Really disappointed with Fantasy Football Scout UK and what I consider to be an extremely shady approach to subscription renewals.

I was automatically charged for another year without receiving any notification whatsoever before or after the payment was taken. I immediately emailed their support requesting a refund.

What makes this even worse is that I’ve now realised I was also charged for a subscription last year, which I wasn’t even aware of — and I never used the subscription during that entire period.

How difficult is it to send a simple email saying, “Your subscription is about to renew” or “Your payment has been taken”? It’s not rocket science. The fact that customers can be charged automatically with no meaningful notification before or after the transaction is, frankly, very shady behaviour.

It’s hard not to question whether this is deliberately structured so that people simply forget about their subscriptions and continue getting charged without noticing. I can easily imagine there are numerous customers being billed year after year without even realising it.

A legitimate subscription service should want customers to knowingly choose to continue paying for the service — not rely on people failing to notice recurring charges.

What’s particularly disappointing is that this experience has completely changed my perception of Fantasy Football Scout. I would have had no problem recommending them previously, but after this, I honestly wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. In fact, it has made me more inclined to look at and try alternative fantasy football platforms instead.

I’ve requested a refund and will see how Fantasy Football Scout handles it. But regardless of the outcome, this renewal process is completely unacceptable and leaves a very bad taste.

UPDATE 14/08/2026 (post-FFS response):
Responding with "it's in our Terms and Conditions” is a real pathetic cop-out. Yes, the auto-renewal may be part of the T&Cs and, yes, the “bill payer” technically has responsibility to cancel. But hiding behind those points completely misses the issue.

When multiple customers are raising similar complaints, any decent, customer-centric company should be questioning whether its processes are appropriate, not simply pointing to the T&Cs and blaming the customer.

Calling it the “bill payer’s responsibility” feels a lot like victim blaming. A simple reminder before an annual renewal, and a payment confirmation afterwards, is hardly an unreasonable expectation. The fact that neither is provided is what makes the process feel so shady.

FFS really needs to take a good look at their customer service — or perhaps I should say “bill payer service”, given the impression your response leaves about how customers are viewed.

I have received an email confirming my refund is being processed (since I managed to catch the payment within the 7-day window). But getting a refund does not make the underlying process any less shady.

Legitimate customer complaints have provided multiple opportunities to improve the process. Instead, the response has simply reinforced my impression that FFS is more interested in defending its T&Cs than being genuinely customer-centric.

I paid £50 for a Fantasy Football Scout membership primarily to use their custom player stats tables. Upon signing up, the tool completely fails—redirecting to a community page every time I hit "Create Table" across multiple browsers and clean sessions.

What makes this far worse is customer service. I emailed support on Saturday 1st August and followed up on Sunday 2nd August detailing the issue. I also contacted via X. It has now been 5 days (well past their stated 2-working-day response window) with zero reply via email or Twitter DMs.

Their policy states a 7-day refund window, yet they ignore emails sent within that window. Extremely disappointing service for a paid customer. Avoid until their technical support and platform stability improve.

This is an excellent and comprehensive site giving you news, pundit team selection, planners and player points forecasts. If you want one subscription to cover your FPL needs, this is it.

This is a fantastic site to help your fantasy football, with all the data you need on teams and players, plus many timely articles to guide your decision-making.

FFS has been a stalwart of the fantasy football community for many years now and contains almost all one could need. Easy to use website with all the features needed, including specific articles for certain topics. In recent years, however, more and more content has been place behind paywalls/subscriptions, hence the 4 and not 5 stars.

The abundance of tools, available within the app, is plenty enough, and it does pack a lot in.
+ the price I just paid, was a bargain indeed.
I do think, in time I will see the benefit of this, but for now with season closed, it's a lot to take in, but I'm sure this membership, will herald some very good results going fwd.
I also did this membership not because of the cost, but to streamline my transfers in line with Ai suggestions.
And this subscription, will benefit me very well, given I've done 2,000+ points for each of the last 4/5 seasons

Love the site and the content anyway. Had a recent problem which once flagged to the support team they dealt with and resolved asap. Really prompt and really good comms back to me to tell me what had been done and why.

The website is very rich with FPL stats and data. I just have a very small concern on the websites’ pages/screens loading where it usually takes a long time to get loaded. Other than that, the website is pretty good. Thanks for all your efforts in putting this together for us.

Fantastic platform for football statistics and insights to optimise your FPL strategies and tactics. The member's area is extensive and well-equipped, however it does – in my opinion – need significant upgrades to modern UI and UX standards; it can be surprisingly difficult and occasionally quite frustrating to source specifics and create efficient workflows. As FPL continues to grow, I would anticipate that Fantasy Football Scout will likely get left behind in favour of more innovative and user-friendly platforms – which may already be happening.

Additionally, if users ever have technical issues, it is highly likely that these will remain unresolved as it seems as though there is no dedicated customer support team – emails remain unanswered.

Overall, very robust and useful platform, but reasonably outdated and not well supported. Depending on the user's preferences and desired level of statistical insight, there may be other better-suited platforms out there.

As an EPL fan living in America, the Scout is an invaluable tool for to participate in FPL. Through the Scout site, I can get player/team information that I would have to do so much extra work to find on my own. I will continue to be a member as long as they continue helping me be successful playing FPL
