AVOID!
This company is a scam. Paid £102 for absolutely nothing. They said the engineer would be with us by 4. Kept calling then they said he couldn't come. And won't give a refund as they are non refundable. Which is not stated anywhere on the call. So man on the phone was so rude. Do not use this company.

See all the previous comments on Trustpilot. Nowhere on their website does it mention staggering payments to them, only 'Pay your local expert directly for the job carried out'. They actually charged £90 inc vat just for booking, the trader doesn't get any of that.
I am reporting to Trading Standards and suggest everyone else does the same.

Well, I am only too willing to assist.

Firstly, it should be obvious to most people that if you have 40 reviews and 39 have given you one star (I suspect most would be zero if Trustpilot gave that option) then you need to have a good look at yourselves if you genuinely want to fix the problem. For a company that’s only existed since 14 Apr 2023 it should be very worrying, unless you don’t care because you’re making money. Accounts have yet to be filed with Companies House.

Inexplicably one ‘customer’ gave four stars because quote “there a call centre you can hear noise in the background”. Most large organisations will have noisy call handling, that doesn’t mean they are obviously a call centre only.

On the website we see logos for Yell, Bing & Google with 5 stars beneath each. To most people that would indicate a star rating from those organisations. Clearly none of those organisations have given any rating but the intention is to make it look that way. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.

Next, “The mission is to provide reliable, professional, and affordable Experts to local households and businesses”. The company is not providing any such thing, it is only connecting you to the experts, exactly the same as if you searched on Google and found them yourself. The BIG difference is Google won’t charge you but this company will, big time. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.

Next, we see “Call Us we take details and get you Booked In”. This would be the obvious place to state that there is an upfront fee for this service but the owners have chosen NOT to make this obvious. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.

Next, “Pay the Expert for doing your job”. Again, this is an ideal place to add, “this is in addition to the upfront fee we charge”.

Next, the three ‘customer’ testimonials all praise the people that did the job, NOT the company that sent them. This gives the impression that the company is being praised and the experts were provided by them. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.

Next, in case you didn’t get the impression that the local experts work for the company, they have an image of a white van with their company name along the side. If you’re a call centre, why would you have a van giving the impression that these experts are driving around in a fleet of liveried vehicles. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.

It’s only after you get sucked in to making the call and paying, that you receive a text making it clear that you’ve just been had.

Ian Hawkes, if you want to ‘understand my experience’ just be honest, state clearly on your website that you ONLY connect customers to experts and you don’t actually provide anything other than that. See how much money you make then!

Basically you pay to gets a trades man phone number

Well, I have just fallen for the first time ever with a potential fraud. Paid £102 incl vat to be told a roofer will attend a job. No call out and the contact has ignored all calls. Now contacted my bank to retrieve my money and reported them for potential misrepresentation. However, I have check with the Gov at Companies house and they are registered as active and do have company accounts. What I didn't do is read the reviews. Lesson learned. DO NOT USE THE THIS COMPANY

Please do not use this company it is a rip off they charged me £90 plus vat and all they did was call a plumber and the minute he arrived he told us that he does not get any of the money we had just paid, they are just taking the money to make a phone call and then you pay the person when he or she arrives. The plumber told me it happens every time he does a job for them they do not explain to anyone, they are just a go between and when you call them back they are very abusive and you cannot get a refund. The plumber told us a story that he had recently gone to a job for an 86year old woman and when he had done the job he asked her for payment but she had no money she thought she had already paid.

Called them to carry out some work on our property, owing to it not being local to us. The woman was rude and put the phone down.... Call themselves a home service repair Company.... definitely won't be using these, seems the other reviews are correct!!

DO NOT USE. I wish I read these reviews before hand. Had to pay £103 just for them to call someone to come over, could have done that in 5 minutes with a simple Google search. Now I have to pay the guy coming £85 for 30 minutes of work, another £85 if he stays longer. Company would not refund me even though they said they would if the handyman has not been to my apartment which he did not, but still no way to cancel or refund. First handyman to call me did not even have a ladder or have access to a ladder. There is a reason that you cannot leave reviews on their website.
Edit: I spoke to two handymen that were called out for my job and both said there was something off about the company and did not like dealing with them, one out right said this would be his last job after I showed him all these reviews.

