Filming of minors

Was recently at a resort where grad city was filming for promotional purposes presumably. They did not care that minors were included without parental consent. This should be understood as a bare minimum non starter. They, however, actively resisted and threatened parents when confronted about their behavior. This company doesn’t seem to care and shouldn’t be supported for their efforts.

Air-Travel sucks

The events and the resort were amazing 10/10, but the flight situation was horrible. I was booked on an earlier flight than my classmates with no warning, if someone’s hadn’t shown up I wouldn’t have been able to fly with them. They need to step up their a-game when it comes to air travel, specifically with Delta.

DO NOT BOOK FLIGHTS THROUGH GRADCITY!

The good = GradCity did arrange events as they said they would.

The bad = DO NOT BOOK AIR TRAVEL THROUGH THEM. Only book your child's airfare yourself. Our child's flights on both the outbound and return had missed connections (weather on the outbound and a mechanical problem on the return). The airline (United Airlines) WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR A PARENT OF INDIVIDUAL STUDENT TRAVELER. United would only work with GradCity. But GradCity did nothing for the first six hours and finally updated everyone with three unacceptable options: 1) fly home and give up the trip (no money back). 2) Book your own travel onward - on our own dime. 3) Wait 4 days for the next flight that United could get the kids to the property. The trip was only 4.5 days long so that wasn't really an option.

So the cost for this trip basically doubled - all the parents (~50 or so) are currently fighting this out with GradCity. There was supposed to be travel insurance included - seems like this may either be a lie by GradCity, a very poor insurance policy with tons of exclusions or the insurance company is pushing GradCity around. Either way the communication from them was seriously delayed, of limited use and did not offer solutions that made financial or logistical sense.

#gradcity scam

#GRADCITY is horrible -My sons senior trip went to PanamaCity$750/ person (the Shores of Panama resort.) I'm convinced that this is a scam, the nightly activities as stated on the itinerary, did not happen, No shuttle picked them up for anything, not the neon party, not the mardigras party, nothing, They gave the kids pizza on the beach 2 of the 5 days.THEIR IS NO SECURITY NOR CHAPERONE as advertised !!!! Kids like it because they get to run wild with absolutely ZERO supervision. ... Lastly I booked the exact same room as what was booked for our 8 seniors, my room cost $1700 apx. Theirs cost was $750 PER PERSON X 8 = $6,000 and they had to sleep two to a bed DOES NOT INCLUDE MEALS. You are better off booking your own room at the resort

Oversold and under delivered

Oversold and under delivered. Huge sales speech yet once they have your money the shift begins. Not easy to work with, poor response rate in answering questions and concerns. Overpriced. They’re in it for the money.

Lost Luggage- Little to no Customer Support

The travel experience was horrible with the Charter company SunWing. Over 25 luggages went missing/lost on our flight back. We found out that they did not get loaded on our plane due to being overweight. We have been trying now for over 7 days to get our luggages verified/found and returned back to us (Michigan). It's been a complete disaster trying to get support from Grad City and SunWing.

1000$ that could have gone to school

was put in the hands of organizers who backed out, lost 1000$ as I could not afford the cost of a single room or could convince the other girls as the only guy to let me room with them, just lost wasted money with no way of reimbursement

GradCity Disappointment: Unclear Policies and Non-Refundable Deposit for Senior Trip

I paid a deposit for my daughter’s senior trip through GradCity but did not book for myself as their charges were triple compared to booking directly with the resort (I planned to book separately since I had no intention of attending teen events/parties). Later, I learned that my daughter needed me to book through GradCity to join the high school events (White Party, Luau), so I decided to cancel.

We could have stayed at the same resort in an oceanfront suite for less than GradCity's price. Initially, I thought one adult per room was sufficient (my daughter would be 18 at the time). After paying the "non-refundable" deposit, I was informed she needed someone at least 30 years old to accompany her. This rule should have prevented my deposit from being accepted/processed, and it should have been refunded since she wasn’t eligible.

