Welcome to Home Pool Tables, a family-owned business offering top-quality British-made slate bed pool tables at affordable prices. Established in 1974, we started by manufacturing and supplying coin-operated pool tables to pubs, youth clubs, and leisure centres. Our late father helped design the early Super League 7 x 4 pool table, which evolved into the UK 8-ball pool table. By the 1990s, we operated over 2,000 amusement machines and provided snooker table installation, recovering, and refurbishment services nationwide. As the domestic pool table market grew, we shifted focus to producing high-quality tables for home use, with custom design options. In 2016, we opened Scotland's largest Pool and Snooker Showroom in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. Today, we offer a wide range of games room products, including air hockey, football tables, and accessories. Our experienced team is available to assist with product advice, and we provide nationwide delivery and ongoing support through our Midlands distribution hub. One of the things we pride ourselves on is the amount of control and freedom we offer each customer. We stock a wide range of pool table types beyond standard (all full-size) such as commercial pool tables, pool dining tables, outdoor pool tables and foldable pool tables. All of which are customisable in the finish, cloth type and colour and further details like the legs or corners. We also offer an extensive range of accessories, a standard set with everything you need to play included for free - but also more high-end specialist level balls and cues.

poor customer service

I never leave reviews as usually I do not experience any issues with businesses/products however this case is totally different and I felt like I should share my personal experience.I placed an order in November 2025, including paid installation, and from the moment it was delivered the issues began. The product arrived incomplete and damaged, the bolts for the bench legs were missing, meaning the installers I had paid for were unable to complete the job. On top of that, there was visible damage to the bench legs and a big chip on the table’s ball drawer.I informed customer service the next day. What followed ended up being months of back-and-forth communication, delays, and chasing for updates, at one point I had no response for 3 weeks despite no resolution or timeframes given. Apparently "small imperfections sometimes occur" from the supplier, as if this should be accepted by the customer? The company also attempted to downplay the damage as “minor” or “not visible,” which did not reflect the actual situation or the inconvenience caused. As a result, I was left with unusable furniture and an installation service that I had paid for but was not fulfilled for months.

While goodwill items and a partial refund were eventually offered, these only came after significant persistence. Even then, the initial compensation offered did not reflect the scale of the delay or inconvenience.
To summarise the key issues in my experience:
Missing bolts on delivery, preventing use of the product as intended
Damaged components acknowledged at delivery (by myself and the delivery team)
Paid installation service not completed as agreed
Long delays in resolving issues (informed customer service 23rd Jan 26, final resolution 13th April 26, so nearly 3 months which is longer than the initial order took!)
Poor communication and lack of proactive updates
Repeated need to chase for responses
Solutiions requiring additional time off work

The outcome:
i Was told missing items and AND the damaged ball drawer would be sorted in March, along came April with no update from the company so once again i chased them, i was then told the 9th of April. On the 9th of April trhe bolts were fitted asnd the benched were finally put together however, the damaged ball drawer was not fixed as they could not remove the damaged piece which was apparently the company getting "incorrect information" which suggests they don't know their own products. After this they told me it would be another minimum 2-4 weeks before anything, this was still deemed reasonable by them even after 80 days of me waiting for a resolution. I eventually accepted a settlement purely to bring the matter to a close as i had enough of my time wasted and not because I felt it was a fair outcome.

Overall, this was a stressful, time-consuming, and frustrating experience. The product quality at delivery and the customer service both fell well below any reasonable expectations. Others may have a different experience, but I would recommend factoring in potential delays and follow-ups if issues arise.

We take all feedback seriously, but your review does not fully or accurately reflect the nature of the issues or how they were handled.

From the outset, we acknowledged the concerns raised and acted quickly. The damage referenced to the bench ends was extremely minor—approximately 1–2mm and not material to the structure or function of the product. Similarly, the ball drawer you mention is a concealed feature, not visible during normal use. While we understand any imperfection can be frustrating, it is misleading to present these points as significant defects impacting the overall usability of the table.

Replacement parts and a follow-up installation visit were arranged, and a goodwill gesture was offered early in the process to recognise the inconvenience caused. Additional compensation was then offered after the second visit, once it became clear that the ball drawer issue could not be resolved on-site.

Regarding the ball drawer, during the second visit it emerged that the component had been assembled differently than expected (glued rather than screwed), based on incorrect technical information from the manufacturer. This meant the repair could not be completed during that visit. As soon as this was identified, we communicated the situation and next steps.

At this stage, you requested that the matter be fully resolved within a very short and, given the circumstances, unrealistic timeframe. In addition, the level of compensation you sought was significantly higher than what would be considered reasonable or proportionate to the issues involved.

