Amazing Invention
The Super Lifter works so well. I have a double brood box on my flow hive. The second one, which I'm pleased to say is full of capped honey ready for the bees through the UK winter, is really, really heavy & I'm not sure I could lift it on my own. I have used the lifter twice now & once with the extra handles. After a quick reminder from the instructions, the lifter is fairly intuitive to use. I'm looking forward to using it every week once the season starts next year. So glad I saved up & bought the whole kit with the carry bag that keeps it altogether. Just need to wait for more lifting point screws to come into the UK stock. 😊

Turning the tab for the first time is a sheer wonder and in terms of beekeeping just the tip of the iceberg - once hooked you are about to get a peek into a fascinating world that hasn’t even been fully mapped yet.

Bought the Hive 2+ and I could not be happier. Only 7 weeks in and the bees are thriving and the box is filling nicely. The hive was easy to fit together and no issues. I will be buying my second hive ahead of the spring and look forward to growing the apiary.

Just beware of any endorsements you may find by popular beekeeping "influencers" online on Youtube etc. They are given free Flow hives and then miraculously gloss over all the drawbacks of Flow Hives. Some of them like F.Dunn also give you links to buy Flow hives at a discount, and they get a commission, no wonder they endorse them and do not mention the rubbish quality of these hives.

If you want an honest opinion, talk to someone at a beekeeping store, or an experienced beekeeper, or enquire at one of the independent online forums, not their sponsored one.

In a world where bees are disappearing at an alarming rate, there is more and more incentive for ordinary people to try to encourage the survival of bee colonies by doing whatever they can to help.

The Flow bee hive system is a great idea and innovation for bee keepers who want to avoid the fuss and mess of traditional bee keeping, and to help reduce stress on the bees themselves. A system that allows you to harvest honey without removing frames. Unfortunately, the prices they are asking for boxes and hives is prohibitively expensive for garden bee keepers. I'll keep an eye on prices but I suspect it would be several years before prices come down to an affordable level, assuming they ever do.

In the meantime, we'll be shopping for traditional hives and looking into building them ourselves.

Great idea guys, just needs to be much, much cheaper.
