We ordered a brand new Renault Clio for March delivery on the new number plate.

When we came to collect our new car, at the time and date previously agreed, the car wasn’t in a hand over bay or out the front of the dealership it was around the side of the dealership in a car park amongst a row of other cars. Not other new cars, these were presumably other customers cars in for repair or service.

When we looked over our new car before driving off we saw it was damaged to the front near side wing. We’ve got no idea how or when the damage occurred, but we were lucky to spot this as it was raining quite heavily at the time.

Furthermore, we’re not sure whether this dealer regularly does new car hand overs in a car park, but I do hope they didn’t do the handover in this way to mask the damage which they didn’t want us to see - I guess we’ll never know.

Anyway, we rejected the car and insisted on a refund.

Another great experience at Gravells Hereford. I purchased my sparkling new Clio yesterday, and Nick Shepherd patiently talked me through all the features and made sure I was confident before I drove home. I had initial problems with the MOT and servicing of my Renault Captur when Gravells took over the Hereford Renault dealership. My service plan could not be transferred by EMAC because of the change of dealership but the servicing was honored by Gravells with what was left in the pot when I had to cancel the plan at no extra cost to myself. The MOT could not be completed because the systems were not in place after the dealership transfer with the added complication that the old dealership did not have any follow up plans to inform customers when both the service and MOT, in particular, were due. I can confidently say that with the new dealership there is now a full and robust system in place where their valued customers will now be informed when a Service and MOT are due. I found the reception staff Samatha and Rebecca, also Shaun the new after sales manager very efficient in the way they solved the issues I had during the dealership transfer to my complete satisfaction, well done.
