I have used flipboard for years to browse news. I like to be able to choose categories to follow and to block content providers i don't want to read. However, flipboard insists i get biased feeds anyway. Today,i get a new heading of vote 2024. I opened it and the first 10 posts were pro harris and anti trump. It's full of content proveders i have blocked such as Politico which couldn't write a balanced article to save its life. If you try to mute them on that section. It won't allow it. In done with flipboard at least until after the election.

Flipboard used to be neutrally curated in terms of its political coverages. Now, it’s has become darn far Left with a very distinct preference for arch liberal sites like New Republic, HuffPost, Slate, et al in addition to an endless stream of little known peripheral sites that outright misrepresent conservative thinking. More authoritative centrist sources like WSJ, Forbes, Fortune, Reuters, are also very rarely included in its feeds. Flipboard has become PropagandaBoard.

Flipboard censors/deletes moderate comments so it's nothing but extremist name calling on both sides. They're not transparent & won't tell you which comment(s) are removed. I audited my previous posts & it appears my most moderate post (didn't blast anyone, acknowledged all sides) was removed. Another post from someone full of name calling & cursing was just fine for Flipboard, but if you're reasonable, you're deleted.

I WOULD GIVE IT - 10 STARS IF I COULD.

De plus en plus d'articles "putaclic", les paywalls qui étaient autrefois signalés ne le sont plus et les fachos de tous bords s'écharpent dans les commentaires.
Les modos sont aux abonnés absents.
C'est devenu un "X-Twitter 2 : le retour".
Dommage.
J'ai clos mon compte aujourd'hui (et pris un abo payant sur une appli de news internationale).

Zumindestens in Deutschland ist es nicht möglich selber Artikel zu teilen die anderen Usern vorgeschlagen werden.

Stattdessen liest man immer die selben 6 Namen, die eindeutig linke Hetze vertreiben.
Einer ist ehemaliger Politikwissenschaftsstudent, so ein Zufall ;).

Löscht diese App, diese ist nicht neutral und die Kommentare sind Beleidigend für nicht Ampelregierungsanhänger.
Diese App ist ein Skandal und sollte überprüft werden!

Servizio ridicolo, nessun engagement. Fortuna che non si paga perché sarebbe stato un furto. Assolutamente inutile.

I’ve been a Flipboard subscriber pretty much since they launched. It has gotten worse and worse, and now I’m ready to ditch it altogether.

Poor sources, ignored (dis)interest flagging, junk articles that are not in alignment with indicated interests, etc.

And, finally, the interface has become extremely touchy when you pinch zoom in to make an article or image larger/smaller or tap in the article but apparently in the wrong place, as it just jumps entirely away from the article you’re reading back to some BS culmination page with ZERO indicated way to easily get back to the article you were JUST looking at. This is extraordinarily frustrating. Especially as the only real path back to said article using history is non-intuitively going thru your Profile tab and finding the unobvious history button to click on. Or of course scan back thru all the headlines to find the article - even more effort in most cases.

Basically the UX and the content have degraded to the point that my recommendation is STAY AWAY. Find another source for your news culmination, because Flipboard now sucks.

Flipboard is probably the worst news app out there, the story headings are hollow and lead off to god knows where with a gazillion ads, I uninstalled it immediately

Qualität der Nachrichten ist jedoch die Quelle der man eben folgt bedingt.
Die großen Nachrichtenagenturen sind natürlich mit im Flipboard dabei.

You can never just get the news you signed up for!

It's always "recommending" articles that "other people with similar interests" viewed which are very disturbing.

I am interested in and want only what I signed up for: news, climate, and science. But when I flip through my feed IT INSERTS GRAPHIC SUGGESTIONS.

THE LAST ONE WAS LARGE FULL SCREEN PHOTOS OF HALF BURNT NAKED BODIES IN NAZI CREMATORIUMS! I CAN'T UNSEE THE CHARRED FLESH OF THEM!

How is that in any way similar to my interests?! Those people obviously do NOT have even remotely similar interests to me!

I DON'T WANT THAT CONTENT.

