AVOID!

i only wanted some information on costings, if they had concessions for those on incapacity benefits, what the speeds are, etc. it took me to a form to fill out my details, i clicked next expecting to see a query section, instead i received a "we will let you know when you are set up". when what is set up? i haven't chosen anything!?! i am in the help and support section! and their customer services is nonexistent! i cant get hold of anyone! ridiculous! i will not be signing up for their internet! very poor service so far and i only wanted some information!

As per our call, we and all other full fibre broadband providers use a standard "Check Availability" form that allows us to see if we can serve you with our broadband, as we are not a national internet service provider, and full fibre coverage is not across the UK. Hence, when someone enters their postcode it matches the postcode, and if we can serve you - it comes up with the packages & tariffs available, and if we don't have the coverage to serve you, then it comes up with the following message:
"We're not quite with you yet.
But don't worry our network is constantly expanding!
To be notified when we are ready to deliver to your home, please fill in your email below:" Hence, you did indeed enter your details, and it come up with the message above. Following on from that, one of our team did contact you today, and you said you were looking for a social tariff package. Note, our social tariff called "Social Connect" can be found on our website as well, or on any google/bing/safari search: https://www.gigabitiq.com/social-connect/. We did try and help you today, to find another provider, but you were busy, so if you are interested to find another provider, we suggest you look at the Ofcom website, and check which provider in that list can serve you by again visiting their sites, and entering your postcode to see if they are available in your area or not. The list of Ofcom's social tariff providers and their criteria to serve you can be found at: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/saving-money/social-tariffs. Hopefully you can find the provider you need that serves you in your area. Note within that list, your existing provider, Virgin Media have a low priced service for £12.50/month, so if you are just looking for the cheapest, perhaps ask your existing provider for this, as you are already with them. Switch 'NOW' to Gigabit IQ

I recently switched to Gigabit IQ from Gigaclear after frequent issues with reliability, and the difference has been huge. My previous connection was frustratingly inconsistent, but since moving, everything has been smooth and dependable.

The upload and download speeds are super fast, which has made a noticeable impact on my day-to-day work, especially when working from home. Video calls, large file transfers, and general browsing are all seamless now.

I’m very happy with the service so far and would highly recommend Gigabit IQ. It may cost a bit more each month, but it is absolutely worth it for the reliability and performance you get in return.

Whenever I’ve contact Gigabit IQ, they are extremely helpful, courteous and friendly.
I rang with a billing query which was fixed fast. I mentioned something that could be an issue due to the challenging layout of my house. It has been extended many times so that several over 1 foot thick solid walls that were external, are now internal and difficult for wi-fi signals to get through. The Gigabit IQ person understood the challenge and helped me adjust the position of the mesh devices resulting in a stronger signal in areas of my house.
I’m so pleased that I moved my internet provider to this company.

Disappointed both at home and work address

My experience at my home address: after being one of the first customers to enrol, years before the service was rolled out in Grayshott, Grayshott Gigabit never managed to get me connected at my home address - if you rely on your customers giving you consent to pass on the fibre cable to their neighbours after they are connected, why not make that consent a condition in their contract? The mind boggles...
My experience at my business premises (also in Grayshott): after a flying start, things turned sour when I moved out of the premises and was trying to be helpful by putting the new tenant and Gigabit in touch with each other. Instead of jumping at the chance, Gigabit first charged me £49 for an entra month of service beyond my moving out date, then tried to charge me £120 for a "late return" of the router (even though I returned said router when the new tenant was dragging their heels deciding whether to sign up with Gigabit). Charge for a late return, if you have just charged for an additional month of service as well??? If this was all for lack of contact or communication, fair game. Yet I was in almost daily contact, explaining exactly what was going on and why. For what is ultimately a small company, this was, yet again, a very disappointing experience. Luckily I had cancelled my Direct Debit after they charged beyond my move out date, so they couldn't also take the £120. Of course they will not refund the extra payment without me reinstating the DD. Based on their messages, I do not trust that they will only refund rather than come up with another charge and take more money. So I've walked away. I'd rather be out of pocket than deal with them anymore...

