DARK WAR SURVIVAL: Extreme P2W Game, Super Toxic with Penalizing Schedules for EU.
Dark War Survival had interesting potential, but now after over a year of playing, I can say it’s dominated by extreme P2W mechanics, schedules incompatible with the European time zone, and opaque management of migrations.
Very suspicious whales and forced competition: it’s evident that some accounts grow anomalously, destroying the game’s balance. It reeks of a strategy to push spending just to stay competitive.
Resets and main events are calculated on Asian/American time zones, forcing European players to play at night or lose advantages.
Blocked and unfairly managed migrations: You can’t freely change servers with tickets. Requests are ignored or handled arbitrarily, with random server merges without telling you before and no programming: it happened 2 days before the merge and that cancel reservations and trap players in toxic environments.
One person “the President” has all the power and can do whatever he wants.
The strongest alliances (max 2/3) impose impossible requirements just to avoid being kicked out, turning the game into a form of extortion a black mail. This involve also minors.
Bullying and harassment are on daily base.
My server had almost 35 alliance now is almost a dead one run by 3/4 bullies and the rest are other 4 that are now wrecked by the constant frustration and abandonments.
You try to keep going because you spent money in the meanwhile!!! But there is a breaking point.
Non-existent support: Reports of misconduct, blackmail, issues, bullying, extortion or account trafficking are ignored. On Discord, criticism is silenced or dismissed with sarcasm.
Conclusion:
It used to be a strategic game; now it’s pure exploitation. AVOID!!!!!
The moderation of this mobile game is horrendous. From censoring portions of words because they *may* offend someone - for example the word thumping becomes t******* - to allowing content that is irrefutably offensive. Contacting support for alleged transgressions is pointless. They will refuse to clarify what exactly it is you have done wrong on the grounds that if they do, you will disseminate their response. Not at all surprising for several reasons. While this company is listed and registered as a Hong Kong company, it is a subsidiary of Beijing based Rivergame, under the umbrella company Beijing Jiangyu Interactive. All of their moderation is politically motivated.
I started playing Dark War Survival after seeing an ad that caught my attention. The gameplay shown was very different from the real game, but I still found it interesting and kept playing. There are many similar games out there, but I decided to stay and even spent some money, since I can afford it. Along the way, I also met different players in the community.
Over time, I realized the game is extremely Pay to Win. It’s nearly impossible to progress without spending a lot of money, especially during events. Paying players dominate completely, while others are forced to either give up or get frustrated because they cannot compete.
Another huge issue is the community. Moderation is weak or almost nonexistent, which allows:
- Serious threats between players (I’ve received some myself).
- Harassment and bullying, even involving minors.
- Constant attacks from stronger players, who use the game’s mechanics to humiliate or control weaker ones.
Many alliances even expel members just to avoid being targeted, which only makes the environment more hostile and toxic.
I’ve seen real-life threats and even players making apologies for extremist groups. Meanwhile, harmless comments (like jokes or memes) get censored, but political, hateful, or violent messages are left untouched. Players easily bypass filters by using numbers, caps, or dots, and moderators ignore it.
All of this has serious consequences:
- Constant pressure to spend more money.
- Players feel stuck because they’ve already invested time and resources.
- A hostile environment that causes stress, anxiety, and even isolation, especially among younger players.
The game’s translations are poor, leading to frequent miscommunication. In many cases, this just makes conflicts between players worse.
Dark War Survival could have been just another war strategy game with mini events, but what should have been harmless has turned into something worrying. Between Pay to Win mechanics, a toxic community, and almost no moderation, the experience ends up being more harmful than fun.
It’s urgent that the developers acknowledge these problems and take action to improve moderation, safety, and transparency.
