Firstly, they are called "Government Events" but have a .co.uk domain, instead of .gov.uk, showing they are not a government entity.

Secondly, they keep e-mailing you despite opting out of their communications multiple times.

Thirdly, MyPD, who are also a part of the Professional Development group, also e-mail you despite opting out. This seems to be an attempt to hide that they are continuing to spam you and get round e-mail filters you may have set up.

No idea how this lot got my e-mail but it's a constant barrage of useless sales e-mails with no way to unsubscribe or block them. They keep inventing new addresses to get round spam filters. If they are a genuine business then they have found the perfect way to make sure I would never deal with them.

Great platform. Very informative event with some fantastic guest speakers and LERO's. I found it a great opportunity for networking and bringing some of the information back to my role.

I get multiple emails a week that are irrelevant and despite me unsubscribing multiple times, they continue to spam my mailbox.

Surprised at the other reviews, as I found this an interesting and informative day, speakers kept to 20 minutes, which allowed for full concentration and plenty of Q and A. Well worth attending.

Block the domains governmentevents.co.uk, govevents.co.uk, and professionaldevelopmentgroup.co.uk in your junk email options and blocked senders. This will prevent these crooks using variations of email names from the same domain to bypass spam filters.

These imbeciles are time wasting spammers, constantly sending unsolicited emails in contravention of GDPR regulations to email addresses that they have illegally acquired from their criminal partners.

All the positive reviews are obviously fake or paid for by these fraudsters, the negative reviews are however clearly genuine.

I believe this website is a scam. One day, I received a phone call inviting me to discuss a “Higher Education Event” — the Safeguarding Students in Higher Education Conference 2026. As I was actively looking for similar academic events, I visited their website and registered.

Shortly afterwards, I received an email asking me to join an online meeting within just 2–3 days. I registered, but when I checked the meeting link on the scheduled day, I found that I was the only participant listed. This seemed highly suspicious, so I decided not to join and instead searched further about the organisation.

Later, I received follow-up emails pressuring me about missing the meeting, which further confirmed my concerns. After additional checks, I reached this page to share my experience.

Based on my experience, the website governmentevents.co.uk appears to be fraudulent or misleading. I would advise others to exercise caution before registering or sharing personal details.

Scam and phishing attack pretending to be compliance training from my own company. They have no affiliation with tge company I work at but they are using the name in the title. Spam and Scam, blocked!

Scam. Tried blocking so often but they always get through! So irritating

This is a scam company that are designed to phish your business. Please immediately block their entire domain as they will send you thousands of adverts from every name imaginable despite you blocking them.

Spammers. Nothing to do with the government. I didn't sign up and they're sending me unsolicited messages which get identified immediately as spam.
May advertise a respected "invited speaker", supposedly chairing events. Its easy to find online accounts of at least one invitee who had no knowledge of the organisation or the event, and no intention of attending, let alone chairing.

As someone new to my role, I found this course insightful, encouraging and really productive! It is 100% worth investing a day to receive this training, as you receive high quality, up-to-date research on what really works. Thank you to all the speakers who gave honest, open and challenging reports on the volunteering sector - I have lots of ideas to take back to the team!

Just constant spam for random events that have nothing to do with me. Just scraping the internet and sending out mass emails, pointless company.

Repeated spam communications. I have unsubscribed more than once but still they come

The presentations were excellent and extremely informative. This was the first Government event I had attended and would recommend them.
