They made a website I am proud of. This website was made for my son who was killed and they did an awesome job. Would recommend them to anyone who asked.

The whole team was so helpful and supportive through the whole process. They got back to me within a day if I had a question. They have detailed videos that explain the steps moving forward and how to create your own website! Plus a selection of beautiful templates to choose from.

Without question, one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a service driven company.

I signed up for The Free Website Guys' so-called "free" service in May 2025. I paid for hosting, purchased and upgraded a WordPress template through their affiliate recommendations, and was repeatedly promised my website would be completed. Weeks turned into months. Deadlines came and went. Communication became increasingly unreliable, and eventually the lead developer, Sven Nilsen, simply disappeared.

After months of waiting with virtually nothing to show for it, I gave up and built the website myself using the WordPress template that I had purchased, which was later replaced with a different WP template, altogether.

Then, unbelievably without notice nor permission, in 2026, Sven Nilsen attempted to charge my credit card again for the same amount, despite never completing my website, never delivering the services and never building the website that ultimately went live.

I disputed the unauthorized charge with my bank, as anyone would with unexpected charges.

After failing to respond to any of my previous requests, Sven Nilsen finally resurfaced to respond with A short email stating he had "accepted the dispute."

Despicable. No apology. No explanation. No accountability for months of broken promises, missed deadlines, wasted time, lost business, or the fact that I had been forced to do the work myself, after several attempts to reach them. They use the word "Free" to lure clients, get them to buy affiliate hosting, and Wordpress templates, then think they can quietly charge credit cards in the future. Thankfully, my bank's fraud department intercepted these unauthorized charges, and banned the merchant from unauthorized access. CASE CLOSED.

Buyer Beware: If this is how The Free Website Guys operates, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. My experience was defined by broken promises, poor communication, failure to deliver, and an UNETHICAL attempt to charge my credit card a second time for no services rendered.

Proceed with extreme caution. One star is a generous rating for the Free Website Guys.

I'll be completely honest with you-when I first heard the words "free website," I was skeptical. Deeply skeptical. My initial thought was that "free" meant corners would be cut, communication, would be minimal, and I'd be left with generic and forgettable.
From the very first interaction, this team shattered every preconceived notion I had brought with me. The level of computer advisement they provided was nothing short of extraordinary. They didn't just build a website-they educated me every step of the way, walking me through the technical landscape with a clarity and precision that I didn't expect from any service, let alone one that carried the word free in its name. There accuracy was impeccable. Every recommendation, every design decision, every technical suggestion was rooted in genuine expertise. There was no guesswork, no vague platitudes-just sharp, informed, professional guidance that proved itself correct at every turn. This dedicated team spent six hours in perfecting my website and even when I edited things from this perfection Sven without a single sigh, without a trace of irritation, without making me feel even one ounce of shame for what had happened, he simply said "Let's fix it" and he did indeed this is the ethics and integrity that comes from this stellar team and free website guys. I would provide ten stars if I could. Without reservation, without qualification-absolutely outstanding!!!

They built me a BEAUTIFUL NEW WEBSITE... FOR FREE! They were so professional, helpful and friendly, I am not a techy person but the instructions for me were clear and easy and when I needed guidance they provided it... the website looks like a million bucks! Team was incredible at helping me build my first website for my first business! They helped me build the initial template and any other additional support I needed was provided in a great detailed easy step-by-step matter. Very nice and professional. As a Designer I knew I would be fussy 😅 along with being a new mum I had very little time to spend on building our website! They reached out to me and I thought it was too good to be true so did my research and now I can confirm it is exactly what they offer. I sent so many threads of messages with questions and they always came back to me when they could with answers or to tell me it’s sorted. I very much recommend, I actually already have! The communication from Sven was great and they didn't pressure me when life got a little hectic to finish. Other than paying for the domain it was completely free as they said it would be for their work. Thank you. I forgot to mention that I love the logo they designed for me too.

The Free Website Guys made my site for my nonprofit. The customer service by Sven was SUPERB! The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the process was super long. Also I thought that when it was finished they would walk me through the setup since I had to go in and add all of my info and pictures onto the site.

So appreciate the work FWSG did on our behalf getting our website established. As a small veteran-centered nonprofit, we lack this skill.

The FreeWebsiteGuys overcame my initial 'too good to be true' scepticism and delivered a polished, professional website with minimum pain (for me).
I'm someone who has 'built' countless WordPress sites and then left them to fester because I don't know what a widget is. Given my level of tech phobia, I was nervous about working with professional developers, but the FWG's communication and guidance throughout the process was exemplary.
Obviously, I had to provide some info and do a few things, but their video tutorials and email support got me through it. They were extremely response throughout, answering questions, making corrections/adjustments and keeping me updated on the progress.
I am really pleased with my website and am grateful to the FWGs for creating something practical, useable and way beyond my poor technical abilities.

i was amazed how honest these guys are. They assisted me in designing my website from start to finish for free. Sven the tech that worked with me made the process less difficult. He is patient and will assist you all the way. You could ask questions and you will receive an answer.

They were really wonderful to work, extremely communicative, kind, and willing to work within your parameters, especially Sven. Highly recommend!

Sven was super nice and very attentive. I thought there would be more set up for me on the backend in terms of making an online portfolio, but it is a lot of me doing the work to make it look the way I want it to. I think if I wanted a more business oriented website it would have been an easier transfer, as this takes a bit of a learning curve. The instruction videos are super helpful though! Very happy that it actually ended up being free as I just paid for my own domain name.
