Received a cherry tomato plant ordered throughAmazon. Top was broken off, few leaves that were left were yellow. My complaint is they actually wanted me to send it back for a replacement. Seriously? Never again. Tossed in the bin and ordered from another reputable garden site. 0ther tomatoes were in good shape, though. That’s the one star.

Be aware of their replacement policy!

I ordered a Honey suckle plant in February, it came beginning in March. Had to keep it inside until the frost was gone. Planted it outside and after a week the leafes turned brown. Contacted the company and they did not replace or refund stating that the time for replacement or refund was up!! Do yourself a favor and order from a more customer friendly Greenhouse!

I ordered 6 plants from hirts garden…

I ordered 6 plants from hirts garden and was charged 19.99 for shipping of the 6 plants. The order was mostly correct but was missing 1 plant and a different plant that I didnt want or need replaced it. That was an unwanted exception made without consultation. I was told that they would send me the correct plant but instead I received a refund for that plant. However, I was still charged an extra $8.50 for the shipping of that plant that they didnt refund or replace. When I recreated the same shipment with the exact same 5 plants that I received, shipping amounted to $11.49. Shiesty business practice for squeezing an extra $8.50 out of a customer. Ill never buy from them again, and would suggest you not.

I highly recommend Hirt's

I have made many purchases from Hirt's. I was apprehensive ordering plants that had to be shipped but NOT ONE SINGLE TIME have I been disappointed! Great care was taken to package them with safety in mind. The packages were thoughtful prepared and ( this is important) done in such a way as to prevent the soil from spilling out but also that the packing could be easily removed without damaging the plants. The prices are even better than what I can buy locally even with shipping. As retiree living on a fixed income I have to save and plan for my purchases. This is very important. I cannot afford inferior products! Love Hirt's!!

The plants ordered arrived in excellent…

The plants ordered arrived in excellent condition. The ferns and the two small her-majesty plants were healthy. Hirt’s Gardens will be a preferred option for future orders.
Added, the prices were extremely reasonable in comparison to other nursery's. I will post photos at another time if I can.

Plant abuse

Plants that came cramped in a small deformed box were half-dead or dead. They looked nothing like pictures on the website. Out of 30 bareroot strawberries only three showed any signs of life after 3 weeks in the ground. The rest had empty black tubes for the roots and disintegrated when touched. I got a partial refund relatively easily, but never again. This is plant abuse.

I ordered 4 Lupine

I ordered 4 Lupine. I paid $30 for overnight shipping. They were shipped standard. By the time they got to me they were mostly dead. Two pots had No roots. Just stuffed on top of dirt. I paid a total of $157 for dead plants

Perfect plant

I ordered a Peace Lily with my Mother's Day gift money.
The price was better than I've seen other places. It took several days to get here, but came out of the box all healthy and happy--perfectly wrapped and boxed. No wilted or broken leaves and even blooming with three more buds. I couldn't be more satisfied.

I ordered a plant and they STUFFED it…

I ordered a plant and they STUFFED it into a box that was TOO SMALL, and because of that it had 5 BROKEN stems!! The box wasnt taped up very well so it arrived with the box open! Walmart shouldn't sell Hirts plants as a third party sale; it gives Walmart a bad name. If I could return it, I would, but I wouldn't receive my $8.05 in SHIPPING!!! I feel completely RIPPED OFF!!

My penultimate purchase

My penultimate purchase, a Laurel nobilis, arrived pale and sickly, as if it had never seen the sun. It died soon thereafter.

My final purchase, Araucaria araucana, arrived with many dead tips, which took me a half hour to trim. It will take months more of trimming as the poor plant grows out.

Never again, Hirt's.

Excited about my new staghorn

Purchased Angola Staghorn online and received the plant in the mail within four days. The staghorn was neatly packaged and undamaged. Really looks great for a four inch potted plant. Even got a discount that I didn't ask for.

Every Order Was A Problem

I like that they sell their plants for great prices and don't charge a lot for shipping, but I've had issues with every order I placed with them. A plant always arrived sick and died not long after. I was done with Hirt's after my last order arrived with a pest infestation. They need to do a better job checking their plants' health before shipping them to customers. It's disappointing, and sometimes frustrating, that you have a sick plant brought into your home. The reason why I gave 3 stars is because Hirt's does take responsibility for their mistakes. I've received multiple refunds from them, which I appreciate. For now on, I'm sticking with shopping for plants in person. I prefer to pick my plant and check its health then and there before buying it. That way, I have control what comes into my home and I can protect my other house plants from something that can be dangerous to them.

Liars

I ordered two fitonia plants. One pink and the other red. When I received my order I received two pink. I called them and told them about what happened. They asked me to send them a picture of the plants. I sent them the picture and they clearly told me the plant was red when it was pink and that it would change color when it gets older which is not true. I have indeed seen plants red in color at a young age. On there website the plant is pure red. It is not what I ordered. This place is very unprofessional, and I would not recommend you not order from this place. I didn't read reviews before placing my order. Believe every negative review on here.

Ordered sweetgrass, one living blade in one pot and 2 or 3 in another. two other plants aren’t too bad, I could see from the pics they were very small tendrils, but because of that they should be healthy

Healthy Plants

I've ordered plants from Hirt's Gardens on several occasions. A couple of times, I received plants that weren't up to my expectations. One was even dead. However, Hirt's was quick to refund the purchase price. Recently, I ordered 3 more plants from Hirt's Gardens and they were all in excellent condition, healthy and a very nice size. Pay attention to the pot size that's offered. A 4" or 5" pot houses a good-sized plant, anywhere from 4" to 10". A 2" pot houses a tiny plant that might be only 1"-2" tall.

Great plant for a great price!

I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but ordered because of a good price (plus it was on sale!!!) and wasn't disappointed! I ordered a citrus in a bigger than an entry size pot, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a good sized plant, not just a twig with a couple of leaves. It is actually bigger than what was on the picture, and it has quite a lot of new growth. It arrived very fast and without any kind of damage, because it was packaged very carefully and efficiently. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase!

Fraudulent Charge

Someone stole my credit card info and ordered from this store, I contacted the store and they refused to refund my money because I did not have an order number or the full name/shipping address of the order. How would I have this info if I didn't make the order? LOL

If I could give it no stars, I would…

I received plants from this company in May - 4 of the same kind. They were a bit pricey but they came and were in good shape and lived. I ordered $130 worth of more plants and seeds and had to pay $50 shipping. The box came late. Not unusual, but $50 for shipping I would assume next day. Everything was smashed into one box and heavily saturated with water. There was 1 plant that was tiny but did not have any issues. One plant was full of mold, the others were either full of dead leaves, the leaves fell off, the leaves were yellow, or the stems were broken. Contacted the company and they refunded JUST the moldy plant. Contacted them again and was told they do not refund dead or dying plants. What?! I literally took the photos within 5 minutes of unpacking them. If I saw them at a greenhouse, they would be in the garbage bin. DO NOT do business with this company unless you want to be ripped off.
