not neurodivergent-friendly

Per all of the other 1 star reviews - when I was a student there was very very poor support and reasonable adjustments for neurodivergent students across the board - the academic offerings are strong and the faculties are world-class but there is a systemic issue around how students with mental health difficulties or other conditions are accommodated

Lack of Support and Discriminatory Practices – A Disappointing Workplace

In my experience, this University appears to prioritize the interests and well-being of its senior management team, often to the detriment of other staff members. While significant attention is given to the promotion and welfare of upper management, there seems to be a lack of genuine care for the broader staff community.

Additionally, I have observed troubling issues regarding workplace equity. The University seems to promote diversity superficially, appearing more focused on meeting quotas than on providing meaningful support to staff from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds. This approach leaves many feeling undervalued and unsupported in their professional roles.

Rather than fostering unity and inclusion, the University’s practices often feel divisive, resulting in a work environment where staff morale suffers. Prospective employees seeking a supportive and equitable workplace may want to reconsider before joining. There is an urgent need for the institution to address these systemic issues and implement real, lasting changes to improve the experiences of all its staff members.

Terrible institution discriminated…

Terrible institution discriminated against disabled students who already disclosed they had a disability for this to be used against them again a serious breech if the equality act 2010 whereby they try to kick students off without any help or support but happily take their fees!

Financial penalties imposed despite fees paid

Daughter in second year.. under financial pressure.. Uni charged her late payment fees despite me paying her fees in full over a week ago.
Ridiculously complicated payment system..geared towards foreign payments.
No channel for me as a parent to complain.. just hitting the "contact us online " firewall so nobody has to take responsibility.. I'm fuming about it.. my daughter is stressed enough about the finances and is now getting financial penalties despite us having paid. Disgraceful and uncaring.

The ableism I have experienced at this…

The ableism I have experienced at this University has been appalling. Their complaints procedure is corrupt and they do not even investigate the issues, they simply refuse to acknowledge there is a problem.
If you search, you will find numerous issues regarding discrimination in all its guises at this awful place.

Avoid the University of Exeter.

The university messed up son's last year at uni, such as starting him on his course 1 month late, not adding him to his classes Teams chats, and so much more. This had multiple knock on effects. I tried writing to the Vice Principal, to no avail. He wrote a really detailed, clear complaint which was upheld, however the university have refused to discuss realistic compensation. Avoid this university at all costs - it has absolutely no values or care for students.
Many of his friends have experienced the same problems.
