We received our 2 leather bar stools…

We received our 2 leather bar stools without instruction on how to attach to the wooden bases. I had to go online to get a generic description of how to go and buy yourself nuts and bolts and washers to fit in the holes to attach the seat to the base. This looks impossible. It will require us to get an engineer to assemble these after we go and buy the hardware.

This has been the worst customer…

This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had. Delayed / standard responses from customer service and none of their information has been helpful. Also, the item I ordered was falsely pictured and advertised on their site. Thus the reason for my return request which they have provided 0 assistance with. I have subsequently filed a claim with my credit card company. I will never order from them again.

Customer service is only via email; CAN'T RETURN

Customer service is only via email. Response is supposed to be within 48 hours, but I am currently at one week and still waiting. Phone support is only for purchases. The phone CSR was very cheery until I mentioned I was trying to get a response for my return. Then her mood changed 180 degrees. I think they are much more interested in making sales than they are in providing support after the sale. Wish I had checked here first before ordering.

UPDATE: Finally received a reply from customer service. They will not accept returns due to "customer remorse." I'm now stuck with a perfectly new, unpacked chair that we cannot use, and still need to buy another from somewhere else.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS SELLER.

Like many others, whenever I see a bad review, I automatically think, “Maybe the other buyer is wrong,” or “Maybe I should give them a chance anyway.” FIGHT THAT INSTINCT.

I purchased a nightstand for my mother, who is currently battling cancer (and thankfully winning right now). She spends most of her time in her room, so I wanted to get her something that looked nice, even though it was honestly overpriced for what it was.

The item arrived, and the box did not appear damaged. Because my mother is receiving treatment out of town, we were not able to take the item to her room and open it until this weekend.

Of course, the item was damaged.

I contacted both the seller and Walmart regarding a replacement. Understand: they are NOT claiming the item wasn’t damaged. They shipped it, so they know it was. Their response was simply that I am four days past the “return window.”

Guys, there are plenty of other sellers out there. Do not waste your time or money with this one.

Life is too short, and there are more important things to focus on, so I will just have to eat the cost of this item. But if I can help even one person avoid dealing with this company, then at least something good came from this experience.

Absolute nightmare to deal with

Absolute nightmare to deal with. I purchased a set of 8 dining chairs from this seller (Homesquare) through Wal-Mart.com. The first chair we put together was wobbly and had defects. One of the boxes we received was completely damaged -- huge holes and you could see the product inside. We contacted the seller within a couple of days of delivery to request a return/refund. They responded requesting an absurd amount of photos/videos, and kept demanding a photo of some "certificate" from the exterior of the boxes. There is no "certificate" for me to take a picture of. I complied with all the other requests, and submitted ample proof of the poor quality/damage.

Now they are advising we have to remove ALL pieces from the packaging to inspect them for damage and submit photos. This is beyond a ridiculous request!! We already provided proof that the first chair was poorly made and advised we do not want to keep the chairs. To expect us to unpack 4 huge boxes of 8 chairs to take photos and inspect them is unreasonable.

Avoid! Customer service is non existent. Over the phone they will just assist you with placing new orders. Via email they take 2+ weeks to respond with no solution to the problem - only saying they are sorry.

My package has been shipped 3 weeks ago, was suppose to be delivered tomorrow, but received a text message saying that it's delayed by another week.

I had to dispute my charge with credit card company.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HOMESQUARE!!!!!! I ordered 2 heavy duty shelving for my basement. When my order arrived I got someone else's order (a filing cabinet) and the one shelving unit I received was damaged. They have NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. Just an email with they refuse to acknowledge you!! I don't even have the correct order

Worst transaction of my life

Worst transaction of my life. I spent over $6000 with this company and my deliveries were ALL incorrect. Their customer service is non-existent. You can't even call to speak to someone for CS, it's all handled via email. Resolution took months to happen.

They are hands down the worst company on the internet. They'll lie to you to make the sale and bs you the whole way without offering a return/refund when requested. They should be put out of business by a consumer protection agency.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I ordered from them through the Walmart Marketplace. I ordered the 96" Modern Fireplace Console Entertainment Fully Assembled White. The item was damaged in transit so it could not be delivered. The seller emailed me asking if I would like a refund/replacement. I replied to the seller asking them to replace the item. It was shortly after this time, I noticed the listing had changed to: 84" Modern Fireplace Console Entertainment Fully Assembled White. I replied to the seller asking if the replacement would be the 96" Fireplace I had originally ordered. They replied to me stating I actually ordered the 84" Fireplace, which they doubled down on after I told them that was incorrect. I have email confirmations stating that I ordered the 96" fireplace and even Walmart was able to track down the paper trail that states it was 96". The listing on this item has changed after I ordered it and the seller is trying to pass it off as if I ordered the smaller, presumably less expensive, fireplace. At this point, the seller is not trying to help me even though I have reached out several times over the last 3 days. This is an extremely untrustworthy practice, especially for those who are making a large purchase.

You will regret your purchase

You will regret your purchase. I can almost guarantee it. Low quality products and zero customer support to help resolve issues. And don’t waste your time requesting a return/refund. They’re going to keep your money. That’s a seemingly non-negotiable. I chalked up my $300 purchase as a loss. Now I’ll just try to prevent others from making the same mistake.