Despite this, we continued working towards a resolution and ultimately reached a settlement, which you accepted as full and final closure of the matter.

We do acknowledge that the process took longer than anticipated, and for that we apologise. However, the delays were largely due to supplier constraints and the unexpected construction of the component in question, rather than any lack of effort or communication on our part.

We stand by the way this case was handled, including the goodwill gesture, subsequent compensation, and the steps taken to resolve the matter. While we respect your right to share your experience, it is important that it is presented in a fair and balanced way.

Excellent!

Communication was excellent from start to finish, with quick responses to any questions both prior to and after ordering. The pool table arrived earlier than planned, and the delivery team were outstanding in getting everything set up perfectly.

Great set up.

Ordering my pool table was pretty straightforward, I was told it would be delivered in 4 weeks,which it was.
The delivery guys Stuart and Callum were very professional, from the setting up of my table, to how to care for the table was excellent, these guys know their stuff, I would recommend this company, Stuart and Callum thanks again.

Great service from start to finish

Great service from start to finish. There were delays over the Christmas period but Daniel kept me informed of the progress. I went for the Goodwood white gloss which had to be made on demand. Fantastic table.Ash cues are superb. The install team were polite and efficient and were very patient with me on the final position. Very pleased. Thank you.

I rarely take the time to leave…

I rarely take the time to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience after purchasing a pool table from this company. Unfortunately, I have to say that the after-sales service has been quite disappointing.

When my table arrived a few weeks ago, it was set up correctly, and I was informed that an exchange would happen later for the correct order. I thought that sounded fair, so I waited. After two weeks, I reached out to find out what was happening. I was promised that someone would get back to me to resolve the issue, but no one ever did.

I decided to send an email expressing my frustration, hoping to get some clarity. But again, no one responded. I made two more phone calls, and still, I was met with the same promises of getting things sorted, but no follow-up came. Now, I’m stuck with a pool table that’s not what I ordered.

It’s really disheartening, especially considering how much these tables cost. You’d expect better attention to customer satisfaction. I wish this review could be more positive, but I can only reflect the reality of my experience. I’m left feeling disappointed and quite let down.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’ve felt disappointed with your experience — that’s certainly not the impression or level of service we aim to provide.

We’d like to clarify a key part of what happened. During the process, you were in contact with the factory directly regarding the replacement table legs as the ones supplied were the wrong colour back in January of this year. Unfortunately, the black legs required for your order were out of stock at the factory at that time. This caused an unexpected delay that was outside of our immediate control.

That said, we fully acknowledge that the follow-up communication you received from the factory and indirectly us did not meet the standard it should have. For that, we sincerely apologise.

There was never any intention to leave you without a resolution. The plan was always to exchange the legs as soon as the factory restocked them, and we regret that this wasn’t communicated clearly or consistently enough, leading to understandable frustration.

I can confirm a new date has been offered to you in March within a fortnights time to exchange the grey legs for the black version.

Buying an expensive piece of furniture…

Buying an expensive piece of furniture on line comes with some apprehension, but a friendly phone call in advance and assurance helped. The ordering process, and delivery were straight forward and installation by a local team was quick and efficient. Had a small issue with a cue but that was resolved within a day ! .. the important part .. the solid oak, mitred joints, and quality of the table are awesome !! I’m sure years of enjoyment ahead. Oh yeah and it’s a solid, great looking dining table. We went for the 6x3 due to room size and having played pool for a few ‘decades’ have no regrets about size. An all round great piece, service and would recommend 👍🏼

My pool table was installed by Jimmy &…

My pool table was installed by Jimmy & Jeff and they were amazing. Jimmy knew literally everything about pool tables and gave me plenty of tips for keeping my new table in good condition. Showed me how to brush it, talked me through how he was setting it up. Both Jimmy and Jeff were so enthusiastic about their work and what made me even happier was the care they took to make sure they didnt make a mess! They were extremely respectful and great guys! 5/5👏

Outstanding Pool Table Supplier

Buying a pool table frrom Home Pool Tables Direct was a delightful experience from beginning to end.
When we visited their showroom Daniel explained all the pros and cons of the various types of pool table and helped us choose the right table for our needs.
The installation team did an outstanding job of installing the table exactly where we wanted it and took the trouble to show me the internals of the ball return system and demonstrate to me how it worked.
On completion of the installation they made sure we were happy with everything and took the time to explain in detail how to clean and look after the table.
I am so glad that I chose to buy from Home Pool Tables Direct.
