First thing that sketched me out, is when your ordering a peptide, it doesn't tell you what mg bottle your purchasing, other than a Dr will review your intake form, and prescribe based on your intake, or they will contact you to do a consult.
Well, I never got a consult. I was supposedly sent a 2 month supply, with the most confusing to figure out dosage/ mg bottle, just telling me to take 20 units. I still cant figure out what dosage I have because it doesn't tell you how much it was diluted with. So I call, I get a call center in the Philippines, and I cant understand anything they are saying, and they were no help.
Im not using them again, and I dont recommend. OH- also triend to "message my provider" but I keep getting an error message, of course.
Im going back to purchasing my own peptides and reconstituting them myself. At least I know what Im getting.

I’ve been with ELLIEMD for over a year. It has worked well for my wife and myself., we are both pleasantly surprised at how well it works for health, weight loss and also being a brand partner.

Don't do it.. update
Used them once before for GLP meds and had great results. Recently used again for weight management and became extremely sick that required hospital stay. Now I can't contact anyone without having to agree to new terms of use which has so much legal jargon I don't know what im agreeing to. Now im out $$ with no way of contacting anyone. Seems like they covering their butt on something
UPDATE: How can I reach someone without giving consent online to new rules? Is there a number I can call. Is it worth calling?

I would not even rate it a one. I signed up for their semiglutide under the impression I was going to try the oral drops for one month. But I was charged for a 3 month subscription instead. And as it turned out, the drops made my stomach very sick feeling, which left me with almost &1,000.00 out of pocket with a 3 month subscription that they would not reverse. So watch out because they are good at tricking you and charging your card.

After 8 weeks using GLP-1
After 8 weeks using GLP-1, out of 12weeks, the company ‘s process, is to send you an assessment checking on your well being and if you are happy with the result so far. There are several tiers, Tier 1 , 12 weeks, then tier2 , another 12 weeks and so on….the company gives an option of managing subscription tab to go with your pace when your next shipment will be charged and sent, you will have control when the next shipment will be charged and sent . I set mine for April 15th.
Unfortunately, after the 8th week, the company sends you an assessment and when you reply and submit , automatically your next order will be charged and to targeted to be shipped in few days. Does not make sense if you set your next shipment for April 15th why charging my credit card before time and even before I agree on my next tier2 to be charged.
I tried to discuss it with the company , their answers was they will charge $99 administration fee to cancel the order and I will resubmit when the tîme is ready.
There is no spot in their policy indicate 1) that after your assessment the next order will be charged, even though I still have 4 more weeks of supply , I don’t need it yet….2) the $99 fee in their policy applies for customer who changed their mind, I did not change my mind , I still have plenty of supply for 4 more weeks, I don’t need it early .
Guys, not sure I will be a return customer with that company. They are not honest with you or straight forward.
I requested a partial credit on my first order tier 1 went down$300 from what I paid and. It partial refund either..
Plenty of peptides companies and competition is strong In This domaine .

Horrific customer service
All I'm trying to do is get a consultation with a medical provider to make sure I'm on the right plan and they're making it impossible. Keep giving me the runaround and not generic responses to my queries on their portal, that have nothing to do with my question. I doubt that there's actually any qualified people there. Just AI nonsense. Horrific customer service.

I have ordered with them for about a year and I’m completely satisfied with the products! I feel less puffy and my inflammation is way down! I have lost significant weight in my energy is up! My doctor commented that all my labs look significantly better!

What an amazing company in the longevity space. I have had nothing but positive experiences with my products… I’m trying so many of them because I know they are super clean and come from a certified pharmacy. I know I’m not guessing with the safety of my medicine. And now I hear they are going to be sourcing everything in the USA!
Secondly, I recently had an issue when an order was sent to the wrong address (since I moved) and they had no problem sending another supply out to the correct address at no charge.
Loving that this company is adding new peptides all the time because I know they are safe and effective- no guessing on the things I put in my body!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Ellie MD.
Immediately after signing up, I decided to cancel and communicated that I did not want to proceed with treatment. I never had a telehealth visit, was never evaluated by a physician, and did not consent to any prescriptions being issued.
Despite this:
I was charged, even though I was told I would not be charged until after approval.
I was “approved” without having any telehealth visit or documented medical evaluation.
Medication was prescribed in my name after I had clearly withdrawn consent.
The company is refusing to issue a refund for services that were never properly rendered.
At no point did I complete a telehealth visit with Dr. Strimbu, nor did I authorize medication to be prescribed. Prescribing medication without a completed evaluation and after a patient has canceled raises serious concerns about patient consent and business practices.
I am sharing this so others can be aware before signing up. Patients deserve transparency, proper evaluation, and respect for their right to decline treatment.

Bait and switch business practices
Be careful of EllieMD's business practices. They advertise their products as qualifying for reimbursement through a flex spending account, but they only provide you with a letter of medical necessity for select treatmens. No problem taking your money and rubber stamping RX approvals to collect money. Disingenuous and lacks integrity. Shop elsewhere with a company that doesn't falsely advertise to lure in vulnerable customers.

My experience with EllieMD has been straightforward and professional.
The intake process was simple, my information was reviewed by a licensed provider, and my prescription was handled through the platform as expected. Communication took place through the patient portal.