DO NOT USE. This is a totally fraudulent company- They charge you £120 booking fee- and then you have to pay the tradesperson on top. They sent me a foreign suppoed plumber who was not a certified or qualified ! He then charged me £100 for turning a valve. Upon calling the company back i was infomred the fee was non refundable and was the fee for boking the plumber? I'm disgusted with how this firm are allowed to trade. i have been totally misled. They are totally unscrupulous.-

My parents needed an emergency electrician.
They rang HOME SERVICE REPAIRS who are based in Kent.
An upfront charge of £188.
A bloke turned up in flashy Golf GTi with just a toolbox.
He found the fault and left an absolutely disgusting resolution to fix the problem.
The bloke was at the address for 4 hours and charged a whopping £800 for 4 hours work.
Not bad at £200 an hour!!!
Plus the £118 on top.
No receipt was given either.
APPAULING AND DISGUSTING HOW PEOPLE HAVE THE HEART TO LITERALLY RIP OFF THE ELDERLY.
This company needs to be reported to the trading standards.

After paying initial fee plumber came and certified boiler unsafe ,carbon monoxide. Charged nearly £400.for app 1hour.work.gave us no indication of how much work would cost when he was here. Got boiler checked today by local plumber. Boiler working ok,no gas leak,very efficient and honest service, cost £78. I feel very sad that some people can do this to vulnerable people and are able to get away with it.surely call centre had some way of vetting these people. A complete con

Rubbish £102 booking fee booked in advance, then Plumber phoned up and can’t turn up till 430 that day when it was pre-booked with this company for morning, absolutely pathetic

I would have given this company 0 they lie about the service they offered I was told it was £118 for a washing machine repair plus the parts. The money paid by card before engineer visited. As soon as I hung up I got 3 text messages saying not to contact them they were a call centre and to pay the engineer when he arrived I rang back to say I understood that I had already paid for the engineer and only had to pay for parts. No they say. I say can I cancel and have a refund. No they said engineer is booked. I tried to ring back but they just kept cutting me off. Eventually through my persistence they said customer service would ring me. I’m still waiting for that call and for the engineer. It’s a scam. Don’t use them DONOT pay them any money.

Monies eventually returned

Booked to have a chimney sweep, was told someone will be with us the same day before 5, got a call to advise that no one will be coming out and to sort the refund in the week when the ‘customer service’ person is back. Called first thing to be told he was out of the office and give it 10 minutes, then got told ‘they’ are in a meeting give it half an hour, then called back to be told they do not deal with refunds and to contact my bank. I wouldn’t trust this company as far as I could throw them. Stay well away

I am appalled by this company.
They have charged me £102.00 for absolutely nothing.
I called with a plumbing emergency in the afternoon and was told that someone would call before 6pm.
After 6 someone phoned and said he was too far away and would not come.
I then had to call another company who came at great expense.
I phoned this morning and was met by nothing but rudeness.AVOID AT ALL COSTS

An absolute rip off!!!! Do not use! Sent out a heating engineer after charging me £99 plus VAT for the engineers to then charge me £99 for ten minutes of his time. The boiler wasn't even repaired!!! I rang back to complain as I was informed by text that I would be paying a half hourly rate.....in my calculation, that means the engineer is charging £198 per hour!! Really, I don't think so!!! DO NOT USE THIS RIP OFF SERVICE!!!!!!!!

I believe when i paid my money up front it was for the job of fitting my smoke alarms ,but after the payment of £90,he said i would have to pay the work man for the job ,ive been totally done over not happy

I telephoned this company following a Yellow Pages search because I had woken up to find that on flushing my toilet it was blocked. I was told that they could send a plumber within about an hour. After giving my details, I was asked to pay by card. I expressed surprise by this, and the response was 'this is just the way we work'. I asked if they could guarantee that the plumber would arrive as stated, and they confirmed. I then paid the fee of £99 (using my debit card), which I had understood was for the job. They mentioned that the plumber would charge extra for any parts required. When the plumber had not arrived after two hours, I contacted the company and was told that the booked time was 4 to 5 pm. Shortly before 5pm I received a call from a plumber saying that he would take over an hour to get to me and would be charging £150 plus parts. He then explained that Home Services have charged me a booking fee. I was completely unaware that the original charge was just a booking fee and told him this was unacceptable, and not to attend. On checking my email I found a receipt for £118.80 (including VAT) non-refundable booking fee. I telephoned the company and asked for a full refund as no services had materialised. This was declined.

Company company is a sham. You took money we gave me nothing in return. As for the other guy he disappeared without trace. Classic fraud thank you.
