Most companies make moving your money feel unnecessarily complicated. Between confusing paperwork, long wait times, and the feeling that they want you to give up halfway through, it can be frustrating enough to stop people from even trying.

Capitalize completely removes that barrier. They initiate the calls, handle the paperwork, and guide the process from start to finish. From my side, it felt almost entirely hands-off, which is exactly what you want when dealing with something that’s usually this tedious.

The process was smooth, efficient, and honestly a relief compared to how difficult rollovers usually are. If you’ve been putting off moving your retirement funds because it feels overwhelming, this makes it incredibly easy.

The process took far too long. Despite the rollover happening between to digital-only institutions, I was forced to rely on snail-mail for the entire process.
The worst part was halfway through the process I received an email from SoFi claiming that they had not yet received my check in the mail. This was four days after Capitalize had notified me that the check had been delivered, backed up by USPS tracking. When I contacted Customer Service for both companies neither could give me any definitive answer as to where my check was or what the problem was. Both responses were 'just wait longer'.

I pretty much did nothing. I just gave the access to the needed information and they took care of the rest. Any updates, I got an email for and the timeline provided was pretty accurate.

I rolled over two IRAs from previous employers and they made it very easy.

I was nervous to do the rollover on my own in case I made a mistake that could cause me to be taxed. I saw that my investment company with my IRA had an option to have someone walk me through the process. It was really easy to schedule, I just had to log in to my old 401k and screen share with the advisor who walked me through the process to make sure I withdrew it correctly and sent it straight to my IRA. They emailed me with updates and when the process was complete. It was really easy and gave me peace of mind.
