I found myself burning the midnight oil preparing my Ltd Company's figures for the annual return to Companies House and CT600 Corporation Tax return. As a MicroEntity business, the requirements are normally not too onerous. However, I hadn't bargained that the additional requirement to submit figures to HMRC, which has always been a secondary but included function when doing the Companies House return, was now excluded.

I spent several desperate hours trying to do a workaround, completely unaware that HMRC expect you now to find a third-party to do this for you - it's too difficult for them they say ?

Anxious that I had a heavy learning curve ahead of me, I trawled through the internet and stumbled on GoFile, whose approach is both economic and allows you to almost complete the task in just a very few minutes and only then, when you're ready to submit, will ask for card payment. The current offer is 1st year £39.99 + vat. I eventually went to bed - yes cursing HMRC but happily amazed of GoFile's excellent software.

Like many of the other reviews the product, fairly easy to use, once you are passed the initial glitches. BUT it is very over priced, especially for a small business that has to file just 4 vat returns per year....!!!

A very easy, clear, and understandable way to submit VAT returns online. I really enjoyed using the website. My bookkeeper is now able to submit my VAT returns via Sage, so GoFile is no longer needed but I received a very speedy response to say my direct debit had been cancelled, and a very polite goodbye. Very effifient. I would highly recommend everyone to use Go File for submitting VAT returns online.

Over all, not bad. However I need a PC to upload a .csv file. In 2023+ entire business are being run from smartphones. I appreciate most will also have PC's.

Uploading is very easy and clear. But a cool feature to make it slick, for you would be just being able to add the values into your VAT page via a GUI. GoFile could the auto upload the system via the app GUI [not user manually uploading].

That change would be significant for a user point of view

GOFILE is Great. Quick answers for the questions, and I received answer from a human with useful advice. And easy to use. Like it! Thank you GOFILE!

I was dreading the change to the Vat return process due to complication and cost of the various software programs required making it almost not worth being registered any more. GoFile was so simple and easy to use, with the tutorials especially clear with simple step by step instructions (much better than most tutorials). Every quarter I think 'what do I have to do again?' then I log in to GoFile and the instructions are so clear and easy, basically click on 3 or 4 options and that's it. A pointless introduction/complication at present from HMRC but GoFile makes it easy and a great deal less expensive than all the other options I have seen. I have been using GoFile for a while now and give it 11 out of 10 at least.

Easy to use #Gofile spreadsheet and easy to understand! Just copy the template to your computer, I use a VAT spreadsheet every year, just fill in ten details from that on the template and upload to #Gofile! Only need to pay £30 plus vat pa!

Very useful bridging software and easy to follow steps by steps.

Great company joined them to let them do the work quickly and efficiently rather than myself..

it is simple to use and the support is helpful and very fast.

This is my second vat return and found it easier this time. Its always the same with something new but I am confident in my ability and the ease of the system to proceed in the future without issues.
