The blood test was very difficult for me. This was the first time I ever try, and was an experience I won't be doing again. But at the end I can sent my results and I think everything was ok.

We’re so sorry to hear that you had trouble collecting your sample. We are aware that taking the test can be tricky for some customers which is why we have created a number of options to support our users with their sample collection process.
Within every testing kit, we provide a step by step instruction booklet which has been carefully written to include pre-testing recommendations, helpful tips and we encourage customers to reach out to our customer service team if they are having difficulty during the process. We specifically advise customers to give us a call if they are having trouble collecting their sample after trying two lancets so we can support them going forward with their test.
We also provide a video guide which supports our customers who prefer visual support. In addition, we encourage the use of our Hertility app which can be downloaded via the QR code provided to you in your test kit, which includes an interactive test companion that gives very clear instructions on each step of the testing process.
Our Customer Care team is available to assist from Monday to Friday 7am-6pm and on Saturdays and Sunday from 8am-4pm with any issues customers may have when taking your sample. All of our team are trained and available to help our customers with sample collection and we would have been more than happy to speak with you on your testing day.
We also offer personalised 1:1 guidance via video calls, providing tips and tricks to ensure a successful sample collection. We have found these video calls to be very successful in reducing haemolysed samples and currently less than 10% of all of our samples fail when they reach our lab to be tested. We have plenty of availability for these calls and we can accommodate any time that suits our users in our working hours.
If you don't feel comfortable taking the sample yourself, we also offer the option to purchase a nurse visit, this is when you have your sample collected by one of our experienced phlebotomists who visit you at home and take a blood sample from a vein in the crook of your arm. This option is offered to everyone before they purchase their test.

Highly recommend Hertility!
I had the Advanced Hormone and Fertility Test in preparation for trying to conceive. The blood test was simple to do at home and I had my results and report one week after sending my blood test off. I was able to arrange my clinical results review call for the morning after I received my report. My call was with Daniella Abraham and she was fantastic - she talked me through my results and what this meant for my fertility and went through next steps. Highly recommend Hertility to anyone wanting to find out more about their hormones in preparation for TTC!

Excellent service
Excellent company. 1 year ago I was 29 and I used the service to test my levels as I was thinking about trying for a baby in the future. Just wanted reassurance that everything was ok.
To my shock, I had issues with testosterone, LH, FSH and oestrogen. I immediately went to the GP who confirmed this, and diagnosed me with PCOS after confirming via ultrasound. I then went to a private fertility clinic for advice, where my husband found he had male factor infertility too, although not severe. We immediately pulled our timeline forward and started fertility drug Letrozole right away, and completed an ovarian induction cycle which was £450. After 1 month we were pregnant and I’m now sitting here with my baby boy!
I’m so glad I didn’t wait longer and Hertility gave me all the information I needed to make informed decisions on my fertility.

Really pleased with the service, worthwhile health investment
Really pleased with the service that Hertility provide, worthwhile investing in understanding more about your hormones and health.
This isn’t something as easily accessible at your GP and the clinical review call after the results was very helpful. Victoria really took the time to explain my results and what they actually mean in reality. Tailored to my own results and what I wanted to get out of the call. Advice very helpful.
After two attempts at the at home test (finger skin prick) I gave up as this wasn’t working for me and I just couldn’t get enough blood out of my fingers despite following all the instructions. I opted for a nurse to do a home visit to take my blood- this was well worth it and in hindsight I should have opted for this after the first failed attempt.
I would recommend this test to anyone.

I was initially suspicious of Hertility…
I was initially suspicious of companies like Hertility. However, after another month with no pregnancy and no explanation, I bought a kit for £249.
I so wish I hadn’t! I am not in any way squeamish and consider myself quite stoical but I found the blood testing a) painful and b) incredibly slow to draw enough to fill the vial, despite the fact I followed instructions to the letter. I gave up a third of the way through after 20 minutes because my fingertips were so sore. I know many others have found the same from experiences posted here. 8% give this product a one-star review - nearly 1 in 10 customers.
The way the kits are marketed makes them look like a self-care product more than a medical test and I was a sucker to be taken in by it. I’m sure they’ll respond to this comment to say that there’s ample info on their website about the testing process, but my experience was absolutely nothing like the videos so I still feel there is a lack of transparency and cynical marketing at play here.
In the time it took to wait from delivery to the 3rd day of my period, my GP came back to me and I am now having the tests I need for free.
If your GP really cannot help you within the timeframe you require, and you are willing and able to spend, I would really recommend going to an actual private practice with professional nurses to give you a proper, painless blood test. I expect there won’t be much of a difference in price point in the end.

The blood test consultation was…
The blood test consultation was satisfactory, but the rest of the experience mirrored a typical GP visit. The follow-up call seemed hurried and lacked personalization. I was simply advised to proceed with additional tests, which also involved extra costs. It seemed there was little recognition of the substantial investment already made for the initial hormone test.

Great company helping women make more sense of their bodies
Everyone at Hertility that I’ve interacted with have been kind and very helpful. The test was easy to do, results came back quickly, report was easy to understand. The follow up call wasn’t with the type of specialist I needed, so I emailed them and was able to change to the menopause consultant (which was why I took the test in the first place - to investigate my symptoms and possible perimenopause). The follow up call I had with Alison Anderson was extremely helpful and has made sense of a lot of conflicting advice I’ve had over the past year. I feel more informed and have a good plan in place for next year. Thank you 🙏

As a UK-based healthcare company, we follow recognised national and international standards when collecting ethnicity data, including the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) harmonised ethnicity standard, guidance from UNESCO, and the Pew Research Center. These frameworks are designed to balance inclusivity with consistency in healthcare data collection, and they are widely used across the NHS and UK research settings.
We recognise that no predefined list can capture every identity globally. For this reason, we always include “Mixed” and “Other” options, where individuals can self-describe in their own words if none of the listed categories feel appropriate.
Our intention is never to exclude or diminish anyone’s identity, and we continually review our language and options to ensure they are respectful, inclusive, and aligned with best practice in healthcare data collection.
