Very poor customer experience

Very poor customer experience. When I collected the car I wasn’t invited to inspect the vehicle,this was done by the enterprise rep. I drove one way and dropped the car off art my destination the next day. I was then accused of damaging the car and would have to pay for the repairs. I can say I did not and never have had any accidents in a hire car and to be accused of this is very poor. Why couldn’t Enterprixpse admit they missed the damage prior to my collection is beyond belief. Please check your vehicles before signing for them and you must crawl around them on your hands and n
Knees to be thorough! Enterprise have a duty of care to there customers to provide safe and roadworthy cars!

everyone i know who has used these have been stung

i Returned a van i hired from Penzance one way to Shrewsbury it was checked off and my deposit returned on the 10th of June then 19 days later i get a invoice with notification that they are going to take £438 off my credit card for a missing spare tyre inflator of which i have never seen . 5 of my work colleagues have also had false claims against them and will never use them again .

I hired a car from enterprise in Welwyn Garden City. I had just returned from Iiving in Spain and hired the car which I thought was for two days. I paid with my English debit card but they wanted a holding deposit. I tried my English credit card which I had not used in four years needless to say it was declined for fraud reasons even though I owed them nothing, so I said that I would use my Spanish visa but they must not make any charges on it as I was closing the Spanish account, they assured me that no money would be put onto the card, it was just a holding deposit of £200 I took the car back and the man came out to greet us stating that it had all been paid for, I had to pay for an extra day.
six weeks later I get a call from my Spanish bank to say a payment from my Spanish visa had made making e overdrawn as I had only left a little money in it before closure.

yes, you have guessed it. they took payment on my Spanish card even though I had asked them not to. when I phoned and spoke to a lady in the office. did she care or give a dam. No customer service at all
no apology would I hire from them again...not in a million years.

I hired a car from Enterprise. Watch out they don’t rip you off with the tyres!!!

I hired a car from Enterprise for a week whilst my family car was in the garage. I picked up the car from Stansted airport and due to ease returned the car to Cambridge. I had no incidents knocks or anything exciting happen to me or the hire car during the week. When I returned the car the chap inspected the car and he found a small crack/gauge in the tyre wall. He then proceeded to say that it was going to cost £200 to replace (??does a tyre for a Kia Niro cost £200) and they were going to hold that amount on my credit card. Firstly when I checked the car on pick up with the lady who attended me we never even looked at the tyres! I have hired cars from many places before but this was the first time I have ever had this problem. It felt like a total rip off, which of course Enterprise assured me it wasn’t. So disappointed with the service and it has just meant that I will write an honest review on trust pilot to warn against hiring from these bandits. If you have to hire get the extra insurance as I suspect this is a stunt they pull frequently.

Scammers - fraudulent charges. Be careful.

Rented a van from the Harrogate office. The van was covered in small scratches, and several debts and I pointed as many out as I could when I collected the van. I was told they were all under the size and nothing to worry about.

Get the van back to them and they suddenly spot a small looking scratch on the front bumper and home in on it. The scratch was apparently bigger than their tool, but under the bumper where it couldn't be seen - the small area that you could actually see was way smaller than the acceptable limit.

They accused me of the damage (which I didn't cause, and was clearly related to existing damage that I had noted in the morning when I collected it) and proceeded to charge nearly £900 to my card - which I had specifically told them they were not authorised to do as I was contesting their claim.

Don't trust these scammers. I made the mistake of not photographing everything before I set off.

Update: the day after I wrote this review, Enterprise cancelled the claim against me and started the refund process - which can take up to 5 days. I'm not certain of the reason as they didn't make it clear, but I assume it is because I pointed out the damage was under the bumper and their damage assessment tool clearly states that scratches and scuffs under the bumper are not to be considered as damage.

Disputed Fuel economy !!!

