Seem pretty dodgy
I would be careful using this company. Once they had my car they doubled the amount they needed and put a lot of pressure on me to pay it before the warranty company had had a chance to consider it - (bank transfer only so you have very little protection).
Initially, they didn’t even provide a detailed invoice - just a text asking for a further £4,000 after the initial £750. Some of what they said didn’t seem to be true - for instance, saying that they needed to provide the part number to the warrant company (fine) and couldn’t do so until I’d paid for the parts (seems untrue).
When I did get a detailed invoice, the prices quoted didn’t seem to match internet searches and some of the parts seemed to be discontinued.
Once I decided to remove my car I was presented with another demand for money - saying that some work had apparently been done over the weekend - this specifically went against the conversation we had had on Friday when I requested they wait until I’d spoken to the warranty company - and also went against what they said about not being able to do work without an additional £4000 upfront.
I ended up paying this additional charge under protest to get my car back, if I hadn’t, they said they were going to start charging me £95 a day storage - despite it saying £50 a day in their contract.
As they never did anything to fix my car I can’t comment on how good they are as mechanics - but I’ve spent over a thousand pounds with them (to be fair £250 of that was initial recovery of the vehicle) and my car is in a worse state then it was when they got it. Furthermore, the information they provided the warranty company was lacking fault codes and a justification for the replacement oil pump, so further information would have been required even if I had stayed with them - This doesn’t make me feel confident that the process would have been quick or efficient - and it undoubtedly would have been expensive with my car held hostage.
The company was newly formed in the summer - I am not totally sure that the VAT number matches the name of the company - and I suspect that when the company has too many angry customers it dissolves and they start another. I might be wrong.
Final note - it says it has a high score on trust pilot and ‘James’ repeatedly told me they had 8-10 new cars a week - also sometimes said 8-10 new cars a day to push me into paying the money so I didn’t go to the back of the queue - but my review is the first. It doesn’t quite stack up. My advice would be to proceed with caution if you choose to use them - I wish I hadn’t.
