Brilliant service - super simple to use. Wll defo use again the future

Found the process to be exceptionally smooth. I filled in a quick form and within the week had a great report that was very helpful and reassuring. Simple as that! If only the rest of the house buying process was as straightforward! 10 out of 10, would recommend, if only to take the pain out of one part of buying a house.

If you want to pay 600€ for someone to go into a house and tell you he doesn't like the bathroom fittings and they need changing or that the garden is overgrown go ahead and use these guys. Report was useless and incorrect, recommended upgrading units in bathrooms - when I questioned why I was told the surveyor thought modern units would look nicer but no issues with existing. It's just someone's opinions on how things look rather than a structural survey. We nearly didn't buy our house because the report stated that the whole house would need rewiring... thankfully a good friend is an electrician and checked things out and said the house was rewired quite recently and is up to spec. Such a waste of money and such rude people to deal with.

Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the person assigned to do the survey. Their office was about 150km away from the house to be surveyed, despite the fact GetHouseSurvey.ie say they will assign a "local surveyor".

The report they produced contained substantial spelling and grammar mistakes. For €600, I would have expected the report to have been put through a spellchecker at the very least.

I understand that the house to be surveyed was in very good condition and that therefore there may not have been much detail required in the report, but the vast majority was very clearly a copy-and-paste job with very generalised, unhelpful information.

The surveyor did not respond to any follow-up emails from either myself or my solicitor, even when GetHouseSurvey.ie got involved to ask for a response.

An inaccurate description of an outhouse within the report also caused confusion between both solicitors involved in the sale of the house, which resulted in an unnecessary delay.

The report did not mention that the property had no fuse board, a fact I did not learn until after purchasing and which ended up costing me thousands.

In hindsight I should have taken the time to time source my own surveyor, which would likely have been cheaper and definitely more reliable. I would only recommend GetHouseSurvey.ie if you are having difficulty finding someone yourself or have limited time.

The survey report is excellent.
I have to admit that I was pretty blown away by the level of details (incl. a lot of pictures), recommendations and highlights for our legal advisor.

Customer Service (Tara and team) is super responsive and absolutely lovely to deal with. So professional.

Using this service has been the absolute best decision!
It truly is worth every penny.