I rented a Merc sprinter Luton back and tail lift . It was with a 1/4 tank diesel to which I added 40 litres a total of 58 litres. I drove to Shiney Row in Durham and picked up a fireplace and set off back. At a place just south of Wetherby on the motorway I ran out of diesel. It was 225 miles , the van had been showing the fuel warning light but I disregarded it as it was showing all the time even when I filled it up with the 40 litres. Other fault lights kept appearing all the journey such as rear light, radar sensors dirty as well the faulty fuel lights.
The AA came to the rescue and took us on a low loader to Ferrybridge where I put in another 32 litres of fuel. We arrived back at Nottingham with a 1/4 tank showing. An economy rate of 4.19 miles per litre. Total miles 310 less 8 on low loader divided by 72.
On returning the van to enterprise van hire I complained that this was unacceptable and could they investigate.
They didn't believe me or my passenger as the warning lights did not display when stationary.
They admitted they knew very little of the vans history or service record as it was from another branch.
They said over £100 of diesel for a 302 miles journey was acceptable. The warning lights were a figment of my imagination. They did not even start the van or test drive it to check my story about the warning lights.
In short they dismissed me as a liar and a blaggard. I strenuously argued my case at which point I was asked to leave the car park at enterprise van hire at Unit 2 Daleside Road Nottingham. I asked to speak to the area manager and raise a complaint. I was denied this, I asked for the AA report on the incident, they said I had been asked for my email address by the AA man, I hadn't and a report wasn't sent to it They said the report wasn't sent to them even though the call out was by them on their contract.
I have no contact from the manager at Daleside Road, JAKE or the area manager. A complaint has not been raised even though they would not look into the matter.
They also said that false economy mileage figures by Mercedes-Benz account for the difference between their advertised economy figures and that acheived by their vans and cars. I acknowledge there is this to take account of BUT they don't double the mileage per litre rate.
In short their customer service is below that expected of a national company or is it just JAKE at Daleside Road Nottingham who is letting the company down.
Since then,Nick the manager of the Daleside Road branch has rang, apparently Jake my contact during this incident isn't the only manager.
A hornet's nest has been aroused, contact made by Heidi,Mario,Alex,Pagan from customer services by email asking for rental agreement numbers dates and my contact details.
However no follow up!

We tried to rent a car at the Harrogate…

We tried to rent a car at the Harrogate enterprise branch and spoke to two people (one named Jess and one other blonde man) but they were extremely unhelpful. We felt as though this occurred out of discrimination because when we tried to rent a car at the Bradford branch, we had no problem whatsoever. The customer service needs serious improvements.

Hidden extras.

Booked a van online which was slightly more expensive than other companies but as it was local I opted for enterprise, was told when I collected the van that the insurance excess was £1100 unless I paid another £30 onto the booking 🤯. When I returned the van I was then charged another £15 because the fuel was 1/8!!!!!!!! Lower. Absolute rip off. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

PHONED ME THE NIGHT BEFORE AND SAID BECAUSE OF COVID-19 THEY WOULD HAVE TO DELIVER AS THE PICK UP STORE WAS NOT OPEN EVEN THOUGH NON ESSENTIAL STORES WERE ALLOWED TO OPEN THEY CHARGED ME £20 FOR THIS SERVICE WHICH I AM NOW GOING TO PERSUE THROUGH SMALL CLAIMS COURTS AS I HAD NO ALTERNATIVE AS I WAS MOVING HOME THE NEXT DAY WHICH THEY KNEW SO FELT LIKE BLACKMAIL THEY NEVER COLLECTED THE VAN FOR 3 DAYS ON MY DRIVE WHICH WILL FORM PART OF MY CLAIM AS I AM CHARGING STORAGE AND THE INCONVENIENCE. ALSO WHEN DELIVERING THEY STARTED FIRING OFF FEES FOR SCRATCHES TYRE WINDSCREEN DAMAGE RUNNING INTI THOUSANDS OF POUNDS SO AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST IT MAY BE CHEAPER TO GET A REMOVAL COMPANY OR BUY A VAN. THEY ALSO CHARGED ME TWICE STILL WAITING FOR A REFUND 10 DAYS LATER.

