Lie about how long you'll be waiting don't answer when you call and when you can get a hold of anyone they're rude

Just got a letter in the mail telling me my Platinum coverage was about to expire and I needed to pay $89.95 to not loose my coverage.
Problem is: I don’t have Good Sam Platinum Roadside Coverage. I have no idea who these folks are. I looked them up online and it seems they prey on the RV community - I don’t have nor have I ever had an RV. I use AAA for my roadside coverage and have for a very long time!

Been with Good SAM for 10 YEARS & they weren't there when I needed them, Long story but was driving in Ore & FYI your GPS shows logging roads as highways(!) & got misdirected by GPS onto a 'shortcut to bypass bridge construction' . Road kept narrowing & my small motorcoach was suddenly in the ditch! Several times I tried calling Good SAM with no answer (Sheriff who came out said I was in a NO SERVICE area, no wonder. Now Good Sam is refusing to reimburse an $800 tow truck bill charged to winch me out. After 6 calls & final call to Marcus Lemonis, VIP Pres Hot Line was told I should have walked the 3 miles back out to main road in the dark & flagged a car down & told them to call Good SAM? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING? All I can say is Thank Heavens for 911 Service. THX to 911 the Sheriff finally found me & told 911 to get a tow truck out. Good SAM Claims agents are idiots. They denied an $800 reimbursement saying I did not have a 'screen shot of the 3 calls I attempted to make to Good SAM' which the Sheriff informed me "calls that do NOT go thru in a NO SERVICE area will NOT show up on your phone". Idiots! Let's see how Good SAM responds to my complaint filed with the Attorney General now. Ten years of paying insurance premiums & Good SAM won't pay an $800 bill. That's REPREHENSIBLE. And the last Agent I spoke with said they are not going to speak with me anymore since I am taking legal action AND they are not renewing my policy...like I am the bad guy. As a Senior citizen all I can say is SHAME ON GOOD SAM!

We paid good sam for years, never needed them, but to begin with when we did need them, they tried to tell us that our membership was cancelled way back in 2022, which we knew was Not true, after arguing about an hour, they finally said oh here it is, now it's raining, I'm wet, muddy, and greasy, after finally admitting our membership was valid they agreed to send a tow truck but from Gainesville Ga to Hartwell GA. it cost us over $400.00, the next day as we were still dealing with this, there was an advertisement for new members so much a month, And (Unlimited) mileage for towing, well needless to say we were pissed, so we dropped (good for nothing sam), and went back to AAA the original service with a (Way) better towing plan, so my advice is to go with a reputable company that's offered towing packages for years !!!

I have good Sam roadside assistance for my RV. I have never used it before today when I broke down and I called them. It’s supposed to have unlimited towing to the nearest service center. Well it has to be a service center. That will actually fix my RV. I can’t take it to a Volvo dealership after all. So I found a place 49 miles awaygood Sam membership said unlimited towing to a service provider. They tried to charge me $845.to tow it to the nearest service provider that could work on my RV I am switching back to AAA. I never had a problem with AAA. They towed my RV where it needed to go and I never had a problem.

I attempted to cancel my Good Sam Roadside Assistance membership multiple times via phone, email, and physical mail since disptch service was never provided but received no confirmation or refund. Despite assurances, my cancellation was not processed, and I was left without the service I paid for and the company has been unresponsive. I am now seeking a refund through other channels.

When I went to the AAA website, I inadvertently ended up signing up for Good Sam. Realizing my mistake when I received a membership card for Good Sam. I immediately sent an email to the CEO (who invited communications with members) and requested that my payment be refunded. After no reply several days later I sent another email to the same “Mr. Caring” and again received no response. It looks like there’s no refund coming my way - given the abysmal ratings this company has received it is not surprising. I will chalk this up to a learning experience and will contact the real roadside assistance program (AAA) and engage their services. I will also look for other sites that detail the poor reputation of Good Sam and share my experience; hopefully this will cause individuals looking into Good Sam to think twice about signing up with them.
UPDATE: my payment to Good Sam was refunded today, so I give them credit for finally acceding to my request to cancel my service and refund my payment. However I never received any direct contact with the CEO or company representatives to discuss my concerns so that is still a negative.

This company charged my credit card yesterday for Roadside assistance, I have not dealt with good sam. for a very long time. I wonder how many times the company gets away with this, I will never ever deal with a company that scams seniors,, Credit my account . This company should be investigated and class as a scam

This company is a joke. I signed up last year and my policy was $83 per month. I was out of country and they auto renewed my account and now charging me 217.00 per month. I called and spoke to a very rude young lady who stated this policy went up this much and because it auto renewed, this was the new policy amount. I requested a cancellation and they not only charged me a fee of $50 to cancel, but also another $50 dollars just because they could and the young lady said there was nothing I could do about it. I will NEVER work with this company again. Highway robbery and PISS POOR customer service.

The girl sold me on the roadside assistance and then took my credit card. Then when i told her i was leaving tomorrow she said you don't have coverage for 48 hours. So she took my CC and then after the fact informed me I can't use it on my trip tomorrow. Horrible! Then the supervisor came on the phone and I got him to cancel the order but the card will be charged tonight at midnight but I'll get it refunded but could take up to 30 days. Seriously!! Finally the card they sent me by email stated it expires one year from today, so I lose the 48 hours. Unbelievable. Advice, Don's Sign Up!

