Jamie Bonner has been super helpful…

Jamie Bonner has been super helpful with regards to our office move. He has gone above and beyond to help make sure we have the correct broadband set up for our new office. He has been very patient with me, especially considering I am not technically minded. He explained everything clearly and I am confident that we have been given the best broadband option we could have.

8 weeks wait! and counting!

I signed up for internet and phone services over 8 weeks ago, and the installation is still not complete.

At the time of signing, I was assured everything would be up and running within 10 days, especially as I signed with a manager present. That promise has been completely missed.

Since then, the experience has been extremely frustrating:
- The first installation appointment was a no-show
- The second was marked as “no one available,” which is simply not true — I am the owner of a café that opens at 8am, and I was there myself from 7am that day

The installation date has now been moved multiple times, and after countless calls, no one seems to know what is going on or take responsibility.

What’s most disappointing is the lack of care from both the sales representative and the so-called project manager, who have shown little urgency or accountability throughout this process.

This delay is not just inconvenient — it is actively affecting my business.

Overall, a very poor experience so far.

Telephone System Upgrade

We upgraded our telephone system and needed a full tutorial from a member of the team. Robbie Holland was excellent and had the patience of a saint, as this 62 year old dinosaur was asking question after question.

Robbie (Holland) was a really good…

Robbie (Holland) was a really good instructor. Taking time to explain everything in a way that even some as terrified of technology as myself could understand. The training was very necessary & very relevant, helping me to understand everything about the system, its administration, functions and its wider capabilities.

Thank you Robbie Holland

We’ve been clients for a long time, although I’m personally quite new to the system. I recently requested a training session to help me get to grips with it, and this was delivered by Robbie Holland. I was genuinely blown away by how knowledgeable, patient, and helpful he was.
Robbie took the time to work through all of my questions, while also correcting and configuring the system exactly how we wanted it. This would have taken me a huge amount of time to figure out on my own with my limited experience, yet Robbie extended the session, implemented the changes himself, and talked me through everything clearly as he went. He also ensured parts of the setup were future‑proofed, which was greatly appreciated.
As a result, when a colleague recently requested a change, I was able to access the system confidently and make the updates quickly myself.
For transparency, we have been reviewing the systems we use across the business. However, following this interaction with Robbie, we feel far more confident and satisfied with the service available to us, knowing we are in such capable and supportive hands.

1-1 training

The 1-1 training I received from Robbie Holland was great. I had a list of questions prepared prior to the teams call and Robbie answered them all. Worth working with the system a few days prior to the training to know what question to ask.

The online training from Robbie was excellent. Very clear and explained each process at a speed I could understand and follow. He also paused at key points for any questions I had. The training was about 45mins which was perfect, covered everything without dragging on.

From Training to Live Use – Completely Seamless

The training which Robbie Holland provided was incredibly helpful and informative, making what could have been a complex transition feel straightforward and well supported. Everything was explained clearly and in a practical way, which meant we were able to quickly get to grips with the system.

Since going live, we’ve been able to navigate the phone system with ease and confidence, with no issues or complications at all. It’s made a real difference to our day-to-day workflow, and the system has been running smoothly from the outset.

Overall, a really positive experience and we feel much more confident using the platform thanks to the quality of the training provided.

Worst company ever DO NOT USE FOR BUSINESS

Why one star I would not give them that
6 weeks ago they put a digital phone system and internet in our offices from day 1 they have never worked right six weeks later there in the bin waiting for the refuge collection and we’re looking at another company coming in who know what there doing. Phone call after phone call pushed from this person to that person people pretending to be managers but just people on the phones 🤦‍♂️ employ this company at your peril not interested in you or your lost business. Well they won’t be getting any money from me, bring on the solicitors

Got to the end of my contract and…

Got to the end of my contract and decided to use BT for broadband connection. Didn't read the small print in the contract . Apparently 3 years doesn't mean three years . You have to let them know 3 months in advance. Total con . Just another way of making money out of a small business. Rates were triple my new provider.

Poor aftercare and incomplete commissioning across multiple sites

We use Focus Group across five properties. The installation quality has generally been fine, but the aftercare and post-commissioning support has become genuinely unacceptable.
At our Norfolk site, data points installed by Focus Group's own engineers were left unconfigured — not connected to the internet, meaning equipment (Sonos, heat pumps) couldn't be set up. This was reported over a month ago. Despite chasing repeatedly, it still hasn't been resolved.
A simple request to rename the WiFi networks consistently across all five sites — submitted in mid-March — still hasn't been actioned after three weeks of chasing.
The Wells-next-the-Sea guest portal wasn't set up to send sign-in data to our email, unlike the other four properties. A basic inconsistency that should have been caught at commissioning.
When I finally escalated directly to the project manager this week, rather than owning the outstanding issues, the response (Zoe Toppin) was to ask me to raise a support ticket. These are commissioning failures — not support issues. The engineers who designed and installed the network should be resolving them, not a generic helpdesk.
As a multi-site customer investing significantly across a portfolio, this level of aftercare is not good enough. The sales and install process works well. What happens after the engineers leave does not. I will now have to find another partner for our roll out and transfer all our existing premises.

Highly Recommend

Great experience with Focus and their onboarding team. They were patient, efficient and highly responsive throughout the transition process from our previous provider. Shocking. Avoid!

I’m genuinely surprised at how difficult our experience with this company has been.

While the individual engineers we dealt with were generally professional, communication has been very poor indeed. We experienced a long‑running issue that dragged on for months without being properly resolved, despite repeated engagement.

When we asked to exit the contract, it took weeks to get a meaningful response and, even now, after notice has been agreed, we are still waiting for offboarding to begin. We are still chasing basic steps such as providing read-only access for our new provider.

I would strongly suggest that anyone considering Focus Group continues to shop around. Avoid!
