I made a mistake on ordering and didn't change the delivery address, I contacted the company with the correct address and they came straight back to me saying they had changed it for me. One of the Worst Online Shopping Experiences – Avoid Hamperwell!
I ordered a £52 Lindt chocolate gift box from Hamperwell as a thoughtful birthday gift for a close friend, and I’m honestly appalled at what I received — or rather, what I didn’t receive. First off, the product that arrived looked nothing like what was described on the website. The packaging was absolutely awful — it looked like someone had thrown it together last minute with zero care or attention. The worst part? I had included a personal birthday message for my friend, and they completely ignored it. No note. No message. Just a disappointing, substandard box that was clearly not what I paid for.
I tried reaching out to Hamperwell multiple times via email to resolve the issue — hoping for at least an apology or explanation — and they’ve completely ignored me. Not a single response. For a company that supposedly specializes in thoughtful gifting, this was anything but thoughtful.
If you’re considering ordering from them — don’t. Save your money and go with a business that actually values its customers and delivers what it promises.
Unacceptable service – incorrect item and no accountability
I ordered a £44 Lindt chocolate gift box as a thoughtful present for a family member. The description promised a specific selection of Lindt chocolates, but what arrived was a poorly packed box missing key Lindt items and stuffed with Ferrero Rocher — something I never ordered or wanted.
This wasn’t a minor issue — it was a complete failure to deliver what was advertised. When I contacted the seller, they admitted the error but refused to issue a refund unless the item was returned, even though it had already been given as a gift. That’s not just inconvenient — it’s unreasonable.
The lack of accountability and the dismissive, rigid response from their customer service was deeply frustrating. Instead of making things right, they pushed the burden onto me to fix their mistake.
This experience was a complete letdown and I would not order from them again.

A very nice alternative to a flower bouquet
For £49.99 and delivery, it was a lovely alternative to the normal bouquet of flowers as it contains Lindt chocolates and rose soaps (made from some sort of material so I'm not quite sure how that will work out in a bath).
The customer services was really prompt in helping to change the delivery address when I realised it was going to the wrong place! Thank you so much. But the info on the website re how I can change the delivery address wasn't very clear. Please make clearer.
TIP: HamperWell miss a trick, the bouquet of chocolate and rose soaps should also include a mini bottle of wine and an HamperWell name stamped mini wine glass. That would have made this present completely worthwhile for any female, showing total love and pampering. Give option on the type of wine at point of purchase as each lady likes different type. I hope to see this option in the choices in the future. Thank you HamperWell. My mum loves the novelty x

I have to say have I read the reviews before purchasing from this website? I would’ve probably not purchased however I purchased first then read the reviews now. I’m not quite sure what’s happened to other people in the past but what I do know is my purchase deserves every praise it’s arrived beautifully presented. It’s a nice size worth the money and it’s arrived in time for my wife’s birthday. I appreciate some people would’ve had some issues but this company deserves better praise than what it has received. I will certainly to use them again

No delivery even after 3 weeks, after spending 110 pounds. No phone number to ring, nobody replying to my email. I don't know what will happen next and if it is an honest mistake, but so far, bad experience. I don't trust companies that have no phone number. Regretting my purchase.
