I recently bought my first home through HBW Law and Helena and Kelsey dealt with the purchase transaction for me. They kept me updated every step of the way, explained things very clearly and made the transaction run smoothly - highly recommended!

PLEASE AVOID!

I never write reviews , can't remember the last time I did - but my experience with HBW Law has been that appalling and unprofessional I felt it my duty to protect others from possibly going through what we had to endure.

1. Sent legal senstive information to someone else - This included the all our private information , our lease agreement , property management form , contracts

This is a clear breach of GDPR , what makes it worse was THEY WASN'T GOING TO TELL US , It is only by chance I caught this , and didn't even get a proper apology

2. Errors in important documents - When we eventually went to sign the contracts it became apparent that the documents was riddled with errors, when pointed out Chris (Conveyancer) simply took the documents and started scribbling them out with his pen right in front of us

3. Communication - I know majority of solicitors are guilty of this , but this was something else, below are actual quotes from the estate agents and the sellers solictors

Estate agents - "In my whole career I've never had to chase a solictor so much"

Sellers solicitor - "We have been ready to move forward for over a week, the buyers solictors are not responding to any means of communication"

If it wasn't for me phoning I honestly don't think we'd of ever had an update from them , a 2 occasions we had to find out important details/updates through our estate agent from the sellers solictors - if it wasn't for them we wouldn't of known!

They would never answer my calls or emails , I started knowing what they would say to me when I phoned I could even recite it by the end! "Chris is not available right now , can I take your number and he will phone you back?" They must of taken my number 20 times , and not once did he ever phone me back - btw I always gave them 3/4 days to phone me back before calling again.

4. As of me writing this - we have still not recieved our completion letter/pack. we completed on the 04/09/2026 - im currently writing this on the 09/10/2026 and have recieved nothing - I have asked for this to be sent twice.

In comparison , the sellers got their completion letter 4 days later.

5. Money from the bank was requested late (by chris) which resulted in the money being transfered late resulting in us getting the keys at 7pm!

Me and my young family , have never felt so unsupported by a company - who we payed a lot of money to.They didn't care and they didn't listen.

I chose this company due to their 5* google reviews , but I'm sat here honestly wondering how any of them could actually be real

Please , don't use this company

We used HBW law for a purchase of a repossession. When the company wanted the whole process completing within a short time frame we initially thought it would not be do able. Low and behold, we exchanged and completed on the date they requested. Helena, Kelsey & Chris, I can’t speak highly enough about. They made the whole process simple, keeping us updated throughout and making sure everything was in order. I would recommend them to everyone.

Helena and the team have been fantastic while dealing with our house move. From start to finish they've been friendly, explaining everything and keeping us updated throughout the process. Everything was sorted out so quickly and I would 100% recommend them.

From start to finish, Helena was absolutely fantastic. She was professional, approachable, efficient and incredibly responsive throughout the whole process. Selling a house can be stressful, but Helena made everything feel straightforward and kept us informed at every stage, always taking the time to explain what was happening and what we needed to do next.

Our appointment to discuss our existing wills with Amy was on time she read through our existing wills and advised on a few minor amendments which she explained clearly and precisely so we proceeded to amend our wills.