Do not rent from this company

Do not rent from this company. Ask around for the worst car hire company and go to them you will be better off in the end. If you do have to use this company look for a scratch it may be hidden but it will be there somewhere. No in fact just draw £1000 out of the bank and throw it down the drain.

We booked to hire a transit van from the Foss Island, York branch.We booked over the phone and were never told about the additional charges for damaging the vehicle. £1500 if damaged or £25 added to the final bill.
Disgusted!!!No Enterprise complaints dept. You have to deal with the branch manager who casually mentioned the charges. If you are quoted a price on booking that is the charge you should pay!!Do not use these people!!!

Good customer service

After numerous phone calls to settle an unauthorised credit card dispute, finally Harvey at my local Huddersfield branch arranged a credit in full together with an apology. This is an example of good customer service and I am pleased to give a deserved 4 star review.

We have always had excellent service…

We have always had excellent service from Enterprise. This week we returned a hire car with what seemed to be a slow puncture. We were afraid they would not return our full £200 deposit, but having looked into the matter the young man who was dealing with us phoned our home to tell us all was o.k. and we were not liable for any extra payment. Other companies we have used in the past would have immediately charged us, but Enterprise is very fair and very efficient.

Well I'm fumming as I write this

Well I'm fumming as I write this, had a hire car from them last month thru my insurance company. Firstly they don't have a check sheet when you get the car from them they just say oh as long as any damage isnt any bigger than a certain size we dont worry about it, so of course you take photos and videos just in case. With me they didnt collect the car when they were meant to, for 2 days I kept calling about them collecting as I didnt want to get hit for extra hire days. Guy on the phone said dont worry you are not responsbile for the car now.

I have just checked my car insurance renewal and to cut it short Enterprise have made a claim against me saying the car is damaged. Well wasnt from my hire, no telephone call to me about this so called damaged either. I am going to fight this all the way, Im sure their cars must have trackers in them so it should show up when an accident occurs.

So Enterprise take it from somebody who works for another car hire company, your system from having no proper check sheet to having T&Cs only emailed to you once youve signed the rental agreement so it is all emailed at once is pants, oh and as Enterprise take your debit card details with a small payment and return it a customer would assume all is okay ie no damage to car and then delete all photos from their phone so they have no proof is more than bad practice.

If the car had damage try sourcing your bad drivers and check the trackers, oh and of course if a hire car is return damaged would you not contact the driver about it???

Your reputation has always gone before you and now here is yet another example, I cant believe my insurance company use you.

Complete rip off, lots of hidden costs that no one told us about. Rented a car big enough for 5 adults, this isn’t what we got, would never use this company again.

THESE PEOPLE RIP YOU OFF AND YOU HAVE NO COME BACK.

My daughter hired a car in Nice. Her car was declined, due to insufficient funds (it had more than enough to cover the car hire and more) so she used my card to hire the car (I was not present and did not sign anything but she did have permission to use my card).
When she returned the card they found a 'scratch' under the bumper. The employee went straight to the scratch despite the fact it was not visible unless you were on your knees in front of the car. (I wish you could download photos to this site - I would defy anyone to spot it despite the fact that we have ringed it in the photo.
They charged 650 Euros to my card and there doesn't seem to be a thing we can do about it. They won't speak to my daughter - as the card is not hers (GDPR data protection apparently) and they won't talk to me as I don't have all the details and I didn't rent the car.
JUST DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.
Read an article in the Telegraph which uncannily outlines every stage of the experience that my daughter had - from the declining of the card to the miraculous finding of a 'scratch' which they just make up a sum of money on the spot and intimidate you until you go away.

Couldn't be more impressed with Enterprise Harrogate

Over the past few years, we've had to have 4 courtesy cars from Enterprise Harrogate, after insurance claims, and they've always been absolutely brilliant. You can call direct (no need to call an anonymous call centre) and the staff couldn't be more consistently enthusiastic or helpful. This time, they dropped the car off for me (didn't have to get someone to drive me the 25-mile round trip to collect it). And they've said that, to return it, I can just leave it at the dealership where I'm buying my new car from... which is not only incredibly convenient, but it's 130 miles away! Am very impressed..
