My daughter was getting married, we had the bus rental to bring our friends and family from an Inn to the Venue. The service was prompt and many people complimented how nice the driver was.

Scheduling was easy, customer service was pleasant, the quote and contact were clear, we got there and back safely and without stress!

We had a lot of guests from outside of the country who had never ridden on a yellow school bus before. To say they loved every minute of it is an understatement! When they saw the bus pull up in front of the hotel, they were all very excited! The service was phenomenal and made traveling from the venue to the hotel a breeze, especially with windy roads at night that people have never driven on before. Everyone was able to travel with us, and no one was left behind. Our driver was fantastic, and so nice, everyone enjoyed her presence. Thank you for the great service!

We used first charter for buses for our guests at our wedding. Everything was on time and the buses were clean and nice. I would highly recommend them.

EDIT: After our review, we were contacted by Customer Service, and the representative with whom we spoke was helpful, understanding, and kind. We're grateful for a prompt response to our concerns! We therefore added a higher rating for our service.

Original Review:

While we are grateful to have gone on our trip, but we would like to report our experience accurately.

1. We were not told in advance that our bus would have one fewer seat due to the driver's accompanying child, who needed significant assistance from paying passengers.

2. We were not told in advance that the driver would not take any highways. We were an hour late for our appointment at the museum because the driver did not take a single highway into Boston from Fitchburg. Had we known this driver did not take highways, we would not have used this bus. We missed a good portion of our allotted time at the museum due to avoidable delays. Our contracted time for bussing was 8:15-10 am, and returning 1:30 to 3 pm, but the driver arrived after 8:15 and delivered us to the museum at or after 10:45 am, and as such we did not gain entry to the museum until 11 am, an hour after our stated time of 10 am. The driver also could not find a route to the museum itself once we were in the city, and we drove around Boston in circles for a great deal of time due to the poorly planned route. We crossed the Charles River 3 or 4 times, for instance.

4. The driver also delivered us home after 3:30 pm due to taking only back roads and not the most direct highway route(s). The delays were not due to traffic conditions. Overall, taking nearly 2.5 hours to Boston from Fitchburg and over 2 hours home due solely to taking back roads (not traffic delays) is not what we had contracted or expected.

We have used First Charter for several years now for our company outing. They have always been reliable in filling the needs for transportation. Great company!

We hired first charter for our wedding. Overall the shuttle service worked out great. However there was no communication. I had no contact since it was booked, not even the day of I wasnt even sure the buses would show up until i saw them pull into the venue. No communication is the reasoning for this rating. Everything worked out alright though

Bus was there and ready ahead of schedule. Driver was polite and professional. The bus was a bit older than I expected however it didn’t ruin the experience.

We hired First Student to shuttle our wedding guests back and forth from 2 hotels to our daughter Kristin's wedding reception at The Barn at Gibbet Hill. Frank was our bus driver. He was punctual and very courteous.
