My composite 3 point lock door had closed partially and I could not open it. The lock wasn't working and I couldn't use the door at all. Shane came promptly after I spoke to him on the phone and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He opened the door then adjusted it to the best of his ability. He also very quickly returned to his workshop to cut a couple of extra keys and came back to drop them off. Shane was very friendly, helpful and professional. We recently had the total nightmare of finding it impossible to lock our front door the day before we were due to leave on a short holiday. I phoned the closest firm - HalesLocks - and spoke to Shane. The door and locks are around 15 years old, so I wasn’t very optimistic about the chances of a rapid fix.
Shane was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, quoted the probable price to replace the entire locking mechanism, and arrived with us with 20 minutes. He had managed to find a replacement mechanism, which he fitted within half an hour. He then went above and beyond what he’d promised (hence his description as a Master Locksmith?) and adjusted all the hinges on the door, re-aligning it so it fitted better than it ever had. He then cleaned the door, tidied up any mess made and charged exactly what he’d quoted by phone.
Shane, and his firm HalesLocks, were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and I’ve have no reservations about recommending them to anybody with problems with their locks.

It is very worrying to lock yourself out of your home due to a defective locking mechanism, I had many questions for Shane of Haleslocks ltd in Sidcup and despite the time and frequency of the questions Shane was extremely helpful and professional in his approach and allayed my fears.
He arrived on time in fact he was waiting for us and proceeded to gain entry into the house explaining what exactly went wrong and how to fix it, he replaced a broken spindle, we decided as the door was 10 year old to replace the gear mechanism completely as it showed signs of wear, all costs were fully explained beforehand Shane was quite happy to replace only the spindle which would have secured the door if we wished, all work was guaranteed.
Shane is friendly approachable and is extremely capable and informed, excellent communication.
Just what you need in a crisis, highly recommended.

Professional yet friendly, got back to me quickly and came out as soon as possible having given a “likely” quote via photo/video (spot on, in fact, and reasonable - especially on a Saturday!) - got the job done in a short amount of time, left the area tidy, and made sure I was happy with the work before leaving. Shane was very upfront and honest with the cost involved on the initial phone call. All confirmed, he was on his way and arrived promptly dealt with the repair efficiently ( jammed front door lock mechanism) made a few adjustments. Price was as we agreed on the phone. All I can add is if you want a honest , decent guy to come and deal with your lock problems then Shane is the man to call without any doubt.

I was recommended Shane as someone who could open our Yale safe for us- batteries had died and keys misplaced. Shane arrived promptly, he was professional ie asked me to be present at all times and at no point did I feel my lock combination was compromised. He was able to gain access to the safe and reassemble the lock with new batteries and left me with a working safe. He was chatty, friendly but most importantly good at his job and I would thoroughly recommend him from my personal experience. He also gave me valuable advice which is always to use someone certified by the Master Locksmiths Association.
