Probate Valuation
Harding has been helpful, efficient and professional.
I needed a Probate Valuation for my Aunt’s house after her death and I contacted Harding. They immediately sent me details and costs and an appointment was arranged. I needed to rearrange and there was no problem. Charlie, the surveyor was extremely informative about the Probate situation and Sale which was valuable. In addition their thorough report came through within a few days. Finally, it is worth mentioning that their costs are very reasonable and below competitors. Thank you Harding and especially Kate in the Admin team and Charlie.

Limited Survey
Hardings was able to provide me with a more limited service as I had a specific issue to look into, rather than a complete survey. I appreciated their flexibility and Alaa did a really thorough job at inspecting and providing me with many possible resolutions to the issue at hand. He even helped solve some other questions that I had generally with follow-up phone calls. Extremely satisfied with their company (2nd time I use them).

Brilliant and thorough survey from Lee
Brilliant and thorough survey from Lee, who saved me from buying a terrible flat!
His super thorough Level 3 and drone survey saved me from buying a flat that needed 50k plus worth of works on the roof. We requested him again for the second flat I offered on, and he has been instrumental in a potential price renegotiation, while offering very sage advice in follow-up emails to the survey.

Take on work they can't do
Quoted to survey for reinstatement costs for a listed building. Needed urgently for insurance. Two weeks before surveyor could come out, and did all his measuring. Then three days later after the survey. told me they don't do listed buildings! Why accept the contract? Why send a surveyor? They have wasted three weeks of my time, and the house is still uninsured because of their incompetence

I would like to sincerely apologise for the experience you have had with Harding Chartered Surveyors.
You are absolutely right to be frustrated. We should not have accepted instructions for a listed building reinstatement cost assessment, and it was an error on our part to progress this without identifying the issue sooner. We do provide high quality reports for a building reinstatement cost assessment, however at present we cannot do these for listed buildings. This has understandably caused you significant inconvenience and delayed your insurance arrangements, and for that, we are very sorry.
The error was due to an administrative oversight, compounded by a new team member who missed the note that the property was listed. This is not an excuse but an explanation. We have already reviewed and updated our internal procedures to ensure this does not happen again, and all staff have been briefed so that such errors are not repeated.
We fully accept responsibility for the time lost and appreciate how important urgent insurance matters are. While we cannot undo what has happened, we hope you will accept our sincere apology for the disruption caused.
If there is any way we can assist you in moving forward—whether by recommending a specialist firm experienced in listed building valuations or by providing any supporting documentation you may require—please let us know.

Great experience with Scott Ingham
Great experience! We are purchasing a run down house for a full renovation and wanted the assurance of a full survey before building works started. Our surveyor was Scott Ingham and he did a fantastic thorough job. He was onsite all day and happy to answer any questions we had. The report was very comprehensive and delivered within a week - which was much appreciated. Initially we were unable to gain access on the day we had planned, both Hardings and Scott worked with us patiently until this was resolved. (They were well within their rights to levy fees for this but chose not to). So all in all a great firm, decent price, very comprehensive report. Highly recommend!