Emailed them asking why tire protection was not an option for a Tesla vehicle. Straight answer: We don't cover Teslas at this time. Very odd. They cover Jeeps and other LARGE off road vehicles.

Just signed up last night and still haven't been able to speak to a human being. I want to cancel & get a refund

First time I've used Good Sam for roadside assistance, been a member for over a year. I've now been waiting hours for a tow truck. They keep calling to tell me they are "working on it" and that the phone number of the tow company keeps disconnecting. I won't pay for another year after this. Really poor service, and their office team members do not speak fluent English.

This is, by far, the worst roadside assistance program! It took 17 minutes just to make the claim by phone with a very inept agent before he could even dispatch for help. Once dispatched, the provider estimated 45 mins to 1 hour to arrive. Here we sit at 45 minutes and they still haven’t arrived. We will be canceling and finding a better program. This one sucks.

called to have my flat trailer tire changed to my spare. went through the proper procedures to get to some one who could place the work order. Trailer was located at UHAUL storage lot, which she located on her computer. When i asked who was coming she said the "?" and lock smith, and gave me the number to call if i had any questions. Said it would be between 40 to 60 minutes, present time 3:45. Went to UHAUL and arrived at 4:10pm and waited for 2 hours, no one showed up. Called the number she gave to about 4 times and all i got was the answering machine telling me no one was available and the mail box was full and then it hung up. Their system needs a response system to verify the cluck in question received the order and that's right. Maybe also have some people who understand the English they speak

Called to request a tow after totally our car when hitting a deer on open highway. Was told we had to wait the 48 hours as we had just signed up the day prior. (What are the chances?) They told us we had to file an insurance claim. We don't have their insurance, so that was confusing. We were put on hold a few times supposedly being transferred to someone else then eventually got disconnected. Called back. After going through all of the same stuff, they finally gave us a claim number to use the following day. Called the next day only to be met with the same problems. Told us we needed to file an insurance claim and wouldn't/couldn't give us a straight up answer about even towing the vehicle. Got disconnected again. Called back and still couldn't get an answer or line up a tow. Gave up. Had to dump the car and get a rental as we were 2 hours from home and had 6 hours to get to our destination.

Horrible response for roadside assistance. 12 hours later they have a tow truck call. Unbelievable. Called to complain and was told, “get over it because I’m not the first customer who called to complain.” Don’t waste your money.

I have had Good Sam Platinum Roadside Assistance since 10 Aug. 2017. Account #804262608. This is a report of my only service claim, #2116 3984. My RV is a Damon Daybreak Motorhome, Class A, 35’, 2007. The following events occurred on Wed. 24 Jan. 2024 in Yakima, WA. The driver side rear brake caliber broke and brake fluid was gushing out when stepping on the brake pedal.

2:10 pm Called Joann in Miami Fl. She took all info., account #, phone #, location, problem, etc. She said she would call me back. Never did.
2:52 pm Called Dillon. Repeated all information to him. He asked for Service Claim #, Joann never gave me one, he said she should have and then he never gives me a Service Claim #. After 20+ minutes on hold, the phone line is disconnected. Never called me back.
3:22 pm Erika calls from Les Schwab asking what tire size do I need ? “Tire size ? I don’t need a tire repair… I need a Brake repair !!!” She will talk to her boss and will call me back. Never did.
3:56 pm Called Erika at Les Schwab. She said they do not do RV brakes and I should call Good Sam.
4:00 pm Called Sam, a woman at Good Sam. I explained my situation again and was transferred to Jay in Calif. at 4:09 pm. He asked for Service Claim # that I was never given. He gave me #2116 3984, looked at the data and seen that tire was listed as my problem. He reopened claim for brake service, started the process all over again, and I should get an automated phone call in 30 minutes. Never got the phone call.
7:48 pm Called back to Good Sam. Crissy says the claim shows I have a battery problem, then she says I have a brake problem. After 23 minutes on hold, at 8:13 pm the phone line is disconnected.
8:15 pm Called Brian in Michigan, when I called Good Sam. Told him about prior calls and gave him my Service Claim #. He said a coworker was investigating currently. Explained what Good Sam would and would not pay for. Placed me on hold off and on as he investigated my case. At 8:56 pm he asked me to end the call as he would find a mechanic and would call me back as soon as possible. Brian called me back at 9:09 pm to tell me JAG Mobile Service would arrive at 7 am the next morning to start repairs.

I purchased RV roadside insurance to cover any RV or camper problems on a cross country trip. Our camper blew a tire on Highway 15 just north of Salt Lake City. I called Good Sam, they texted me the name of the repair company and there aprox arrival time, about 40 minutes, after an hour I called the tow company, they had never been contacted by Good Sam and they don't contract with Good Sam. A Utah highway patrol officer helped me changed the tire. My brother tried to use the Good Sam service, they let him down twice. (He laughed at me after he heard my problem) I called Good Sam to complain, they said they were soooo sorry and offered a $100 refund, the problem is a paid about $165, they then raised the offer to $151.04. Good scam, you pay $160, they don't deliver and then they offer a lesser amount. Now NO check, first they say they sent it to the wrong address, still waiting, my first contact was November 2, it's December 20 now. AVOIDE THIS COMPANY. Their roadside assistance was horrible, their customer service is even worse. (They did say were sorry about a dozen times)
2024 Update: 2nd check was somehow lost again (Or never issued) and their going to issue a third refund check. What a joke, avoid this company!