Response to the Gigabit reaction to my review: I completely agree that full transparency and facts are important. So let me add some:
On home address - Access Limitations: one of our neighbours most definitely opted in to your service. It was the neighbour next to them (who was already enjoying your service) that refused to extend the cabling from his house to our neighbour's, so if your contracts do grant you the right to extend service to neighbouring homes then there was no reason no to - yet you did not.

On Business Premises - Service and Equipment: at no point did you state that it was not possible for the router to be passed on to the next tenant. I could have returned the router early if that would have been made clear from the start. Between 22 August and 2 September I sent multiple emails to get your acknowledgment of my end of service date (end of August) and that the router remained at the premises at the request of the next tenant. No response, until a next monthly invoice for September. Your explanation for the charge was that the next tenant had not taken out a contract yet the router was still at the premises. With September service paid, surely the new deadline for returning the router was end of September? So I arranged return of the router on the 10th of September (3 weeks early). You still tried to charge me on the 12th of September for a late return of the router and I have just received ANOTHER monthly invoice for October.
So your assertion that you cancelled the service and the charge as soon as you received the router back is not true. In fact, you STILL have not cancelled the service, have you?

On why equipment must be returned: if you had sent me that paragraph when I first told you the next tenant had asked to keep use of the router, I would have handed it in on the 22nd of August, a week before my requested termination of service.

On Refunds and Direct Debits: if I had not cancelled my Direct Debit after you took the September payment, you would have taken £120 on Sept 12th and you currently still have a next payment scheduled for October the 8th. So forgive me if I do not trust your intention to send me a refund.

My early termination fee was not valid as I have moved out of the UK.

In terms of resolving this privately, it turns out that you are more responsive on a public platform. Privately, I have already emailed you to now REALLY cancel the charges and leave me to get on with my life.

Thank you again for your feedback. We’re sorry you feel let down by your experience, and we’d like to offer further clarification on several key points to ensure the facts are accurately reflected.

🏠 Home Address – Access Limitations

We genuinely tried multiple ways to get your home connected. While our contracts grant us the right to extend service to neighbouring homes once a customer is live, we cannot override a neighbour’s refusal to grant permission for cabling across private land. In your case, unfortunately, none of your immediate neighbours opted in — a situation not unique to us. Even larger providers like Gigaclear, with significantly more resources, also didn’t build into your close for the same reason. A direct dig to your property alone would have cost several thousand pounds and wasn’t viable without neighbour participation.

🏢 Business Premises – Service and Equipment

You had an excellent and stable business service from the start in December 2023 with no reported outages, and we appreciated your positive feedback at the time — especially regarding improvements to your video uploads, as a YouTube creator yourself.

You mentioned being charged £49 for an extra month. This was only applied after you requested an extension of service beyond your move-out date to assist with the tenant transition. We obliged, but still needed the router returned in line with standard policy. Despite multiple email reminders (4–5 attempts over several weeks), the router was not returned, so a failed return charge was initiated — again, as per our terms & conditions.

As soon as we received the router back, we cancelled the service and the charge, as promised.

However, we must also highlight that the person who returned the router also removed the fibre patch panel and Optical Network Terminal (ONT), which should have remained at the premises. This is clearly outlined in our contract and is consistent with how all fibre ISPs operate. Removing & damaging the fibre demarcation is a cost for us & means the next tenant now requires a costly reinstallation, which would have been avoidable.

🔐 Why Equipment Must Be Returned – A Cybersecurity Risk

For your suggestion that the router should have been handed to the new tenant — this is never allowed by any UK ISP. Routers retain logs, configuration settings, and device histories. Allowing them to be reused between customers presents a serious cybersecurity risk, especially in business settings. It’s the same reason public Wi-Fi networks require caution and why VPNs are recommended on unsecured connections.

BT, Sky, TalkTalk, Virgin — none of these providers allow customers to hand their routers to someone else. Our policy aligns with best practices across the industry. We take this seriously to protect your data and the next customer’s safety.

💷 On Refunds and Direct Debits

As mentioned, we use GoCardless — a secure third-party platform. We don’t store any of your banking information and can’t process a refund without an active Direct Debit mandate. This is not a control issue on our side — it’s simply how the platform works. We offered to refund the £49, but need a secure method to do so, which requires reauthorisation through GoCardless.