"SEE LESS OF" DOES NOTHING. No matter how many times I hit "SEE LESS OF" Conservative, Radical Right Wing Terrorist Propaganda, Horoscopes, Military, trump, Cheap Tabloid Gossip, Psycho Far Right Extremist margorie taylor thomas green....., Stupid Trends, RELIGION, Parenting, Kids, Marriage, Divorce, etc. it still gives me more of that exact same content! I have to block entire websites just because the button does nothing and then it just pulls more similar fake news from other sketchy sites. I thought I had wasted enough hours blocking Far Right White Supremacist Domestic Terrorism sites, but just today I learned about and had to also block White Supremacist tucker carlson's website the "Daily Call" because flipboard started throwing crazy conspiracy theorist right wing stuff from that into my feed...all because "people with similar interests viewed." I feel like I spend a lot of time blocking sources I have already blocked a dozen times because the failed algorithm just gives you whatever IT wants and never listens to what YOU want. It just keeps giving me the same trash all day every day. There's really no point in trying to keep using this app, it never gets any better and it's literally been over a decade. I'm done fighting it because it always wins.

JUST GIVE ME WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR MANY YEARS AGO. LEGIT MAINSTREAM NEWS. SCIENCE. CLIMATE CRISIS. Stop trying to get cutesy with your dumb AI algorithm and throwing unacceptable content into my feed that I can't get rid of. You can't even hide an offensive article on your feed you didn't ask for. Your only option to make it disappear entirely is to block the entire source. The algorithm is so dumb and desperate, it was "recommending" articles hashtagged "#GUINEAPIGS" (guinea pigs?! Seriously???? WT....!) and then the article wouldn't even have anything to do with random guinea pigs anyway.

I literally just got an article #HUMOR in my feed about "comedians making grim jokes about school shootings" because "people with similar interests read this story". I AM NOT INTERESTED IN #HUMOR. ESPECIALLY SUCH DARK HUMOR. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT JOKES ABOUT CHILDREN BEING BLOWN TO BITS. STOP INCORRECTLY JUDGING ME WITH A VERY FAILED ALGORITHM THAT JUST MAKES ME UPSET AND FORCE QUIT THE APP AGAIN.

I just want the sources I follow.
Stop with trying to be invasive and assuming what I like and may want to see because you're never right and just make me get upset and force quit the app and go to Google news instead.

There is never any reply from technical support when contacted.

It's just a really crappy, desperate app of jumbled crap.

I really like it. It's nice that this is the one news app that doesn't throw negative stuff at you.

I signed up with Flipboard Magazine for the first time and discover how easy it was to create a magazine on their website. I was amazed to know that there are more than 100 million people who use this Magazine monthly. I have posted a blog by Ella Mason entitled 4 Tips to Elevate your LGBTQ dating site etiquette and it was successful.

When i downloaded the app i thought great , a news platform with plenty on it. But it’s not long before you see how Woke and left wing bias not to mention the miss information .
Constantly looking for an excuse to slag off Trump and anyone that doesn’t fit in with its political agenda. I’m going to delete Flipboard.

Can’t write the truth on this site, they censor all opinions that go against the government an mainstream lies.

I loved Google Newstand. I could subscribe to all the RTF feeds and source stories for influencers, celebrities to academics and topics I love. Flipboard just has highly commercial drivel and delivers about 20% on what is a massive niche in the market - really personalised news. I think there's about 10 or so things you can subscribe to. I find the new sources lack meat for what I need and hey I ain't a fussy customer. I just want relevant stuff.

Lässt sich leider überhaupt nicht nutzen. Wenn man einen Artikel anklickt, erscheint über dem ganzen Display Werbung von Business Insider. Diese lässt sich nicht schließen, wahrscheinlich erst dann, wenn man das angebotene Abo abgeschlossen hat. Schade.

It is a decent platform and they make great apps for all devices. The sources they allow / vet to have on their app is very questionable and spread a lot of miss information. They need to ban a lot of sources like the express news paper. Honestly, I cannot block them on the news feed!? Flipboard need to police this more!