Absolutely a disgrace this company they schedule layover flights instead of direct ones n there are no chaperones at airport at 3am. Kids almost missed their flights because of the incompetence of this company. Do yourself a favor save yourself time and money and send them somewhere else with a different company

Complete Scam

Complete Scam. Had kids sleeping on the floor after spending $2200 for a 5 night trip (my son included). Ridiculous. We have two younger kids and they will never use this company ever. I don't write reviews but I hope a parent reads this that is thinking of using this really shameful company.

This was an amazing trip

This was an amazing trip. I went with my daughter and her friends for their senior trip. I planned it through gradcity because I wanted that extra level of safety. I could not be happier with that decision. Outings felt safe and I was very impressed. I am a teacher so I am used to being very vigilant but I felt safe. The bars we went to were closed to the public so it was only chaperones and two grad groups. There was plenty of staff and they were very professional. Grad city staff went above and beyond to help when the airline lost our luggage. They were also very easy to get ahold of. I was very impressed and I highly recommend this group.

I went on my first Grad City trip last week to the Bahamas trip and it was great to see how organized everything was for the students. Everyone I spoke to was having an amazing senior trip. Keep up the good work!!

The True Grad City

We stayed at Breezes in the Bahamas for 5 days and were appalled by what we observed with Grad City. The company promotes safety and protection of the students in their care but this was not evidenced during our stay. Allowing 17-18 year old kids an all-inclusive option with unlimited alcohol is disgraceful. “Staff” were nowhere to be seen while students did whatever they wanted. We witnessed kids so drunk they couldn’t walk on their own, vomit on the beach or other common areas of the resort, and have a general disrespect for the resort staff and other guests. The students were observed throwing fries at an older gentleman while he napped in a sun lounger in an effort to get the seagulls to peck the fries off him; having an altercation with other guests after being asked politely to respect their space; turning volume up on their speakers after being asked politely to turn it down; smoking in non-smoking areas; leaving trash all over the beach to blow away or for all the seagulls to swarm in that spot; yelling down to others from their balconies; partying in the pool until 3am; running up and down the halls and telling in the middle of the night, the list goes on. Students damaged property (literally ripping a door off its hinges and fleeing the scene and passing out in the shower causing 2 floors to flood which resulted in the water being turned off), refused to follow hotel policies (including mask requirements), student allegations of spiked drinks, and student allegations of sexual assault. We witnessed first had as students attempted to buy drugs from locals on the beach; students so drunk they passed out on the beach, one of them waking, unable to stand or walk well on her own and then running into the ocean and falling under water unable to get up on her own, which resulted in other beach goers and security intervening to prevent her from drowning. One elevator ride included a student so drunk he couldn’t walk and was being carried by 2 other students who claimed not to know him. A “staff” member was with, simply stating “he just needs to drink water and sleep” - yes he does, but he never should have been allowed to get to that point. “Staff” were observed hanging out on the beach or at the pool enjoying their own alcoholic drinks rather than actually supervising the students. I understand the legal drinking age is different in other countries but what I can’t understand is how people can be part of something that supports the unlimited and mostly unsupervised drinking involving high school students. It’s absolutely disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves. If parents knew what they were actually paying for this child to participate in, I’m sure many would be appalled.

We apologize if your vacation was negatively impacted by any younger traveler. There are several high school tour companies that book/stay at the Breezes.

The Breezes provides a Student Travel Advisory posted on their website stating they accept student groups March through June, and advising guests if they prefer to visit Breezes when fewer students and/or younger guests are at the resort, be sure to select travel dates outside of normal nationwide Spring Break and Graduation travel periods.

We take the safety and supervision of our travelers very seriously. GradCity maintains the highest student to staff ratio in the business at 25:1. Our staff are screened, qualified, trained, and available 24/7 onsite. We have implemented several safety precautions to ensure the students' safety: pre-departure travel documents, emergency number, 24/7 on-site assistance, orientations and more.
Our onsite team consists of full time employees and 90-95% returning staff members who have rotating shifts to provide supervision and assistance throughout our program. We meet the students at the airport in Nassau, do an orientation upon arrival at the hotel, are out at the pool/beach daily, at the night events, in our resource room, and at any GradCity sponsored event/activity.
