GermanShop24 is a family owned business and was founded in 2007 by Stefan Kuehnert - originally as a hobby. We started selling over the internet in September 2007 after setting up the very first version of our online shop. The assortment back then was just about 250 products, but still we got in the first order just 2 days after the initial launch. During the following months, orders slightly increased to 5-6 orders per week and there was not much progress in 2008. In 2009 Katrin Kuehnert joined the team and we started to expand our assortment. At the end of 2009 we offered about 2000 different items - all available to be ordered. Orders also went up in 2009 to about 30 per week. In the years between 2010 and 2015 we nearly doubled our revenue each year and we now have a yearly sales volume of about $1.5 Million making us one of the leading online shops for German food world wide, even though we are specialized in shipping to the US. In 2015 we expended our business and now serving wholesalers in different countries including the US and China. We offer air and sea freight service for wholesalers and take care about fulfilling all legal requirements for the destination countries.

Fntastic store, huge selection of products and great customer service

I can finally find all these items that i have missed so much over the past 10 years. There's no place like home and thanks to GermanShop24 I get to bring a piece of home to the U.S.
Item charges are reasonable and so is the shipping. All merchandise arrives in a timely manner and is usually packed very well. I place one order each month and I have not yet had any issues at all. Customer Service is outstanding.

Great!

I love germanshop24 customer service is great..they got a lot of products to choose from..package comes on time and everything that i order is always in the package and in good shape..they pack it very good..recommend this company highly!! I live in Alabama and they dont have alot of german food and i do miss german food so thank you germanshop24!!

Very happy

Quick shipping. Everything was in great condition.
Items were wrapped individually in bubble wrap, so nothing got damaged.

Good place to buy German products

If you are looking for a lot of German products this is a very good place to order from. I would rate 5 stars if they would consider adding more products or when a customer asked for a curtain flavor of something to maybe be able to add it or offer to ship it at additional cost of course.

Thank you for your feedback. When we receive customer requests for new products, we consider every request very carefully. There are some factors, which prevent us from adding new items in the first place: For example, it is not allowed to internationally ship any items containing meat or cheese, even some liquids are not allowed. Besides that, we also make sure that the new items may be interesting for other customers, too. To add a new item to our assortment, we have a big effort, since we have to create stickers, research customs codes etc. Just adding an additional item to an order sounds easy, but it is not just like putting an item in a box.
I hope my explanation helps you to understand why we sometimes cannot fulfill every product request.

Rude customer service

I cannot speak for the products but here is my email interaction with the, I still can't believe it, manager:
My email:
Hi,

I have a question regarding the prices. The products advertised do on average cost a third in Germany. I thought that may be justified because the products need to be imported to the U.S., hence the increased retail price. However, when checking out I was surprised that you ship the products from Germany and that the buyer still has to pay high shipping costs and is responsible for customs. Would you mind explaining how you calculate/justify the prices?

Here is the answer:
we do not just sell products - we offer a SERVICE!
If you buy your oil at a local store and do your oil change at home, you also just pay 1/3 than any shop charges.

Don't order there because despite the manager yelling "service" at me, unfortunately there is no customer services.

As you can see the answer of germanshop24 below....I am right about the rude customer service :)

Transactions made easier.

Minimum orders are now $20.00. Not good for me. Input should be improved (i.e.mistakes in customer input should be displayed prominently),
I was not able to use my regular customer ID (email account) and had to contact Customer Service to have my own email account back. Otherwise, good service, decent product line.

sorry for any inconvenience with your password. We got a new shop system and for your own security, passwords were not transferred to the new system.
The minimum order value was introduced to keep our product prices as low as possible. We have fixed costs with any order - no matter how large the order is. For example: If someone just orders one bar of chocolate, we would actually made loss. So to keep the product prices low, we introduced the minimum order value. Other option would have been to raise the prices, but since most customers order for $50 or more that would have make no sense. I hope this explanation helps you to understand why there is a minimum order value.

Awesome Service!

I am so happy with my first order from GermanShop24! Being in the US, it's really difficult to find my favorite German products, and when I go to a German specialty store the prices are often unreasonable. In the past my family has sent packages once a year with treats, but we never get exactly what we want (usually more chocolates than hearty foods). Now we have an option to pick exactly what we want for a reasonable price!

The package shipped quickly, even with the basic shipping option, and arrived in perfect condition. Everything was double, sometimes triple packed. The glass jars were intact, boxes and sauce packets came without a crease, and we even got two bottles of Fanta that arrived with no problems. The fact that everything shipped so quick also allowed us to enjoy their new selection of German bread, which made us so happy.

We will definitely be repeat customers and recommend this service to anyone who is missing their German foods.
