I would not even try this product. I "won" a "free" mouth tape on their website which turned out to be $49.99.
If they are that deceptive on their website, then I cannot trust the quality or claims that they make about their product.

So I go on the hostagetape.com website and I can spin the wheel to get a "deal."
I states that I won "FREE TAPE"
BUT I must give up my phone number and email address.
Then I get a text and email stating that if I
BUT 2 I'll get 1 FREE
That is not Free tape.
I got tricked into giving up my contact information.
Poor.

Works well, really sticky compared to others and doesn't just fall off.

We purchased it and then found out you can't use it if your BMI is over 35, i.e. if you are obese. This is most of the people who have sleep apnea and need it the most. The company claims it helps with sleep apnea. This strongly indicates to me this is not medically safe at all. Since the money back period of 30 days was passed, they declined to refund while acknowledging all that was true. Avoid.

Deceptive marketing
They promise an offer in exchange for your email and phone number, but then give you the same "deal" that is available to anyone on their site without giving information. Then they try to gaslight you into thinking that the deal is special or that there was a technical glitch.
I won't do business with liars.

The mouth tape holds well even with a few days mustache. It does its job as described. I don't know if it helps for snoring, because I am using it for a different reason. I use it because of my sleep apnea to prevent me from mouthbreathing during the night. And it does good job at keeping my mouth shut throughout the night. However, in the morning when I take the tape off, it leaves a black residue around my lips, pieces of the glue or the tape remain on my skin. So I am leaving 3 stars particularly because of how overpriced this product is. I bought 3x cheaper take from amazon that looks and works EXACTLY as good as this one, and does not leave black residue on the skin. So, it's a good product, but overpriced as hell, try using some cheaper rip offs and you will save some money.

My husband has use it for a couple month and has not seen a change

I ordered a year supply of the product. Sent me an empty box.

I called their support and they said they would refund.

4 weeks later, their support lied they processed a refund. Had to do a chargeback with the written email evidence from them.

Shady company.

Please avoid this company. I canceled my subscription after receiving the first order since upon opening the package I noticed that it was no different than kinesiology tape. Despite canceling my account, the bros at hostage tape billed me for another three months.

I recommend buying a much less expensive type of tape and cutting the pieces to your own liking. Your mouth and pocket will thank you.

These guys are as shady as they come. Notice the lack of 1 and 2 star reviews on their website? Well, I left a 1-star review after they requested one. It was never published. There are ZERO 1-star or 2-star reviews on their site, but so many of them here! This is sooooo shady. They dudes are crooks!

I was supposed to receive a pack of nasal strips with my order. They were never sent. In my follow up questions about the missing orders, they claimed even though it shows I was getting them - I was not actually entitled to them. Seriously?

The tape is crap too. Better stuff out there.

So I don’t know if any of you other nighttime mouth breathing apnea ridden cpap wearing folks have seen this add for hostage tape pop up on your Facebook feed, but I did and I ordered some. $25 for a 30 day supply. But check this out. I pulled out a pair of scissors and cut the kinesiology tape into the same shape as the hostage tape and compared them… Same shape, same color, same texture, same adhesive pattern on the back, same adhesion, and the EXACT SAME EFFECT. What’s not the same? Two rolls of 2 inch by 16 foot rolls of kinesiology tape cost me $6…. Yeah… clever marketing but the markup is ridiculous. I wonder what companies kinesiology tape they use to cut them into the oblong shape…

I've bought a few of these products before but was on and off with them. Bought this one because it was supposedly good on facial hair. I've been ripping out my mustache hair every morning since I bought them, so not too happy with how they've positioned it. Haven't had any of these other issues with rashes that people are reporting, but seems I'd be better off just getting some medical tape or something and putting it across my mouth

Hi. I liked the tape until I had to remove it. I was clean shaven but still it hurt so bad, like worse than a band aide. I don't think I can deal with that every morning.

Predatory marketing. Absolutely NO transparency. What is it made of? Where is it manufactured? Who manufactures it? Is it done ethically? Ask them questions and they harass you. Product left a rash and it’s impossible to know what caused it as they won’t tell me the ingredients. Just get kinesiology tape and let this company disappear into the social media black hole it came from.

The tape leaves residue around your mouth and causes irritation from the adhesives.

I would say drinking some calming tea before bed would be much more effective than this gimmick.

My snoring is notorious. I thought id have to get surgery to cure it but there were no guarantees. Hostage Tape is a miracle. Period.

I wish I could attach a photo. Does the product help me sleep better? Sure. But it’s left a horrible rash around my mouth, my skin is peeling off, and there’s nothing I can do to cover the redness around my mouth. It’s humiliating.

Hostage Tape refused to honor their 100% 30-day refund policy. I ordered 6 packets to gift to my family for the holiday. I contacted them 2 weeks after ordering to let them know that we had to use 2-3 tapes per night because they were falling off. The support individual recommended I continue to try using it while applying the tape with a different method. We tried the new method and it didn't work, and we used the rest of the tape. I contacted them again for a refund or a replacement but was denied. They stated that they would only issue a refund if I shipped the product back to them. Their refund policy at the time stated that it was a 100% money back guarantee, and nothing was written about shipping product back. I sent several emails that were ignored, and then my request was denied. Since this happened, they updated their refund policy on the website to say that unused product needs to be returned and is subject to a restocking fee. I have screen shots of their refund policy & their terms & conditions prior to my email, and all it stated was 100% 30-day money back guarantee (nothing about needing to send unused product). If there was the ability to upload photos I would share the old refund policy here. Very shady and poor business practice, plus terrible customer service.
