I don't have a need to send a fax very often. So when I do, I go online and find either a "free" or low-cost single fax service for that purpose. I have come to learn that there are very few truly "free" services. Most want your credit card, and some seek a fee or offer you a short free trial.
What I don't want to do is get snookered! And that is what I believe happened here. I selected the FAX.xyz service because the reviews seemed good, and the description of the people running the service was positive. In order to send a free fax, however, they required that you sign up for a three-day trial, after which, if you failed to timely cancel, they would hit you for $99.99 for a yearly service subscription. They require your credit card in advance, which I gave them because I intended to cancel the trial period right away either way. I then tried to send a single two- or three-page fax, but it would not go for whatever reason. After several failed tries, I gave up. I then immediately sent an email to their listed address for support saying, unequivocally, I wanted to "cancel the three-day trial immediately." To be safe, I Googled their service to verify their cancellation process. It specified sending a cancellation to the same address I had already used. To be safe, I sent a second email to their support. This was within minutes after I had initiated the three-day trial and tried unsuccessfully to send a fax. Here are copies of the nearly identical emails I sent to the designated address: the first email: Hello,
My name is Robert White. PLEASE CANCEL IMMEDIATELY my three-day trial subscription to your service, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

I just tried to send a fax through your free service, and it failed to go through. I had signed up for a three-day trial today, and given that the service didn't work, I want to cancel it effective immediately.

Please confirm by return email to [my email address]. Please do not charge the credit card I provided.

Thank you,
Robert White". The second email: "Hello,
My name is Robert White. PLEASE CANCEL IMMEDIATELY my three-day trial subscription to your service, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

I just tried to send a fax through your free service, and it failed to go through. I had signed up for a three-day trial today, and given that the service didn't work, I want to cancel it effective immediately

Robert White" Despite the care and steps I took to be sure the trial period was cancelled immediately, three days later I was charged $99.99. I called the FAX service immediately, and and was sent to voicemail. I'm sorry, but I cannot believe this was an accident. They had had my two emails for three days, and yet went ahead attempted to charge my account. This played out exactly as I feared it would. I am convinced it is not an accident. They know they have you over the barrel once they charge your account, and then they make themselves unavailable when you attempt to reach them. Others have complained that they're not easy or fair to work with, and I agree.

Canceled this "service", as the program did not work. Canceled within 6 hours well within the 3 days.
Now 3 months later this scam organization is still trying to steal the funds from my account.
This fax.xyz is a scam, nothing but a scam be careful, do NOT use.

I paid for a large file fax and had my payment information stolen. This service charged me $99.99 for a $4.00 fax. It is obvious this service is either a scam or has been hacked. I recommend never using it.

The whole process is terrible. I tried the 3 day free trial. This company immediately charged me for full year subscription. I tried 5 times to send a fax and never went through. I tried canceling the trial and cancelling the service. Cannot cancel the billing on line and repeated attempts through customer service did not work. This service is below 1 on rating.

The trial time was not good. I attempted to send a fax several times, but it kept returning as invalid. Once I tried to get a refund on the day after it wouldn't deliver it, already processed the payment, but the fax still didn't work. I used a different provider, and it delivered to the number without an issue. Now I am out of my payment, and the faxes obviously don't work. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY!

I registered for the 3-day free trial and attempted to send a fax twice, but both failed. Despite this, $100 was charged before the trial ended. Support does not respond to emails, and my refund request was denied.

Wish I'd looked at the reviews before signing up for a 3 day trial. I cancelled on the 2nd day, but they charged me $100 for a year's subscription anyway. Customer service just said my account was still open and refused to refund me. Based in Londodn yet no 14day cooling off period either. What a scam!

After the service failed to send my documents, I was unable to log in to cancel my free trial due to a persistent site glitch. Support did not rectify the access issue in time, resulting in a $100 annual charge that they now refuse to refund. BEWARE!!!! Could not send email to US government agency FAX line. FAX xyx support came back with recipient did not have email address! If they did, I would not have to use FAX. I notified them of my wish to cancel 28 minutes at end of 3 day activation period occurred while I was on email with them trying to get a resolution. Horrible customer service!! Located in London with no phone support. Email support only. They charged me 2 year $199 subsciption.

We attempted to send faxes with the 3-day free trial offered by Fax.xyz. The faxes failed to send to a legitimate government number, so we used another service. Assuming the fax system triggers spam protections, or worse, we clicked to cancel the subscription on the account. Unfortunately, we were still charged a few days later for $99.99. When we logged in after this, they still showed the subscription active. We canceled the subscription a second time, but this still wasn't seen in the system by the support team when we contacted them. The subscription did not show canceled until we asked for a refund. Despite explaining the situation to them, support informed us that the company does not issue refunds. Avoid this company.

Like many other reviews, this on-line service is unethical and changes the subscription renewal date without advance notification. My CC was charged $99 the day before the listed renewal day and attempted to cancel my subscription for a service that I do NOT use was unsuccessful. Provided backup for my last renewal and they XYZ.Fax would NOT refund my money. This company is London based and does not comply with US consumer protection laws.

Service never worked, all of my faxes failed, I submitted support request, they did not know what the problem was, I then used another service, FaxZero.com and all my faxes were sent successfully so I know the issue was with Fax.xyz, not with me or the recipient. I canceled my free trial and they still charged my card $99.99, causing my checking account to be overdrawn. I contacted them to tell them I canceled my free trial and did not wish to continue their services nor did I authorize them to charge my card. They responded that they do not provide refunds as per their terms and conditions and refused to issue a refund for service I was never even able to use, that does not work, and that I never authorized them to charge me for. I have had to report the charge as fraud with my bank. Fax.xyz is also known to be a scam site based on the following:
*The owner of the website is using a service to hide their identity on WHOIS
*According to Tranco this site has a low rank
*This site is a website within another website
*This website has received negative reviews
"This website is poorly designed and doesn't contain elements in the metadata that could help its online presence. As a result, it loses credibility and shows that its quality is questionable."

Shady Shady Shady.

They have no cancel button to cancel after the trail. When you e-mail to cancel, they tell you they can't b/c the account was created via Microsoft. Stay far away. Scam business.

Bucht sofort Betrag von 89,85€ für ein Abo von Kreditkarte ab ohne Legitimation, Wie kommt man ohne Zustimmung an die Daten für meine Kreditkarte? Ich habe weder eine Rechnung, Kundennummer, oder Nachricht über irgendwelche Kosten und Zahlungen erhalten. Lehnt Widerspruch kategorisch ab. Ich schicke zeitlich Widerspruch ab aber immer Ablehnung für die Rückbuchung.

Apparently a year ago I was looking for fax company and clicked on this one. I just got charged for a subscription that I never used and was not even aware of. Apparently, you it had a free trial for 3 days that I never used and then you were subscribed if you did not cancel. I saw none of this as I had not actually signed up but guess giving your email is enough. When I saw the credit card charge I contacted them to cancel and get refund but they denied a refund because I did not cancel in the 3 day trial period a year ago even though the service was never used. This is a scam way of getting money from people. A legitimate business would refund someone in this case.
