Entertainers & Execs Beware!
Poor Service & Shocking Communication
Terrible firm. Multiple incorrect invoices were sent by different team members, all of which were paid immediately. Months later, they blindsided my business with an ‘unpaid’ invoice, despite payments being made and a colleague confirming their internal error. The situation was unnecessarily convoluted and could have been easily avoided.
Towards the Christmas period, one of the most difficult financial times for small businesses, a senior figure at the firm used this as an opportunity to disengage my business as a client. This was despite barely hearing from them throughout the year. Their team was consistently unresponsive via email and unavailable for calls, even when financial advice was requested. HMRC, unknown to me, was no longer being handled by the firm, leading to multiple penalties, despite clear instructions that assistance was needed. The firm initially acknowledged my concerns about previous bad experiences with accountants, only to repeat the exact same poor practices.
The sudden invoice seemed to be a response to internal feedback regarding the lack of hands-on service. From the moment this firm received their £500 introductory fee, communication deteriorated. There was no clear invoice reflecting this deduction, and after the initial meeting, I was ignored. Calling reception was pointless, as they would take messages but never follow up. Even when urgent support was required, there was no sense of urgency from their end.
Their preference for traditional banking structures, such as Coutts, felt restrictive, and I was never provided with banking details for an account they supposedly opened for me until I asked. Communication was inconsistent, with emails from random staff members lacking any clear job title, leaving me unsure whether I was dealing with a junior, senior, or trainee.
This firm appears to operate purely on legacy rather than actual service. If you are a modern business, particularly in entertainment, save yourself the trouble and use QuickBooks or another accounting software to take control of your finances.
The partners at the firm fully supported their colleague, making it clear that they do not prioritise client concerns. Do not be deceived by their name or reputation. Believe the 1-star reviews. Snobbery, disinterest, and extortionate rates do not equate to a premium service. Avoid.