If I could rate ZERO STARS I would

If I could rate ZERO STARS I would. They do not deserve a single star. First time ever I made a purchase without reading reviews and, boy, am I sorry. This company is a complete POS to deal with. I canceled an order within 5 minutes of placing the order, then kept contacting them to get confirmation of the cancelation, and they completely ignored me and sent the product. After the product was delivered to me they sent me a generic email saying they were reviewing the email I sent stating I needed to cancel the order. There is no speaking to anyone and every time I email them I get the exact same generic email 4 days later in return. Worst customer service ever. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. You will be sorry if you do.. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. They should not be in business.

This company does not deserve even one…

This company does not deserve even one star. In fact, they should be put out of business and criminal charges be brought against them. DO NOT PURCHASE anything thru this company. I have contacted the Attorney General's office in the State of Virginia and the BBB. I even warned the first representative I contacted by the name of Arista that this is not my first rodeo and I instinctively felt I would have trouble with this scandalous company. That was November 12, 2025 and it is now November 26, 2025 and my instinct was correct. This company is evil. Try calling them and your call won't even go thru. HORRIBLE

Beware of Homesquare

Homesquare and Walmart said our dining set would be here Monday the 27th. We gutted our dining room and waited.

Never came. A representative from their company said we were never told such a thing, essentially accusing us of lying. Both Homesquare's site and Walmart's confirmed that we would receive it on the 27th. They continued that it had not even left NC.

I stated, "good, keep it." I was very frustrated that they were now talking about the following Monday. We then ordered a folding table, chairs and tablecloths for an event we had planned for Friday costing us hundreds of dollars. Homesquare then sent an email issuing a threat that if we did not take it, we would for all intents and purposes be expected to pay for it anyway, due to restocking fees. This is their verbatim proposal, Original Purchase: $652.46 Return Shipping: $384.60 Restocking Fee: $130.49 Total Refund Due: $137.37. In other words we were expected to pay over $500 for a table that retails for around $600 and we never received. They then offered that we would receive a discount of about $63 if we would receive it anyway. At this point I had a phone call with a representative from Homesquare about when we could expect it to be here if we accepted their terms.

I was hoping for the next day, but they said Tuesday was the soonest. We then agreed to receive it Tuesday with the promised credit. We have it all in writing.

I had not received a call or email giving me a window and so I inquired in advance. Homesquare's representative said they were arranging it with the shipper. Tuesday came and we waited, again.

At 3 pm on Tuesday, I received correspondence looking to arrange a ship date... That is not what we agreed to. I spoke with the shipper and the soonest it could be delivered was Saturday. Here we go again.
I have 0 confidence buying something from this organization due to the many promises and lack of follow through.

I expressed this to Walmart and they apologized and said they will manage the situation from here in that our experience has been so challenging, unprofessional and frankly, threatening. I have never worked with such a hostile and unprofessional retailer in my life. This is not how we do business in America. We treat customers with respect.

This is a trait Homesquare's business practices lack completely. Leveling threats against customers and accusing them of lying when they have a hearty paper trail is both heinous and foolish. I have never seen such a thing.
Walmart has said that they will manage this. I am hopeful that they will.

As an aside, Gestapo business practices, trying to manage customers with intimidation, threats and high handed behaviour, does not fly in our country. It is bizarre and disturbing to see anyone operating this way. For this reason, I am reporting their activities to the Better Business bureau and other outlets so that others may be warned and hopefully there will be some investigating of their business practices.
The many horrible reviews tells a nasty story. I was concerned that with the bizarre behaviour, what I received may be damaged and where would that leave us.

This concern is clearly well founded. Hopefully adding our experience will warn others.

Excellent Customer Service

Not sure why Homesquare is getting all this hate. I purchased one of their daybeds through Walmart. The product itself was exactly what I was looking for. It was much harder to manage because I wanted a sturdy bed but I didn’t realize how much would go into it and one of the parts were defective. I decided I just wanted to return the product. I contacted them and they responded quickly. They gave me good options to resolve the situation. I was able to get a refund promptly without any issue.

I was honestly reluctant to purchase something that wasn’t fulfilled by Walmart since I was so used to them. But my only experience with Homesquare was positive.

Wow...wish I had read these reviews before I purchased one of their products through Walmart. I ordered a kitchen island. It was delivered in 2 separate boxes several days apart, which they did not communicate would be the case. Even though we ordered this product from Walmart, they completely back out of any issues so you can not return the item to them. So then you are stuck with dealing directly with Home Square. They only communicate with you via email and their policy is the return shipping cost is on you. They charge a $125 restocking fee and a $75 reshipping fee even though I'm paying for it. They offered for me to keep the product and they would refund me 15% of the original cost. So, all this say, if you are ordering anything heavy (over 75 lbs), and you end up wanting to return it, the process is quite cumbersome and you won't get a full refund. BUYER BEWARE!!

I would zero stars if I could

I would zero stars if I could. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I ordered my baby future from here and after 15 days after they confirmed my order, I reached out to see where my future was, and the confirmation said it would arrive in 2-15 days, and asked for tracking. They emailed me back and told me there was an error they were not aware of until I emailed that the furniture was basckorded and they were cancelling my order. I am due in two weeks and my baby furniture will not get here in time, brocade they didn’t even bother to tell me the item ( they still have on their website as available) was unavailable until it was too late for me to order a new one in time. Terrible terrible company.

Great follow-up on problem.

Following a lack of communication, they dispatched a top flight electrician to install a 120v line in my basement and replace a faulty dimmer switch. They arrived on-time, did a perfect job and cleaned up the entire area. I would recommend Home Square and the vendor without hesitation.
