Forbes solicitors provided legal sevices for the sale of our commercial property.

The sale turned out to be quite complicated and Jo Higham and Stuart Shorthouse were brilliant.

They were very thorough and sorted all queries/problems effectively. They communicated regularly by email and by phone.

They were professional, efficient and friendly and we felt confident in their handling of the sale on our behalf.

Sharks avoid this company:- “Conditional Fee Agreement” 100%Success fee !! Had I have read the papers I would NOT have enlisted this company to act on my behalf, but due to suffering with mental health issues I did not read the papers. They have sent me bills of costing's amounting to £28,765.50, when I'll be lucky to get a fraction of this money from my late Mothers Estate because it is less than 100k. I'm now raising my complaint with the ombudsman to have them look at their conduct. Honestly I'm going to be lucky if I get anything from my late mothers estate, its outrageous that these firms can get away with what they are doing. They are clearly of the knowing that I suffer with mental health issues & this case is making me very ill with anxiety & they don't really care to hoots about my welfare, all they care about is their profits. This company has done in the region of several things on my case to move it forwards putting in unrealistic offers & their costing's are now at £28,765.50 pounds, since my previous costings email its gone up by £648.00 pounds & all I've received is 1 email stating there will be a case hearing in Feb 2021. My share of the estate if I was granted it, is less than 25k if I'm lucky. They are forcing my Sidling's to take less from the estate when we should all have an equal share. Forbes are going for an unrealistic offer to settle my claim with my siblings of all things, which is very sad on its own merits, But giving Forbes in the region of 18k & me walking away with 12k if you think this is reasonable, you need to think again. Forbes were fantastic in dealing with our Sale and Purchase. The property market is crazy at the moment and all law firms are busy which caused the chain lower down in our sale to be so difficult and slow, but Forbes were continuously chasing and keeping us up to date without us having the chase them - they even called us well after 6pm to update us - which shows just how busy they are but would still take the time to contact us. I had 100% confidence in that we had instructed the right firm for our sale and purchase and would recommend. Kathryn is also so calm on the phone, which is what you need when we are panicking that things aren't going to happen. Thank you!!

Lisa Atkinson was very helpful answering my many queries/questions, explaining the process, insightful and all before taking on my claim. After taking on the case, writing pre-action letter as l had done a lot if leg work negotiate a settlement. I found 15% success fee more competitive than other firms though l would have preferred the full settlement amount without 15% deduction as it was settled out of court, nevertheless would use again & recommend Lisa & Forbes Solicitors