We’re a local provider doing our best to deliver a high-quality service to our community — connecting businesses, supporting events with free community Wi-Fi, and investing in areas overlooked by larger ISPs. In your case, we also waived early termination fees (despite being entitled to them) and have never applied mid-contract price rises.

So, while we accept your right to leave a review, we also feel it's important to respond with full transparency and facts. Thank you for your feedback. While this is our first genuine 1-star review from a customer, we take it seriously and view it as an important lesson to ensure this does not happen again.

Your experience highlights a current challenge within our industry — the new One Touch Switch process, recently launched by TOTSCo, is still facing some technical issues. Unfortunately, in your case, the system did not automatically notify your previous provider to cease billing, which it is meant to do.

We wrongly assumed that by taking over your service at the wholesale level, your previous provider would automatically stop their billing. That assumption was incorrect, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused. We have already raised this issue with both TOTSCo and our wholesale provider and are updating our internal processes to ensure no future customers experience the same problem.

We responded to your initial email within 48 minutes and confirmed we’d be happy to offer a credit note once you provide evidence of the duplicate charge. We’re still awaiting that evidence, and as soon as we receive it, we will process your credit promptly.

While we regret the billing issue, we are pleased that your installation was completed on time, your service is live, and no concerns have been raised about the connection itself. We hope we can resolve this final matter swiftly and restore your confidence in us.

Brilliant Results

Mike, and the Gigabit IQ team, have been a superb support to bring fibre optic cable into our house. We live in a rural countryside Surrey village and rely on wifi for work teams video conference calls. Mike has personally attended at each stage of the installation to make sure that Gigaclear's work has been done properly. Gigaclear even quoted £3,000 for installation and Mike was able to get this reduced to zero charge. He liaised with Disking - a local IT services company - to complete the final stage of installation and switch on. We now have a reliable wifi with a massive 1Gbps speed. Thank you to the Gigabit IQ team and especially to Mike for his patience and advice at every step of the way!

Steer clear of this fake company!

Do not buy from this company as they are a fake organisation being run by a silly charlatan founder who goes by the name Mashood. You can Google him on Company House website. The company itself was founded last year 2024 and do not have the infrastructure to run a telecommunications company with proper customer service. Save your money and steer clear from this company! I have also reported the company to authorities for further investigation into their operations.

If I could go for 10 stars, then I would.

Everything has been perfect, an internet fibre dream.
From my initial contact, through to now it’s been a perfect relationship.

GigabitIQ’s (Grayshott) OTT service has indeed been OTT.
My installation ran like a dream, with Mike on site overseeing at all times.

Human responses to my emails have been quicker than an automated out of office.

Follow up site visits from Mike have been prompt, very helpful and nothing short of perfect.

The Security and Parental controls available via the GigabitIQ App are pure brilliance, I finally have a child proof solution and one that blocks VPNs as well.

My internet speed is faster than I could have ever wished for and with the Mesh set up we can wi-fi throughout the house.

My experience to date has been 100% perfect. This company are like no other company I have dealt with in years (likely ever), they will blow any ISP out of the park..

Don’t look any further, don’t hesitate, once you have full fibre (FTTP) with these guys, you will be super happy. Working from home and internet happiness has taken on a whole new speed meaning. And the kids no longer complain of laggy wifi when gaming.

Thanks team for everything and I look forward to continuous brilliance from your company and from my wizzy fibre..

Family safety online

I have never really paid attention to what my broadband provider gave me, but the Gigabitiq team were so thorough and talked me through everything. I love how easy it is to use the app. The family safeguard is amazing, it's so easy to use and I can block certain websites and apps that the children are too young for. 5 Star Support

I have been with Grayshott Gigabit for the past two trouble free years but today I woke up to no internet. A quick call to the support number and within 10 minutes an engineer was at the door with a new router, I was back up and running in no time at all. Other suppliers might be a few quid cheaper, I don't know, I haven't looked, but this type of local support when you are working from home is priceless.
