Optimal Funding is honestly one of the worst prop firms I’ve dealt with.

My mistake was trusting a “buy 1 get 1 free” referral offer and jumping in without fully understanding how bad and restrictive their rules actually are. Once I went through them properly, I already felt like something wasn’t right — but I still decided to give it a chance.

At the time, I was very busy running my perfume business and shop, but I still made sure to stay active on the account. I was fully aware of their 30-day inactivity rule, so I placed trades regularly (usually every week) just to keep the account active. These weren’t random trades either — I made sure each one followed their minimum 5-minute holding requirement, often holding for around 10 minutes.

For comparison, I also have accounts with other propfirm ( not using name because people will think its paid ), where I use the exact same rotation strategy across multiple accounts — and I’ve never faced a single issue there.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I received an email saying my account was “hard breached” due to inactivity. That made absolutely no sense. I immediately contacted their support and explained everything clearly, but got no response at all.

I tried to move on and focused on my second account, which was actually performing well. But then the same thing happened again — another “hard breach” for inactivity, even though I had been actively trading.

I emailed them again, asking for proper clarification or proof, but once again, no reply.

The biggest problem here isn’t just the rules — it’s the lack of transparency and zero customer support. If you’re going to enforce strict rules, at least have the decency to respond to your traders and explain what actually went wrong.

Lesson learned: don’t get tempted by flashy offers, and don’t trust prop firms with unclear or questionable rules. There are far better and more reliable options out there.

I would strongly advise others to be very careful before choosing this firm.

Even though it is a new firm, Optimal Funding has quite good features and services and this company has the potential to become a large company in the future.
