IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND
The first thing we will say is that we are delighted with the end result of our kitchen 'transformation' and the excellent service and attention to detail we received from the templater and fitter Lee. So why one star?
We approached Granite Transformations in April of this year, who are situated in Langlands Garden Centre, near York. We know they have been there for probably more than 5 years. What we have never been told is the company at Langlands appears to be operating as a franchise. When their salesman (Darryl) came to our house after measuring up and showing us the various finishes, he gave us a quote. Which we accepted , but he went on to say that we had to pay a deposit (over £1000) to reserve the particular finish we chose and that we were very lucky as it was in stock. As we had our Golden Wedding and holidays coming up we could not go fully ahead with the project until August. When the girl rang for the deposit I was told to pay a company called Casa Mia Interiors? Another payment was due after the templater had been in July. we were then told that we could not have the finish we wanted as it was not in stock. This despite the reason for the deposit earlier mentioned. My wife and I went back to Langlands to choose another finish. It was our 5th choice before it was accepted. I was reluctant to pay the templating cost quoted (over £1300) as I was now beginning to feel that we may have been scammed. I did however pay it, but it was now payable to a company called Product Brokers Limited. None of this gave us any confidence that we would actually get our kitchen refurbished. The company did knock us £100 off our final payment, but what a shocking way to be treat.

We’re sorry to hear about the confusion and concern you experienced during the process. We completely understand how the different company names appearing on payments, combined with the change in availability of your original worktop choice, could have caused some uncertainty.
To offer some reassurance and clarification, Granite Transformations operates through a franchise network and has done so for many years. Our local business has been established in the area for over 20 years, and Granite Transformations itself is a long-standing, reputable brand. This means our customers benefit from both a locally operated business and the backing and reassurance of an established national and international brand.
We appreciate the disappointment surrounding your original choice of finish. Stock availability can unfortunately change and, given the circumstances, we recognised the frustration this caused and reflected this with a reduction in your final payment.
We never want a customer to feel uncertain about who they are dealing with or whether their project is in safe hands, so we will take your comments on board and look at how we can make this clearer in future.
Most importantly, we’re very pleased that you are delighted with your finished kitchen and the quality of the installation. We hope you enjoy your transformation for many years to come, and we wish you both a very happy belated Golden Wedding anniversary.
